I am asking one question for the all the media people you have the guts to talk about other religion mistake? Like Islamic and Christianity. I am accepting in Hinduism lot of politics are there. At the same time you all media people also whant to ask other religions mistakes also. why you are all shutting your mouth and don't even ask question like this for other religions gurus. Where is your camera and mic are going. why are you not taking much bold interview about other religions like Islamic and Christianity. Why in that religion there is no bad people? or there is no wrong Guru in that religions? All the time you media people only degrade Hindu people. At the same time if other religion people did some bad things also you don't care about that and you don't have the guts to show in media also. You all media people easily target only Hindus only. Here are my thoughts and points I agree with Ayyapan Ramasamy
1) We should let individuals decide for themselves in their lives. Whom you marry if choice which you make and not be enforced on you. You make the choice as an adult and live with the consequences good or bad.
2) Traditions for sake of traditions shouldn't be carried forward
Points I disagree with Ayyapan Ramasamy
1) Just because I can say one sloga in sanskrit, should I be allowed to do the job of a pujari.? To be honest, the interviewer's pronunciation of sloga was horribly wrong. It is like saying "akra mudla eluthellam, adi bawan mutre ulagu for instance instead of the more accurate agara Mudhala ezhuththellaam aadhi. bhagavan Mudhatre ulaku) . Also just because I was able to say one thirukural in broken tamil, should I be allowed to do the job of a Tamil lecturer because I have interest in Tamil and I was able to say one Thirukural (albeit with mistakes). Thats the kinda of attitude you are presenting. I agree with interviewer anyone should be allowed to do the Pooja but I do agree with interviewee that anyone who goes through the rigorous training and can get pronunciations right need to be doing the job. If you believe in God, then what you ask from him through slogas completely changes in meaning if you mess up with wrong pronunciation. Now if you ask will only brahmins get this right, it is absolutely illogical. Anyone who has passion to learn the vedas can go it. But you need dedication and 8 to 10 years of your life need to be spent in getting the necessary education. Treat this as any skilled work that we do. Can anyone be allowed to enter temple - Yes and there should not be any distinction. But put in the necessary work. Raise awareness and incentivize vedic schools that create priests. If a society and government has faith in this tradition and feels it is needed it will do it. However what is happening is the blame shifting where you just get 10 people in front of camera and say brahmin priests are not teaching these people. Go ahead and open formal education for vedic phatashala where anyone can participate and make sure it is done following the traditions.
2) Why do we need Aghama Sashtra? because certain temples were created and following this tradition for years following aghama. To be a priest at these temples, you follow set of training. Thats it !!! . If you question why do we need Aghama, you should have guts to question any religion that follows their tradition and not just one religion. Also there are plenty of temples in India which are created without following Aghama and you can visit any of them and anyone can be priest there. Goverment can also build temples following any sashtra it wants to if it feels there is need for it but questioning why do we need to follow something and showing myself as a rebel by breaking a tradition is just way to develop a more polarized society. Why is a temple being built in Hawaii mirroring the same construction pattern of Tanjore temple following all Agamas? www.himalayanacademy.com/monastery/temples/kadavul? Because people believe in it. Are all pujaris here brahmins? Absolutely not. There are not of white Priests (formerly christians) who have persevered for decade learning the mantras and leading lifestyle that fits the environment. Who are we to question established beliefs? And what is stopping us from creating temple of our own choice? Religion gives you total freedom to do what you want so lets do that without villainizing any sect of society.
2) Also I don't agree with interviewer that Brahmin association isn't giving voice for any social issues. Why is this question not raised to any other religious organizations in india? Any socially responsible individual or organization should be involved in greater societal issues. So this question should not just stop with one organization

1) Honestly not a lot since the way he put across his points didn't get through well to me. Irrespective of how others treat you, you need to treat people with respect and composure but somehow he looks unsettled and I couldn't get into his mind on what I want to agree.

1) Showing urself as brahmin thug because ruggedness helps to give you respect. I feel respect is earned through other means
2) Intercaste marriage issue and his archaic views on relationships
Brahmins are not the only castes in Tamil Nadu who have caste matrimonial websites and matrimonial mobile apps right?
The interviewer is trying to say that only Brahmins believe in caste based marriages which is hypocritical.
I am not a supporter of the person he interviewed but I feel that this interviewer also didn't give a satisfactory answer to any of the counter questions .
