WHY THIS IS THE MOST UNIQUE PLACE IN THE AZORES | Impressions of Faial Island

To celebrate the end of summer I embarked on a little journey to one of my most favorite places here in the Azores. Each time I visit Capelinhos on Faial Island it's like finding wonderland. Its landscape is breathtaking and otherworldly and its spirit is so pure and wondrous. It truly is a privilege to sit with a place which didn't even exist 70 years ago and to soak up its peacefulness. I hope it brings you some joy.

A little bit about myself

My name is Rahel, I'm from Germany and in 2015 I moved to the Azores to work as a second skipper for a Whale-watching company. In 2020 I lost my job and began filming to document and share the mesmerizing landscape and peacefulness of this remote place in the middle of the Atlantic. Now I make videos full time and live a simple and quiet island life in an old stone house on Pico Island.
In my slow paced videos you get to explore unique nature and a different way of living and perceiving life.
