    Shane played good as usual. I wonder if he has considered a real snooker cue? It could help to refine his snooker game. If i was him i would look into it. I think he has the talent to beat anyone.

    I do not quite understand the winning conditions. It says “Best of 37 racks”, which would seem to be a race to 19. But then there is a time limit restriction of 140 minutes, and a (25) in the middle of the score area. What are they actually playing to? Is it a race, or a time limit, or some combination?

    • @thomasheal6286

    Something fishy going on, Looks like Shane play this game to lose. Even Amateurs don't miss the shots which he missed. At 2:17:55 he didn't effort to make the last ball.

    • @marshalcraft
      @marshalcraft 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Look at 2nd to last match, he runs table effortly in like 30 seconds which is typical of shane cause he plays 9 all the time which has much more difficult setups and shots usually. Everything about this looks like throwing a match, not near misses and bricks. He is sponsored by cuetech, I believe a chinese organization, maybe they told him to lose? Don't get me wrong Shi Hanquing is good, but you don't win 2 world 9 ball masters for nothing, why isn't Shi world champion of any of these events, or snooker?

    • @marshalcraft
      @marshalcraft 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean I'm pretty sure, in the final match, he plays with no draw, no forward top spin, no english, just dead center shots (kind of like zombie) not sure if he is just frustrated with narrow pockets and trying to just be really accurate, or joking?

    • @marshalcraft
      @marshalcraft 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also way he lose to europe in masconi cup, woodward and him, which don't get me wrong, but are both way better than shaw and filler?? Seems like euro, china, funny business, just look at our country, it's probably owned by eruope/china, this kind of like just a show for the world rulers

      It’s a Chinese pool table. Same size balls as American pool and same size tables. Just tighter pockets which is why Americans won’t do any good at the game.

  • @davidhunternyc1
    @davidhunternyc1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Did anyone notice that Shi Hanqing was using a snooker cue? Not only that but it was a standard snooker cue with a narrow tip. Further proof that snooker players are supreme. Snooker players can play American style pool but American style pool players can't play snooker. Shi Hanqing was humble too. Very nice to see.

      Yeah, it's literally just a 9ft snooker table. Funny, cause my mate and I used to play with American pool balls on a snooker table for fun like 10 years ago and we'd always get strange looks or even people thinking they're funny making the same jokes over and over again like "I think they've given you fellas the wrong balls!", but I played the same with a friend not long ago and someone was watching and said "they should get a proper Chinese 8 ball table in here, it's gonna become a really popular game in the next 10 years I reckon!". Couldn't agree more.

    seems like there is a difference in pattern play where you try to avoid long and thin cuts. hanqing is bumping balls much more easily and is able to incorporate that in some racks.. shane's speed and anxiety getting to him i think.

    • @bathhatingcat8626
      @bathhatingcat8626 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      on a chinese table it's extremely hard to put balls into the corner pockets when the balls are close to the rails. you must shoot slow and have pin point aim. on the contrary, as long as you shoot slow, balls seem to drop into the sides from crazy angles. i've lived in china 6 years and play everyday

  • @alvinator5203
    @alvinator5203 6 ปีที่แล้ว +24

    Chinese tables have never been Shane's talent. American pool players rely too much on cheating pockets that's it's been ingrained in teachings. This isn't the first time Shane's lost at Chinese pool. These tables won't let you cheat the corner pockets like American tables. Although, it's interesting that Hanqing has a regular break cue, but uses a snooker cue for play. It's not common unless you played as a snooker player. Good upload for sure though!

    • @adimz
      @adimz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's very common, as an American who lives in the North East of China, I have noticed most Chinese players prefer to play with a snooker cue.

    • @bathhatingcat8626
      @bathhatingcat8626 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      chinese tables are awful. i've lived in china 6 years. you must play slow and conservative. it makes for a very boring game and makes it impossible for beginners to start because they have such a hard time getting balls in holes. i take 4 vacations a year to other parts of asia with normal tables and I'm always surprised how much better the chinese table has made me and i'm also surprised by how terrible i play on the chinese tables for a few weeks after i get back. chinese tables are only for people who love pool (you need patience) and are pretty good (because you'll never learn to position the ball if you can't make shots). making 2-4 balls just isn't fun. running racks is fun and that just doesn't happen on the chinese table

    • @jimwatts7489
      @jimwatts7489 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I can't remember when the last Chinese Snooker player won in the USA?!?!?!? I guess it's all in where you are geographicaly. Shane looked disinterested from the start. He probably threw the game so the Chinese would buy from his sponsors. It's a way of doing business over there "losing face" is the phrase all the business people know when doing business there, don't cause them to loose face.

  • @TheJohnCooper
    @TheJohnCooper 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This is where American pool players get unstuck. They don’t have the technicality to excel at this. Whereas it’s always the Brits that do well because they have a solid snooker foundation. Melling getting to final etc.

    • @Zombies8MyPizza
      @Zombies8MyPizza 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Even if they didn't play snooker, the pockets on English pool tables are even tighter than snooker tables, with 3" pockets and 2" balls as standard. With guys like Potts, Melling and Hill all coming from that background, and being well experienced in the game of 8 ball, no surprise to see them doing so well at this game tbf. For someone like Shane to look like a clown playing this game is quite astounding, just shows how lax the players of the American game can be with their fundamentals because of how loose the pockets play in their own game.

    Regarding one comment that Chinese 8 ball players will beat american 8 ball players anytime. There's no such thing as 8 ball american players. American pool players played different pool disciplines including 8, 9, and 10 ball. Not to forget, there are 1-pocket, bank pool and rotation. Also, they played in a different table, so if a chinese pool player will play american type pool table, they will see the difference. Same thing applies with filipino pool players here too in our country, they are not focusing on one game, instead at their beginning stage of playing pool, you need to master the game of 15 ball rotation, which you need to pot the ball in chronological manner in order to reach the score of 61 and above. After that, 8 ball, 9 ball, and 10 ball are easy. Stop denoting the superiority of the sport because of the pocket size, much fitting and respectable way to asses this is to appreciate players who work their ass off just to excel on this game regardless of the aspect of pocket size. There are many aspect beyond potting the ball, of course the goal is to pocket the ball hence the umbrella term of pool is pocket billiards, but let's not forget the other side of pool that makes it very beautiful: bank shots, kicking, angles, spin control, the physics, the psychological aspect, the safety, patterns, and many more. I hope @Thomas Heal will see this comment and understand my point.
