I don't know about any of you, but I *really* admire those brave creatures that decided to get off their butts in the comfy oceans and to explore the land, which was hostile & barren & forbidding at the time. They are our planet's first explorers, and their courage and curiosity should be celebrated today.

We would never know what life existed 500 my ago cause a overwhelming majority of the species throughout history would never register in the fossil record.

Thanks so much, man. I hear so many educated scientists say there was absolutely zero land life 500 million years ago.
While I respect their professional opinions, that viewpoint has never sat well with me. It seems more likely things were as you describe in this vide by that time; with very primitive land life like fungi and basal arthropods kicking around on the surface.
Thanks again! Great content as always! You rock, friend.

A few years ago I purchased a small picture of a wagon engraved onto welsh slate around 500 million years old. I slept with the picture in my room and had the most bizarre, scary, enthralling dream. It was so real, I was transported to a time of darkness, complete stillness and nothingness, emptiness. Not a nice atmosphere at all. I saw no water but rocks of all sizes and a weird beetle thing came scurrying out. I’ll never forget this, it’s like I was there.

They need to do a movie like this. A ship goes back via some weird time warp to 500 million years ago. On the one hand that would be cool. On the other, there would hypothetically be very no food on land to hunt. The ocean would provide scant food with only those little creatures swimming around.
