    I have a 50cc Zuma and the furthest I’ve gone is 20 miles away from home. I’m in Dallas and people drive like it’s a race to the finish line while texting and talking on the phone. 14k Miles and it’s never let me down

    I saw a elite 110 on Craigslist with 1300 miles on it and not kowing anything about it..I decided to checkout TH-cam. Watch a couple of them nothing special untill I saw you video. Great detail & articulated. Hope they still haven't sold that scooter. Thanks

    I'm looking at a Honda Elite 110 here in 2020. Does anyone else have a difficult time believing this video...lol... I've had mopeds and motorcycles, but never would I have dreamed of loading gear onto something this size and trying to go even a 100 miles. I know Honda Cubs and Passports are everywhere in all parts of the world, but do they ever go far from the home/cycle-owner's tool box ? Nevertheless, I'm buying, 'cause it is indeed better than any 100 or 125cc I have researched the past 3 weeks, including SYM , KYMCO, even Yamaha Zuma (older ones nearer the 2010 Honda to be fair.) And even not sure if I believe all this or not, I completely enjoyed the presentation and the stories ! ! ! That was fun.

      @@john21031 ...I'm buying one tomorrow...beautiful paint and chrome, 5256 miles, and paying a premium price. But I've had Honda 350cc cycles that went 36, 000 miles with no engine problems, so I hope I'm getting one almost as reliable as yours !!! I loved your video.

      +tiehut So you did these trips all OFF-highway? I know they're not allowed, which is why it never occurred to me, but then seeing your videos made me think perhaps you did ... no, in the beginning you do say it's 70% highway miles. You have guts

    Honda should give this guy a new PCX150 in gratitude for excellence in explaining how quality engineering pays big dividends for everyone. Ten years later and these 110s are going for $1500 -2000 in good condition.here in Chicago...:))

    you can blow the dirt out of the air filter with an air compressor, this may double its life. i detail the whole motorcycle by spraying it with wd 40 and wiping it down with rags. a finishing buffing compound , like scratch out will remove marks and degrease the bodywork. thanks for yr channel, i enjoyed it

      +polok890 Thanks polok, yeah, I plan to take the filter to a shop and ask them to blow it out. Never heard of washing the bike with WD40, but I imagine it would not hurt it. Thanks for the positive comment.

    *#1, you sure LOVE putting reflective-tape on all your 2-wheelers!*
    *#2, you can easily boost power-output with upgrades on the CVT assembly...like rollers, belt, air-filter, full-synthetic 10/40. and easiest of all, add some 'Octane-Booster' to increase compression*
    *My '08 'Metropolitan' hits 42-mph w/a 220lb. rider, and stays at 28-mph unless the grade is severely steep*
    (I wonder if there is a 'restrictor-plate' on the air-intake...that would explain a 50-mph 'top-end' which is the first I've ever heard-of
    for 110 'Elite' being that slow! *It should top-out at 60!* )

      @@omnesilere *Honda doesn't want people getting killed on their scooters, so they deliberately restrict air-intakes on smaller models*
      *Speeds higher than 50-mph on a short-wheelbase scoots with smaller than 14-inch wheels is a 'recipe for disaster' because scoots aren't designed to handle pot-holes or road-chunks hitting the front-wheel and skewing it right over instantly at higher speeds than the dimensions can handle*

      So...why no 'upgrades' to the power-train? Install a high-performance variator and a 'Kevlar-belt' and of course, the 6.5 gram 'rollers' (they usually come w/the variator kit) and your top-end will jump to 65 or better and 40 on steep, long upgrades.There is NO reason for your '110' to 'crawl up-hill' or not be able to keep-up w/traffic at 55mph! Change to 'high-performance spark-plug as well will make a big difference w/high-octane fuel.Why 'mix' different viscosities? To achieve what? Just use the 'mix' as per rating...'mixing' different viscosities of oil will NOT result in a 'new number'.'20SAE +40SAE does not = 60SAE......nor will it equal '30SAE'.'Oil' is not a 'numerical-function'.(oh...and next time? Turn OFF the water in there! It's really annoying on the audio track!)

    How in the heck did you go cross country on this thing?! Lol. I have the same scooter. I bought mine in Tn as well. Was it a little slow for cross country travel? I had a typhoon 125 that topped out at 62 mph. I might would have I taken it on long trips. I would love to know your route and stops you made for sleep. I may try this myself. I have 3001 miles on mine

    • @john21031

      +joegolden481 Hi Joe, it definitely is not fast, but I took a leisurely two weeks to do it. I rode with a passenger and we stopped along to visit national parks. It definitely is too slow for most people but I've ridden a bicycle cross country so riding the Elite is a peace of cake compared to that. :) At 3001 your scoot is just a kid and should last a long time. Enjoy it!

      +john21031 how'd you ride it on the highway? without getting in trouble?

    • @john21031
      @john21031  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +joegolden481 It sure is not fast enough to even be on the freeway. I actually was with a passenger and we took a leisurely ride that took a bit over 2 weeks. The roads were "less traveled", just county hwys, occasionally state highways. Stopped by several national parks (Carlsbad Caverns, White Sands, etc). Did some stretches of route 66. To choose the slow roads, you can try to use bike routes (either google) or something like adventure cycling maps (www.adventurecycling.org/routes-and-maps/adventure-cycling-route-network/).
      Enjoy it safely! It's an amazing scoot. Mine currently has 19K as I've been riding other bikes lately but it will be used a lot this coming summer.

    • @JoeCnNd
      @JoeCnNd 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just seen this response. I was under the impression you took the highways. I think the pcx150 might be the limit of what scooter could do on highway. Even that isn't that safe.

      @jamesconner3437 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Two years later, but for readers' info here, if a Honda does not start after only a month, cool weather or not, most likely your battery is weak or dead. Need to run the scooter a few miles every couple of weeks just to keep it in full charge, or buy a good "trickle charger" that will keep the stored battery near full charge when you don't go out regularly.
