Barbs, I absolutely love your channel! I am a complete geography nerd, and I can always find something in one of your episodes that fascinates me! I just wanted to let you know that as much as I love your channel, I really think the quick history section isn't needed. You run through it so quick and don't really explain much that I find it kind of confusing. I'm not sure how other people feel , but I truly do come for the geography! There are plenty of history youtube channels for that! I just thought that you could use that time to go more in depth about history that directly impacts the formation of the people, land, culture, or relationships, which is what you usually focus on! Again, no hate, mostly love, but if just love to see you use that time to explain some of the most geography-related history!! Greetings from Indiana, the Crossroads of the the US, ~Nick!
Im half turkish half mauritian and ive always been closer to my turkish side, however i have always wanted to find out more about my mauritian heritage and the culture. Namaste I'm Mauritian born in liverpool,uk. Moved to Mauritius spent my childhood there then moved to Manchester,Uk. my friends are always asking me about Mauritius. Grew up in a Hindu family. grandparents spoke bhojipuri and family spoke creole. I watched French cartoons, movies and went to a french speaking school. Watched kung fu movies with english subtitles. Already knew how to speak English. Learnt Hindi from Bollywood movies and learnt some sanskrit from Hindu prayers and family time. Well its really tricky to explain that to people and of all the different cultures and backgrounds in Mauritius and how it got discovered. pretty much everything you've covered in this video. and now I can send them this video! Merci!
In friendzone you forgot South Africa which is its first economic partner in africa and there's a lot of (white) south africans living in mauritius You also forgot to say that le morne is a unesco world heritage and apravasee ghaat as well (which is where the engaged workers were transiting to come to mauritius)... Too bad you didn't talk about the endemic fauna as well (and the sucessfull program to save them) And i khow the name if the waterfall is victoria falls... But you have seven waterfalls (7 cascades) which are beautiful as well and you can do canyoning and there's rochester falls as well And the picture you showed for grand baie was actually the caudan waterfront in Port Louis It would have been interesting to elaborate on the chagosian people who were deported in terrible conditions by the british in order for the US to build an army base on Diego Garcia the main Island
I would get Mauritius & Maldives mixed up so much. They both start with letter m. & Both are small island nations in Indian Ocean. Not any more though because I had taken to learn the difference between them 😅

Yes, l'île Maurice and Lille Maurice are pronounced the same. It was a self-deprecating pun, because Mauritius is considered a tropical paradise, while Lille is a grey industrial town.
Putain c'est vrai est trop drôle ce truc
My first crush in high school was a half Mauritian girl. She looked like a very ambiguous mix, olive skin, I thought she was beautiful.
I'm pretty sure things progressed with her. There are many Mauritian women who have an interest in European, Aussie, American and Canadian guys
Turns out this country is way more exciting than i thought, as an Indian i would love to visit this place ♥️
Stay away
I've been waiting 87 years for the Mexico episode. It's finally so close!
😂😂😂
SEEEGGGAAAA! Gotta love 90’s vídeo game references.
I’ve been waiting forever to hear the words “Mexico is coming up next!” It’s gonna be epic!

It's been built up so much. Have been anticipating it for a while!
well, all of those things are actually over, sooo
@@taintedtaylor2586 idk if he can. Usually when you make consistent content with an audience that is expecting you to post every Wednesday it's hard to tell.
08:38 Kaise ho, babua? 😂😂😂 As an Indian I was laughing my ass out!! I never knew if it could be ever pronounced like that!! But nice try and I love your videos..
They aren't Indian descent so their pronunciation is obviously off.
Most MAURITIans are of bihari decent
Just 4 fun guys!!
I'm from Mauritius
It's a beautiful paradise island🌺
did the government pay you off to say this?
I'm very excited for the Mexico episode obvious reasons.

Ah that's really cool! French is my second language and i could understand that after reading it twice. I'll bet i wouldnt understand speech so well though. Does spoken mauritian have strongly french pronunciation?
@@bl8757 Yes it really does! That's why kreol people watch French cartoons!
It's Creole
I visited Mauritius this summer and it was great
That's funny because all the french names of the towns are about the geography of the places ! And I like how Paul does say these names : he has a very special french accent ! 🇫🇷
Que bello es MAURICIO!♥️😍🇲🇺
Excited for MEXICO!
Home ❤️ 🇲🇺 ❤️ also the island of tropical beach dogs - legit go to the beach and play with dogs it’s good they actually look clean too (basically paradise)
I’m from mauritius and there is a lot of thing I didn’t know 😂
Sad
Last time I showed a picture of Tian An Men to a Mauritian. He asked me whether it was my house... 😂I wanna cry .
Hey GN, why don't you release the Mexico episode, in Mexico's independence?
Mexico's independence is on the 16th of September. (or on the 15th, whichever you prefer)
shut the hell up, I want to believe he'll grant my wish
Yep. I mail them with the same idea
Thanks, I actually mailed him too!
Mejor el 12 y también está el fan/flag Friday el viernes 14, se pueden volver virales el 15, de todos modos en México no vemos cosas en inglés
De cualquier manera, será en la semana de independencia. No pudo haber mejor coincidencia 🇲🇽
I had a project for Renewable Energy in Mauritius in 2010, I even landed on Rodrigues. So much fun to see this documentary. I would like to return.

Yav Ish cool!
Dornix Rex i miss home 🥺🥺
I do too!
How is Mauritius?
Barbs,
I absolutely love your channel!
Hello ! Thank you sooo much for this very positive description of Mauritius attractions !
Indeed ,The Republic of Mauritius is a Paradise !
you'll be telling me next that hell is only a stopover on the way there.
Im half turkish half mauritian and ive always been closer to my turkish side, however i have always wanted to find out more about my mauritian heritage and the culture. Ive only been there twice when i was young but i loved it so much and created so many memories (my favourite being riding tortoises) i wish to return one day and see my family again in their own houses. Thanks for the video i learnt alot 😁
Merci!
@Why So Serious!!!! I understand a little but can not speak it.. sorry 😅
Lots of love 💗😘 to Mauritius 🇲🇺 from India 🇮🇳
Drop it out, leave us alone there's no connection
I can see some Portuguese names like Rodrigues and Vacoas.
Rodrigues/Rodriguez is also a Spanish name
with z is spanish.
MEXICO!!!!!! I've been waiting for you for a looong time!!!
Beautiful Mauritius.. A lots of love from India. We will always have a place for you in our heart and on our land.
We don't for you
In friendzone you forgot South Africa which is its first economic partner in africa and there's a lot of (white) south africans living in mauritius
You also forgot to say that le morne is a unesco world heritage and apravasee ghaat as well (which is where the engaged workers were transiting to come to mauritius)... Too bad you didn't talk about the endemic fauna as well (and the sucessfull program to save them)
And i khow the name if the waterfall is victoria falls... But you have seven waterfalls (7 cascades) which are beautiful as well and you can do canyoning and there's rochester falls as well
And the picture you showed for grand baie was actually the caudan waterfront in Port Louis
It would have been interesting to elaborate on the chagosian people who were deported in terrible conditions by the british in order for the US to build an army base on Diego Garcia the main Island
True despite being a Mauritian South Africa has help us in many ways to develop our country like antrepreneurs. Also it ia Apravasi Ghat.
I’m literally just like his friend. My mums from Mauritius and live in the UK
I also have family that live in moka
Am from Mauritian and actually discover stuff about my country here.

I never knew Mauritius could be so interesting!
thank you so much for including Mauritius!
I would get Mauritius & Maldives mixed up so much. They both start with letter m. & Both are small island nations in Indian Ocean.
Not any more though because I had taken to learn the difference between them 😅
Boy i’m feeling down after watching the adventure time finale and this just came right on time for emotional support and or comic relief
Do you live in Monaco ?
Very well impressed with the country after watching the episode. It's definitely on my bucket list of places to go now! And how cool is Nick as a host? Get him back for the Reunion Island episode.
Reunion island is not a country
You're right! My bad
Finally, México is next!!! 😄🇲🇽
Love Mexico from USA 💓💓
Finally Mexico is up next🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
@Provocateur What.. The India episode was released many months ago
I’m from Mexico and no... i’m not here to celebrate the following episode on Mexico but to mention that DJ Ravin is another internationally famous Mauritian today. Love to Mauritius 🇲🇺 from Mexico 🇲🇽!!! ❤️

Mauritius has a lot in common with Trinidad.
Champagne Thompson yes indeed we have a lot in common. I saw a video from Trinidad lastly I though that it was Mauritius 🇲🇺
Sister because Mauritius, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname ,Guyana has a lot in common with India
Are you sure about that despite being Mauritian
It seems that we might be a lost cousins or maybe it is a coincedence.
Very sorry to hear about the recent oil spill, hopefully Mauritians will get back on their feet
Love from the United States of America to Mauritius! 🇺🇸❤️🇲🇺
