@@replaylol1233 Expansions were alright. It all started with the DLCs... at first they were just added content and cosmetics, then it became dlcs for making progress faster and easier. Then starts the mobile game genre where the "upgrades" are locked behind a paywall. Then they added loot boxes... then they added "random" or luck-based upgrades that consumes paywalled currencies.
i think its just an asian version of a western arpg tbh. we shouldnt take this as an insult, as by example many great music bands try different styles throughout their carrier just to try something else.

This game just shows how far out of touch Blizzard is with their fan base. This company really grew on the backbones of Diablo 2 and World of Warcraft and those games 15-20 years ago were 2 of the best games ever created. They really should have just left it as purely a mobile game. To bring the mobile type aspect of pay to play to the PC version is beyond disrespectful. Not to mention, using the Diablo brand name to use as a cash grab game is disgusting as well. I am just absolutely mind boggled.

You don't need to spend money to make a clan. It can be created using in game currency. The issue is that it takes like 10 days to earn enough of that in game currency to make the clan. Really annoys me that since D2 Diablo games have all looked like cartoons. The whole reason I loved Diablo 1 and 2 was how dark and foreboding it was. This just looks like world of Warcraft to me. The only reason I even stomached D3 was cause I played couch co op with 2 friends. After we beat it, I never bothered playing it again.
Yeah, everything is so flashy, I can't have my sense of disbelief muted. 0 immersion. Like someone mentioned, you afk kill a boss by clicking once every 30 seconds then happily eating your sandwitch with no hands on the K&M (or controllers). 1 minute later, Cain "What you accomplished is miraculous" (or something like that). And lastly and more importantly... where is the sense of progression ? I had 0 of that from this 1 hour play. Level 1 ? 10 ? 20 ? Whatever, everything is the same. You just unlock a few more flashy things.
15 minutes in and you have lightning striking enemies behind you and shits exploding all over the screen ..this is d3 Not even 10 minutes later the game plays itself, fantastic, now nobody has to play it
Just think about how much dev resources, marketing and PM went into making this garbage and where it could’ve been spent better. Its absolutely mind blowing.

Here’s how I think: If the game is fun and doesn’t force me to pay/ask me all the time, I will buy things or watch ads to help out the game but ya if it’s in your face or basically forced to to continue on I’m done. As a truck driver I was excited go have something to do while sitting around waiting to get loaded or unloaded. It's fun but idk I'm waiting for an endgame review to see what it's like from an I'm not gonna pay money aspect.
I got to lvl 30 so far on PC and played some on my phone, it feels better on phone than PC. It's not a PC game, it's a phone game that everyone begged to be put on PC, and then everyone is confused why it plays like a mobile game. As a phone game it's not bad, I'm really hoping p2w doesn't affect solo gameplay and is only bad in PvP, which I will avoid. Even then, the story is nice so far, it's set between d2 and d3 so there are a lot of d2 characters popping up.

If shitty sequels or remakes happen to a piece of art you hold in high regard, in no way does it affect the original. If anything, it should make you appreciate it even more. The boss combat has a nice design. it's clear and well-timed and all, but sadly if you just ignore everything it still works out : / bosses and also all other enemies just have no damage
Well we actually just fought a world boss, blood rose, ppl keep messing up a mechanic where the boss heals if ur near it when u drop 2 bars of its life, turns out melee ppl always mess that up, i left the game and came back 1 hour later and those guys was still trying to beat it lol
This game is so cluttered. The Minimap in some spots randomly gets so large it takes up an entire 43" display at 3840x2160 making it extremely challenging to see the monsters.

You know, I know it's a funny meme to poop on the game, but (pay to win aside) it is honestly a really nice *mobile* game. And blizzard didn't even want to port it to PC, and after everyone begged them to, they're all making fun of it now. The controls honestly feel better playing on mobile than on PC. I know it's not the best game, but if all you have to game on is a phone it's actually a solid game. Now, as for the pay to win aspect, my expectations for mobile games go so far. As an always free to play mobile player, I will never try to play PvP games where I know someone can just buy better gear than me, that's just stupid. My expectations for this game is to simply have a fun single player, and possibly party, experience of some mindless grinding or story missions. I will never try to PvP because there is no point due to pay to win, so I will simply never run into issues with the pay to win aspect of the game, it's that simple. Also I am not defending pay to win, it's a horrible practice that should be outlawed, but as I said, my expectations only go so far, and this game does a decent job of fulfilling them.
what game are you comparing it to when you say its a really nice mobile game? the only thing i noticed from this video that it does "better" than other similar mobile games is that they have ripped the models from d3... if thats a good thing? other than that i see nothing unique at all about this - which is a big problem if blizzard wants to put their name on it. they actually seem to intentionally have gone for fewer interesting things to make sure the game is simple rather than trying anything new.
@@genesises I don't play action games on my phone, so I guess I can't compare to that, but to every other mobile game I've played, which literally time gates you unless you pay, immortal at least lets you play through the story fully w/o gating you at all. Obviously PvP is going to be P2W, and probably high end rift runs will be gated, but I believe most of the game to be available to free to play players, which is honestly more than I expect out of a free mobile game.
Had they announced Immortal at the same time as they talked about Diablo 4, like when Bethesda revealed Fallout 4 and Fallout Shelter at the same time, few would have as much negative feelings about this game, but when you try to hype a mediocre mobile game as the next big time it just shows how tone deaf your company is.
It's a watered down Diablo 3 with enhanced models. You can't get the best gems in the game without paying for them. Complete P2W package. Call it "Whale-ablo". I'll stick to any other dungeon crawler RPG on Steamdeck than play this absolute joke of a game.

Serious question: how is d3 or d immortal combat gameplay really that inferior from d2's combat? The most popular d2 builds in end game (where involved players spend most of their time) usually just mostly use one or two skills for damage and you just point in the general direction of things (sometimes even hitting monsters off screen since they are so lethal). Before you think I'm just trolling or think I'm some d3 or immortal fanboy: I played my fair share of d1, d2 (never really quit it since I was like 11), d3 and I started trying immortal today. I also played to a lesser extent Grim Dawn, Titan Quest, Torchlight 1 and 2, PoE, a bit of Wolcen and other not so relevant games of the genre. So I'm actually really asking, because I just don't get how one can say D2's combat is better. What are the arguments? To my taste, D2 has a lot of really good things (as I said, I still play it to this day), but I've seen better moment to moment combat in most of the titles I mentioned above. And also I have nothing against someone liking D2's combat better than all those titles, so don't feel attacked or anything.
The combat isn't inferior, it's really the items are way to easy to get in d3. It basically hands them to you each season, then the feel of the game is much brighter and more colorful. It doesn't have that dark feeling I get when I play d2. Also the story in d3 was ass lol.
I think it mostly comes down to freedom. As you said d2 builds you just spam a few buttons but YOU get to choose how you build your character and they provided many different tools to facilitate this. The diablo 3 philosophy was to let the set items or legendary force you how to play, not the other way around. You get more buttons to use but its the only buttons that worth using because of the silly set bonuses. One gameplay is similiar to an RPG. The other mimics MMORPG standards.
I don't think anyone can seriously argue that d2's combat is amazing by our modern standards. I think it's just really good at holding your attention. As you play through the game, the enemies consistently remain threatening. There's always something to watch out for, and the rare monsters keep you on your toes and engaged, because a serious threat could be around each corner. Health regeneration is also extremely rare and quite weak, so you can't just tank passively. The only way to stay alive is to avoid damage. (or actively fight if you have lifesteal) lest you run out of potions and have to annoyingly restock. Even a single hell fallen can kill a decently geared up character surprisingly quickly. Of course, you do eventually get to a point where the enemies pose very little threat, but the ammount of grinding it takes to get to that point is absurd, so i feel it's not very relevant.
This once again proves that modern Blizzard as game developers are not capable of doing anything unique and innovative. Their best projects in recent years - Diablo 2 remaster and WoW Classic? The best products are remasters of 20 years old games, it's just ridiculous. And then, they even managed to make a bad WC3 Reforged. I'm afraid the fate of Diablo 4 is already sealed, I would like to be wrong.

@@replaylol1233 Expansions were alright. It all started with the DLCs... at first they were just added content and cosmetics, then it became dlcs for making progress faster and easier. Then starts the mobile game genre where the "upgrades" are locked behind a paywall. Then they added loot boxes... then they added "random" or luck-based upgrades that consumes paywalled currencies.

This game just shows how far out of touch Blizzard is with their fan base. This company really grew on the backbones of Diablo 2 and World of Warcraft and those games 15-20 years ago were 2 of the best games ever created. They really should have just left it as purely a mobile game. To bring the mobile type aspect of pay to play to the PC version is beyond disrespectful. Not to mention, using the Diablo brand name to use as a cash grab game is disgusting as well. I am just absolutely mind boggled.

You don't need to spend money to make a clan. It can be created using in game currency. The issue is that it takes like 10 days to earn enough of that in game currency to make the clan. Well i have played it for two days. I am lvl 35, and whatever anyone tells you, in its core its still pay to win, maybe little bit less than other titles of the same kind. Your only option is to enjoy the game without comparing to others.

Really annoys me that since D2 Diablo games have all looked like cartoons. The whole reason I loved Diablo 1 and 2 was how dark and foreboding it was. This just looks like world of Warcraft to me. The only reason I even stomached D3 was cause I played couch co op with 2 friends. After we beat it, I never bothered playing it again.
Yeah, everything is so flashy, I can't have my sense of disbelief muted. 0 immersion. Like someone mentioned, you afk kill a boss by clicking once every 30 seconds then happily eating your sandwitch with no hands on the K&M (or controllers). 1 minute later, Cain "What you accomplished is miraculous" (or something like that). And lastly and more importantly... where is the sense of progression ? I had 0 of that from this 1 hour play. Level 1 ? 10 ? 20 ? Whatever, everything is the same. You just unlock a few more flashy things.

I got to lvl 30 so far on PC and played some on my phone, it feels better on phone than PC. It's not a PC game, it's a phone game that everyone begged to be put on PC, and then everyone is confused why it plays like a mobile game. As a phone game it's not bad, I'm really hoping p2w doesn't affect solo gameplay and is only bad in PvP, which I will avoid. Even then, the story is nice so far, it's set between d2 and d3 so there are a lot of d2 characters popping up.

Well we actually just fought a world boss, blood rose, ppl keep messing up a mechanic where the boss heals if ur near it when u drop 2 bars of its life, turns out melee ppl always mess that up, i left the game and came back 1 hour later and those guys was still trying to beat it lol

The Minimap in some spots randomly gets so large it takes up an entire 43" display at 3840x2160 making it extremely challenging to see the monsters.
I played for about 10 minutes before seeing a pay to win mechanic and immediately uninstalled this pile of hot garbage.

You know, I know it's a funny meme to poop on the game, but (pay to win aside) it is honestly a really nice *mobile* game. And blizzard didn't even want to port it to PC, and after everyone begged them to, they're all making fun of it now. The controls honestly feel better playing on mobile than on PC. I know it's not the best game, but if all you have to game on is a phone it's actually a solid game. Now, as for the pay to win aspect, my expectations for mobile games go so far. As an always free to play mobile player, I will never try to play PvP games where I know someone can just buy better gear than me, that's just stupid. My expectations for this game is to simply have a fun single player, and possibly party, experience of some mindless grinding or story missions. I will never try to PvP because there is no point due to pay to win, so I will simply never run into issues with the pay to win aspect of the game, it's that simple. Also I am not defending pay to win, it's a horrible practice that should be outlawed, but as I said, my expectations only go so far, and this game does a decent job of fulfilling them.
what game are you comparing it to when you say its a really nice mobile game? the only thing i noticed from this video that it does "better" than other similar mobile games is that they have ripped the models from d3... if thats a good thing? other than that i see nothing unique at all about this - which is a big problem if blizzard wants to put their name on it. they actually seem to intentionally have gone for fewer interesting things to make sure the game is simple rather than trying anything new.
@@genesises I don't play action games on my phone, so I guess I can't compare to that, but to every other mobile game I've played, which literally time gates you unless you pay, immortal at least lets you play through the story fully w/o gating you at all. Obviously PvP is going to be P2W, and probably high end rift runs will be gated, but I believe most of the game to be available to free to play players, which is honestly more than I expect out of a free mobile game.

Serious question: how is d3 or d immortal combat gameplay really that inferior from d2's combat? The most popular d2 builds in end game (where involved players spend most of their time) usually just mostly use one or two skills for damage and you just point in the general direction of things (sometimes even hitting monsters off screen since they are so lethal).
Before you think I'm just trolling or think I'm some d3 or immortal fanboy: I played my fair share of d1, d2 (never really quit it since I was like 11), d3 and I started trying immortal today. I also played to a lesser extent Grim Dawn, Titan Quest, Torchlight 1 and 2, PoE, a bit of Wolcen and other not so relevant games of the genre. So I'm actually really asking, because I just don't get how one can say D2's combat is better. What are the arguments? To my taste, D2 has a lot of really good things (as I said, I still play it to this day), but I've seen better moment to moment combat in most of the titles I mentioned above. And also I have nothing against someone liking D2's combat better than all those titles, so don't feel attacked or anything.

The combat isn't inferior, it's really the items are way to easy to get in d3. It basically hands them to you each season, then the feel of the game is much brighter and more colorful. It doesn't have that dark feeling I get when I play d2. Also the story in d3 was ass lol.
I think it mostly comes down to freedom. As you said d2 builds you just spam a few buttons but YOU get to choose how you build your character and they provided many different tools to facilitate this. The diablo 3 philosophy was to let the set items or legendary force you how to play, not the other way around. You get more buttons to use but its the only buttons that worth using because of the silly set bonuses. One gameplay is similiar to an RPG. The other mimics MMORPG standards.
I don't think anyone can seriously argue that d2's combat is amazing by our modern standards. I think it's just really good at holding your attention.
As you play through the game, the enemies consistently remain threatening. There's always something to watch out for, and the rare monsters keep you on your toes and engaged, because a serious threat could be around each corner.
Health regeneration is also extremely rare and quite weak, so you can't just tank passively. The only way to stay alive is to avoid damage. (or actively fight if you have lifesteal) lest you run out of potions and have to annoyingly restock. Even a single hell fallen can kill a decently geared up character surprisingly quickly.
Of course, you do eventually get to a point where the enemies pose very little threat, but the ammount of grinding it takes to get to that point is absurd, so i feel it's not very relevant.
I can concur with the statement that D2's balance feels better overall.

This once again proves that modern Blizzard as game developers are not capable of doing anything unique and innovative. Their best projects in recent years - Diablo 2 remaster and WoW Classic? The best products are remasters of 20 years old games, it's just ridiculous. And then, they even managed to make a bad WC3 Reforged.
