    If you notice, Johnny isn't even playing chords, only strumming a muted guitar for percussion as they did not yet have a drummer, hence the Tennessee "Two". I think that this might be miming to the recorded single, but not bad for the times. Luther is animated as usual. Pure history here. This is the first Johnny Cash song that I learned on guitar. Absolutely timeless!❤

      @@walkingolga6235 the "capo" has always been a "suggestion" for me. The chords that they are playing are incredibly simple. I just play it in the first position and try not to worry about the speed of the tape or capo, it's simply just there!

    • @walkingolga6235
      @walkingolga6235 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@williammccready7278 well, yeah. capo only changes the song’s key, not the harmonic structure. the chords are easy. it’s a five-chord song with beginner chords that can be found in every guitar book. nobody asked you if you could play barre chords. what i said is still true. you may think a capo is only a “suggestion”, but every band member needs to know what key to play the song in…

    By all accounts, Elvis DID take his Karate seriously and put serious effort into it. And there are a small number of photos and film clips from the early 60s that show him throwing a decent enough kick. But he was also surrounded by Yes Men, that I strongly suspect "assisted" him in getting through his higher ranks (apparently a Cadillac was given around the time he tested for his 7th degree; though given Elvis's well-known penchant for generosity, I want to give the benefit of the doubt). Also, very unfortunately, by the last decade of his life a diet that would make a six year old see a cardiologist and his own personal Dr. Feel Good (it was hardly novel to the King at the time, but he had a view that if it came from a Dr, it was okay) had him a pittance of his former self. By the time he was working on "The New Gladiators", somebody really should have taken him aside and at least said "Buddy, it's a good idea, but lets get into really good shape first."
