Emulating x86 to emulate another platform emulated on x86 seems obtuse. I compared this to the 155H and 8840HS. They both smoked it for PC gaming and PS2 and PS3 emulation. There's a reason for the capping the fps so that the gameplay is stable. You're more than welcome to make your own video since this one is clueless. 💀💀💀
I was having bigger hopes for X Elite but in all fairness, this thing has to go through so many translation layers. Lowkey, I wish that chip was shipped with a desktop AndroidOS solution. I'd jump on a Samsung DeX laptop using an X Elite but for Windows on ARM, I think this is too much to ask for too little performance in the trade.
Qualcomm really needs to start improving their GPUs. They had no reason to on mobile as Nvidia shifted Tegra to just AI crap and while Apple is a direct competitor in the mobile space, they're not an immediate competitor. And there really weren't any other threats on mobile, with not many games needing higher end GPUs on Android. Now though, they try to bring their anemic mobile GPUs to PC and they just can't actually touch AMD or even Intel on anything besides benchmarks (which don't matter).
Their gpus on mobile are bigger than apples. Beating apple in every benchmark in perf and efficiency, even rt. These games being bad could just be emulation problems.
I think part of the problem with Windows on ARM is while these advancements and improvements are welcome, what's the end goal here? Efficiency has improved on the x86 side and we don't need to deal with any translation layers/compatibility. Of course, I still can't resist my curiosity and so testing continues! 🔥

@@TheLazyGamers the only games out of the ones that he tested that isn’t on switch is god of war, because it’s a Sony game. And hades 2, which isn’t on any console yet but will likely also make it to the switch since the first ones on it. GTA V, I have no idea by it’s not on switch yet, but Doom eternal, stray, Ori and the blind forest and Tetris effect are all on switch. The thing that’s holding the switch back is its graphical capabilities, not its architecture. When the switch 2 comes out. Everyone is gonna try to get their games on that thing
How it works emulator android? Is it possible to install bluestacks and others?
Looks promising, and things are bound to improve. The sooner Windows is rid of Intel x86, the better.
For sure, this is a massive improvement over the prior gen Snapdragon Windows on ARM devices!
Emulating x86 to emulate another platform emulated on x86 seems obtuse. I compared this to the 155H and 8840HS. They both smoked it for PC gaming and PS2 and PS3 emulation. The translation layer does not have much ceiling for ARM to x86. Added: Heavier games on MAME like the newer Gauntlets also had X chip performance issues. Seems better to get a device with those chips. Still amazing battery life for lower resource tasks. Especially the 155H after recent updates.
If you can test out Linux, Ryujinx has a native Arm version for Linux
Can you try the galaxy book 4 edge bc it has the best snapdragon x elite 84-100 , I want to check if it deserve
I would love to since I’m curious about the higher end SKU. It’s just not in the budget after purchasing the Surface Pro 11 😅🙏
@@retrotechdadI am planning in buy the 1tb ssd / 16 microsoft surface 7 laptop but does it have the same performance in emulators? And do you need to charge the laptop for performance difference? + can you do another video focusing in ps2 games such as ape escape 2 / god hand / urban reign / dragon ball budokai tenkaichi please?
I tnk Ardeno X1 chips also supports Vulcan 1.3 with shader 6 .?.!
Can you run OBS on it??
I'm wondering if anyone has tried dual booting something like this with Android. I've seen certain Android native devices setup to Dual boot windows on arm, but doing that on this would be amazing
I like the way you think! I'll have to look into this. 🙏
Try using fex or box64 for cemu and rpcs3
Thank you for this, I will give this a try! 🙏
I want see it too, a arm soc running Wii U and PS3 emulatores😃
does emulation increases input lag?
Is it good with city skylines 2?
Snapdragon X Elite ❤❤❤
🔥🔥🔥
So this Eta prime youtuber.. Said about MSI Afterburner...aftecting FPS/Clunky running.... Could u make a New video/redo..... If it is indeed true... Apparently things Ran smoother turning off Afterburner and using a built in windowsn "Stock FPS indicator"
geforce now would be a good test on it, lets do it and see how it performs.
Much better than the paid crap ETAprime does. Almost something to note the top variant has a gpu thats 21% faster than this laptop, that should help
Thank you for that 🙏 I would've loved to check out the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge with the higher-end SKU of the SDX Elite.
EGPU Test!
What is the point of the video if you cap the fps and can’t see how it really performs ? This video is clueless 💀💀💀
The point of the video is to demonstrate the compatibility of Windows on ARM with x86 games. I made it clear that this is not an in-depth test of performance or benchmarking. There's a reason for the capping the fps so that the gameplay is stable.
You're more than welcome to make your own video since this one is clueless. 💀💀💀
Give me your laptop then 💅💀
😅🤣 Head on over! We can benchmark together 🙏
Can you try warthunder please?
I was having bigger hopes for X Elite but in all fairness, this thing has to go through so many translation layers. Lowkey, I wish that chip was shipped with a desktop AndroidOS solution. I'd jump on a Samsung DeX laptop using an X Elite but for Windows on ARM, I think this is too much to ask for too little performance in the trade.
Can u use egpu?
There's no ARM64 driver for eGPU, so it's not possible yet. Someone made a Shorts of it.
Would this run counter strike 2?
Just waiting for cheap arm windows devices to come
Yea, the cheapest right now is $999 for the Elite Plus.
@@retrotechdad will wait till it drops to $500
It will be a bit, Surface devices tend to hold their value quite well.
@@retrotechdad not the surface I meant to say about more devices will be released and then the price will become cheaper.
Online games ?
Where to get the windows version of aethersx2?
You have to do some digging since AetherSX2 has ceased development due to dev drama. But it's still there.
Now compare a good x86 pc to the arm x86 performance. Benchmarks
The question is what x86 CPU comes close to Snapdragon X Plus/Elite in terms of technical specs. There are lots of them.
I would've at least expected steam deck performance, but they are far away from that
Try emulating Windows on winlator on the Snapdragon X-Elite. 😂
Haha, great way to take my power grid down. 💥 🤯
$2,000 for an ARM chip.
not for gaming
Lots of things aren't for gaming, but it's still fun to test and try.
gaming performance similar to steam deck, it is fine.
Does NBA 2k24 work
history comming back , grafik bugs and low fps like allways on microsoft surface devices , big pass !!
Its clear if you want to game you need to buy its direct competition, Apple M series laptop.
$2000 hmm …
Starts at $999 for the Surface Laptop.
@@retrotechdadAnd all SKU starts at 16GB RAM.
This laptop is just sad. Won't even run the latest game at decent FPS and graphics settings. I feel bad for the people buying this for gaming 🤮
Handhelds that say LEG, laptops with ARM. Trading them in the marketplace will cost you an ARM and a LEG
Gta 5 run terrible compared to my gtx 970m laptop from 9 years ago ! Prisme is a joke, that's why bechmarchs came after release !
Give it some time, and Microsoft will figure it out.
Try winlator 😂
Basically in short, Windows ARM stills sucks.
I think part of the problem with Windows on ARM is while these advancements and improvements are welcome, what's the end goal here? Efficiency has improved on the x86 side and we don't need to deal with any translation layers/compatibility.
Of course, I still can't resist my curiosity and so testing continues! 🔥
@@retrotechdadI just want Linux to continue to grow as a gaming platform and Windows to become less bloated.
Gaming on arm sux, Windows on arm is awesome ! *
I'm still pretty impressed by what's happening here on the gaming side with the translation layer.
For a first iteration, qualcomm really nailed it !
ngl even the base m1 mac air is miles better than this....
1 lakh+ laptop and cant handle games. Its terrible. I don't know who its made for.
Lol, it can handle emulation without much problem. If you care much about desktop gaming, go for x86. ARM is great for those who want long battery life.
