- Olympia, WA is the capital city of the state of Washington and situated at the southern tip of the Puget Sound, surrounded by beautiful natural scenery and a rich cultural history.
Olympia offers a variety of attractions for visitors to explore. One of the most popular is the Washington State Capitol (10:30), which houses the offices of the Governor and the Legislature. Visitors can take a guided tour of the building and learn about the state's history and government. Another popular destination is the Hands On Children's Museum, which offers interactive exhibits and activities for kids of all ages. The city also has several parks and nature reserves, including Priest Point Park and the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, which offer opportunities for hiking, birdwatching, and wildlife viewing.

What’s beautiful Olympia. You return back for 30 years. I used to live in Tacoma and some time I drove up to beautiful Olympia & Saint Martin college. The Saint Martin college was very old college. The building of the college I remember was very old.
I left Olympia 30 years ago and haven’t been back. It doesn’t look like much has changed. A few new buildings and businesses but the core downtown is still the same.

Thank you for posting. Amazing to me how empty American towns are because I commit so much space to cars and asphalt and streets and so little space to actually creating a welcoming space for human beings
Thanks for your comments, and I've read your other comments too. Comparing US cities and European cities isn't straightforward because people have different lifestyles, and population density also plays a big role. Even within the US, cities on the west coast prefer outdoor activities on weekends, so you won't see as many people in downtown areas as you would in northeastern cities like NYC, Boston, and DC, where downtown areas are busy every day. Each city is unique, making it hard to compare them directly.

Things look good here compared to Portland. I was in Olympia in 2016 and saw open drug use on the streets downtown. Hard drugs, not just weed. Cops did nothing and didn't care. It was scary! Didn't one of Olympia's mayors get elected *after* he got caught selling drugs in front of an elementary school? That happened like a decade ago. I didn't know about any of that before I went there. I thought it was supposed to be a nice place. And it is still pretty nice, compared to Portland and Seattle.
Really? It was actually my first time being there when making this video and I felt that Olympia is a lovely, safe, beautiful town and I sensed the arts scene everywhere while walking on the streets. Can't believe that the city was that bad a few years back.
@@le_see Yeah, they were having a lot of political riots in the streets from 2016-2020. Maybe the local police/politicians put a stop to it? Last I checked, they defaced the homes of some of the town's politicians. But that was a few years back.
