  • Fitzgerald's nightclub in Berwyn brought the roaring back last Wednesday 2/21/24. They offered a lecture by mob historian John Binder and guitar maestro Joel Paterson and his quartet provided swing sounds before and after the talk. It was an apt location for such an event as in the 20's Fitzgerald's was called the Club Ritz and Capone gunman “Machinegun” Jack McGurn was a silent partner. The joint was packed to the point that the audience was louder than the band. Here is a couple of excerpts including a version of Chicago.
