Absolutely wonderful! I have loved this music since I first heard it at age 24 and I am now 64. Can't get enough of the Monteverdi Vespers, especially when done so expertly! Thank you!
for additional shivers on the spine (if you need them), picture two + one seraphs, clad in fire and everything, completely absorbed in the ecstasy and exuberance of the divine, whose daily job 24/7 is to sing this.
Astounding. Incomparable and immortal Monteverdi, exquisitely sung and played! I adore this music and can honestly say that this ensemble performance is the best I have heard.
Incredibly well performed! This is a very difficult piece to learn how to sing properly. Especially those Monteverdi "trillos" (I.e. bouncing on one note). And in keeping all 3 voices united as ONE voice! You guys did an amazing job!
Wonderful, very well sung and played. Sanctus Dominus Deus Sabaoth. Plena est omnis terra gloria ejus. Every time I hear this I am more and more convinced of the transcendental genius of Monteverdi, whose only rival for "Greatest of the Century" might be Schütz. The vocal virtuosity necessary to make this concerto work is pretty rare, but it is on display in full regalia here.
Oh yes, David. I completely agree with you. Monteverdi is king of composers in this time period. This was a beautiful performance of a sublime piece of music
We have two recordings available on our website in the store at www.tenet.nyc for Vespers of 1610 (one from our 2011 performance, and the other from our 2020 performance). Two of the three singers are different, but fantastic!
Francisco Guerrero (1528-1599)

Monteverdi's version is much more graphic textually than Guerrero's. I believe the text is from the Vulgate latin bible.
Obrigada,carolina ❤️
SPECTACULAR EXECUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
