    Thank you so much for this video! It helped me fix my bobbin problem right away! I knew it was moving back and forth way too much and it would clunk every now and then. This worked perfectly!

    I’ve followed this video but my bobbin tension is still really loose. Are there any other adjustments that can be made to tighten the tension?

    Thank you!! I've been trying to get that screw loose without breaking it, not realizing it had a set screw. Wasn't going to happen!! :o)

    Thank you a lot. I have just bought a 746 in good condition. I am very used to vertical bobbins (I restored and use constantly my grandma 222K singer Featherweight). On the machine I bought, I find the bobbin tension very very loose, no resistance at all, which results on a needle thread tension at maximum 2. I messed aroud with the little screw on the bobbin case but it seems to have little to no effect. I wonder if you could give me a hint about how tight should be the right tension? Do you think that the old bobbins are the culcripts? Maybe the needle thread tension is too high? But I think it is right when I pull by hand at 4.

    What do you do if your bobbin thread jams?

    Any suggestions on adjusting the stitch. My stitch is not straight as it should be. every so many stitches one will be on an angle so that top stitching looks off. I don't think it is a tension issue because there is a pattern to the uneven stitching. It is a Touch and Sew 603. I have been sewing on this same machine for 56 years. It always had a nice straight stitch.

    Thank you for your very helpful videos. I recently bought a Singer 766 and I am a total begginer in sewing. I have tried to refill the bobin, but nothing moves arround it, in the bobin case. Could you please help me? Is maybe a setting I didn't make or can be something broken?

    When I stitch it all looks good on top, but underneath the thread is all looped in big wads of tangled loops. Bobbin thread adjustment somehow the problem? Something I can do?

    • @Dr_Bombay
      @Dr_Bombay 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i'm having this same issue on my 603E. i believe it's a tension problem, and it's tied to the tension knob up on the machine, not with the bobbin down below. but i could be wrong. it's like the bobbin and the tension below is winning the tug-of-war with the top stitching. i think it means you need to adjust the tension higher on the top stitch.

    • @cleatussfmo7437
      @cleatussfmo7437 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The thread tension will cause this problem. Heavier material requires higher tension. Use scrap material at the beginning of your project to adjust the tension correctly until you get the hang of it. Also, if sewing different materials together, rough or heavy material should be on bottom if possible.

      @@cleatussfmo7437 I have the tension as high as it will go and am still getting looping on the bottom even when I put very thin material through.

    • @Dr_Bombay
      @Dr_Bombay 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      hmm, i am not an expert by any means, so it's hard to say. you mention using a very thin material, though, so that leads me to think that having the tension so high is not right. have you tried starting from scratch, taking out your thread and everything, re-threading your bobbin, setting your tension as low as it goes, and then re-threading your machine and trying that? then if that's not right you can just adjust it up a bit at a time and hopefully find the sweet spot. it's frustrating for sure, but that's how i tend to trouble-shoot this sort of thing.

    I removed the tiny screw from the bobbin case, (just to the right if the "target" lever in the video) and now it will not screw back in. Also, the arm that holds the bobbin is is very loose, has no spring at all. Any suggestions?

    • @albertoortega6833
      @albertoortega6833 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      your missing a small piece of metal that tightens the screw and acts as a spring. when the screw got loose it probably fell look under your machine. i know this was a long time ago but it might help some else.

      You have to put the case back in at an angle, so the groove in the bobbin case slips into the lip on the rotating hook. Then oil it.

      @cleatussfmo7437 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not surenonbyour model, but the 600e has a bobbin release button under the access plate(some models or is located by the throat plate switch) ensure that button is not engaged and the case should slide in at kind of an angled motion from high right to low left(If looking in a flat horizontal view)

      Make sure the little "target" button inside, to the left of the bobbin, is pushed all the way to the left, it will click into place.

      I had the same problem. I made sure my needle was in the center position, as per the Needle Position knob on the face of the machine, (instrument panel) then I loosened the needle and held the foot steady as I tightened the needle screw back to tight.
      I hope this helps. 😊
