Oh she's an idiot, just an absolute idiot. Because Judge Judy was trying to be nice and help her figure this issue out. But she won't be helpful because the plaintiff's so stubborn, and that makes her a fool. A VERY BIG ONE. Because Judge Judy keeps telling her what the law says.
"Both of them said, 'In California--'" "Don't tell me what they said." "Of course. In California--" "DON'T. TELL. ME. WHAT. THEY. SAID!" That made me laugh LOL
whenever I hear "they said" and they are not present in court....I'm like "HEARSAY!!". I just love how JJ immediately stops you before you make a hearsay
I realised later she probably misunderstood JJ and thought the issue was the preamble bit "both of them said" Not without sympathy for her, but it's sad that she was so set in her belief the guy scammed him that she didn't seem like she was paying any attention to what was being said, especially since JJ's line of questioning was trying to let her see he wasn't the scammer.
My dad did this to me. Sold my car to 5 different people without my knowledge, and I got a whole bunch of people suing me. I had to hire a private investigator to hunt my dad and gather evidence of his fraud. Don't buy cars from anybody. Go to a proper well known dealership.
What eventually happened? We're the civil suits against you dropped? Did your dad get charged criminally? Gosh what an awful thing to do to your own kid 😢
@@lennellwaltonboxer your advice is very good, however I foolishly lost a $100 deposit years ago. A guy was selling a car on Craigslist for $2700, and I went to his house to see the car. As I drove up, he was working on two cars in his garage (neither one was the car I went to see). From the looks of his garage, it appeared like he works on cars all the time. I test-drove the car that I came to see, and I liked it. I asked him if he had title IN HIS POSSESSION, and could I see it. He said he did have title, but he would need to get it out of his bank, and my $100 deposit would be used to get it out. This all occurred on a Sunday. So I gave him $100 cash, and had him sign a receipt, stating that I needed to have the car and title by the next day, Monday, and he would then get the remaining $2600. He said no problem. The next day I called him to finish the transaction, and he said he wasn't able to get to the bank, and he didn't have enough money to get his title out, and I was mad that I didn't get my car. But then I foolishly thought that it was me who was in default of the deal, but later on I thought about it more, and I should have insisted on my $100 back. He was in default, not me. Moral of the story; insist on seeing the actual title, and verify the name on it.
Looks like both he and she were scammed. She might be suing the wrong person, but she might not be able to find the other guy. She can't prove the defendant conspired with someone else or posed as someone else.
I do not think the defendant engaged in a criminal conspiracy to commit fraud. I think the Charles person committed fraud against the defendant, and, using that second set of keys, swiped the car while the defendant was out of town, then found a new sucker in the plaintiff. I feel sorry for both parties for being scammed, but the plaintiff has no case, unless part three brings out some killer proof that the defendant actually was engaged in a criminal conspiracy.
Is it not the case that they both bought a car from Charles Griffin without the title? He scammed them both. The defendant should not have been called.
I think, without having talked to him and learning how his wife's ID was in the thief's possession, she just invented this story in her head, like JJ said.
Yup it sucks but I hope she learned her lesson. It seems like the older gentleman that’s the defendant came to terms that he was scammed, but she isn’t.
She think she knows no better. She even admitted that the defendant was scammed by Charles but she still think the defendant scammed her, even though he didn’t. 🤣
This is why you always meet at the DMV. When they, the DMV, confirms it has a clear title, you exchange money and instantly title it into your name. Should be required to meet at the DMV for every private party sale.
One guy scammed them both and used the defendant’s info to perpetuate his charade. She’s literally falling for it exactly as planned. Takes her off the real scammer’s trail.
I can't believe the plaintiff seriously thinks she was being a good detective thinking she had factual fraud evidence against the defendant and that judge Judy would side with her😂
Question to my JJ crew/family..first I want to say that I LOVE the fact that JJ doesn’t allow testimony from people who aren’t there and explains that it’s “hearsay”…my question is why doesn’t she allow notarized letters or written statements as testimony? Also she’s the only judge I’ve seen do this
Hearsay is an actual concept. She doesn't allow it because the person/entity isn't there personally that she can question. The fact that she can't question them can lead to anyone stating what they were told is solid truth and be a part of offical record.
I can't get over her still trying to tell JJ what they said after she said don't tell me what they said. 🤣 That just proves that people do not listen when they're so deep in their own 💩 and trying to make it true.
Two scammed, police doesn’t give a dog’s fart about them, scammer laughing while watching this… I think the problem here is the so police and the sheriff
The plaintiff seems intelligent, so it’s strange that she was dumb enough to give $7,000 in cash to a stranger. Maybe she’s intellectually smart, but lacks common sense. She’s really young, so maybe she didn’t know better.
I have been buying cars professionally for 25 years. If you are a regular peson NEVER buy a ca without a CLEAN title. So no lienholders. Only if you ae very very knowledgable should you buy a car without a valid title. Thee are ways around the no title issue but most people do not understand it . If you love your money then only buy a car with title. In the state of California also neve buy a ca wthout a valid smogcertificate.
That poor bloke he's older wiser and has accepted he's been scammed. She can't accept it

Wow!!! She is so determined that the story in her head is the right one. Bad deal for both of them.
She's a total creep.
She'll insist on getting someone ARRESTED and I fear for her and a Lazy Police officer meeting up! It's going to be horrible for someone!
Say what you want about the plaintiff, but she is determined, intelligent and well-spoken. My guess is she will be a successful, productive citizen

Girl, u suing the wrong guy. The Charles dude scammed both of them. They both need to hunt Charles and sue him.
If that's even his real name.... 😢
it's 2024. Even back in 2018, any intelligent person should already know that Craigslist was the best place to scam or get scammed. :(
I get most all my cars from Craigslist. If you are savvy, it's no worse than buying from a dealership.
Let me give you thousands of dollars and you can mail the title!😅
The plaintiff seems to think she's the bees knees and thinks she still can get money out of the wrong guy.
The Bee's knees? What about the Cat's Pajamas? Now who's the Hep Cat? Far out. 😄
The plaintiff is confidently wrong. Smh… she’s not even trying to entertain the idea that the other guy defrauded her and the defendant.
I'm glad Judge Judy is smart enough to railroad a plaintiff who has wrongly convinced herself she is smart.
Well she isn’t dumb
JUDGE JUDY IS AS SMART AS A TACK FOR SURE.
Are they sure the guy wasn’t named PETER Griffin? 😂
Okay that “NEEEEXT” was perfect
For some reason the plaintiff really pisses me off
She is just upset that she got scammed.
This girl wants someone to be held responsible for scamming her. Unfortunately she’s trying to go after someone who was also scammed!
This is exactly what I’m like when I watch Unsolved Mysteries… 😂😂😂 i think I’ve got it all figured out
When the young guy jumped up😂😂😂😂
His title referred to him as her boyfriend.
What is she upset about? That someone else sold her a stolen car? How is that his fault?
So is Charles related to Peter, maybe he is at his hideout in Quohog
What kills me is someone thinking they could get a 3 year old car for 5k or 7k!
This young lady must think that she is a private I .😅😅😅😅😊😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😊
