- Driving around Yakima in 4k.
Yakima is a city in Washington state. It’s situated in the fertile Yakima Valley, known for its wineries and apple orchards. Yakima Valley Museum has exhibits on local history, including wooden wagons and a 1930s soda fountain. The Yakima Valley Trolleys criss-cross the area in summer. Bordering the Yakima River, the Yakima Area Arboretum encompasses gardens, natural areas and a large collection of trees.
It looks exactly how I remember it 25 years ago
I grew up there, until sometime after graduating from Eisenhower, then came back after about four years at NDSSS trade school (auto mech, auto body), then moved to "Greater Seattle" (BOEING). ;-)
Ah, yes on Yakima Ave, from the "Freezer" to the Freeway and back and I miss having a "Big Minor" burger. ;-D
What or who would you find between Naches Ave and Front St (or 1st), a block over north from Yakima Ave?
It's a shame its fallen on such hard times, I remember as a kid, picking apples and cherries with my sister and cousins, then working at Whistling Jacks (Elk season) and "Chapter 11" (when it first opened).
The peaches grown in the Wapato Valley are larger than those grown in the rest of the country!

I’ve been reading about the high crime rate there. Looking for a place in Washington to possibly buy a home, but it seems like the entire state is overrun with homelessness and crime. It’s a shame for such a beautiful place.
I think that's pretty much any place you go now these days has that my friend not just in my home state of Washington but the whole United States take a look at Los Angeles California the South side of Chicago Illinois the Bronx in new York City their places far worse i can assure you Yakima is nothing if you compare.
Sir I live her my whole life I don't recommend anything close to yakima that's just the crimes you hear about

Yakima just lacks renovations and street repairs wish they would make people take care of there lawns more makes it feel so ghetto but There’s a lot more to deal with we need more beautiful buildings everything also just feels boxy

When you took a drive by the Valley Mall, I was reminded of my short time working Security at the Yakima Mall.
Our daughter and grandkids used to live in Wapato. Awful place. So glad they moved tonthe tri-cities. Its much nicer there.
The Yakima valley itself is a beautiful place though...
Used to live there with my uncle, can't remember the address. that house was hunted AF. Now my uncle passed away a week ago.😪
I still recognize a few landmark buildings. Sad to know what the town has turned into.
I live in Terrace Heights just outside city limits its nice here but I plan on moving when I can cause I hate living in a Democratic State
I left Wa after living most my life there and will never go back.
