You know, it is absolutely disgusting how we pay so much in taxes in the USA and yet we can't get decemt insurance or medical care without major financial sacrifice that most simply can't afford. Especially the elderly, having to choose between food and medication that they need to live. Yet the folks who don't want to work can have ALL the "help" they need, becoming a drain on the rest of us. I love living in tbe US but I hate it at the same time. WE CAN DO BETTER!!!

The Affordable Care Act is a gradual process. Many portions have taken effect already, such as people up until 26 on their parents insurance, no lifetime limit, any preexisting conditions. The main portion, the actual healthcare portion takes effect 2014. It's in stages. If you meant a single payer type system.. well.. he should of rammed that through as that's the best system but this is a HUGE step for America, and we'll get to a decent system soon.

My insurance has also gone what used to be 20$ for co pay now is 40$ and that's just at a doctor office to be checked out . Hospital bills are so high with insurance that I better be damn near dead before I'm there. It's crazy

Rosemarie Aguilera [Priest ES] The downside of universal healthcare is that it results in long wait times, people being turned away, and people ultimately dying while waiting for care. When I was in Canada last summer, I met someone who nearly died of appendicitis because the hospital she went to was full to capacity, and the nearest hospital was three hours away across the border in the US. Guess what? The US hospital took her back immediately. Go figure.
