  • Anxiety is a growing concern among all age groups. There are natural remedies for reducing anxiety - exercise will work, and breathing techniques may help, but what about food?
There are foods that provide the brain with nutrients that lower anxiety symptoms. The good news for low-carb dieters is that the anxiety-easing foods I share in this video have fewer than 10 carbs per serving!

The key to eating dark chocolate, taught to my by a good friend, is to not chew it, but let it melt in your mouth. What a difference that makes. I can handle 90% if I just let it melt.

So true. Also good if you can sip some hot coffee or tea to facilitate melting.

I am happy you showed Ghirardelli chocolate Dr. Becky. A recent study found worrisome levels in lead and cadmium in many brands Ghirardelli is rate safe. Trader Joes rated high in contaminates as did very expensive gourmet brands .just do a search on heavy metal contamination in dark chocolate to read all about it

Steam a piece of salmon until flaky, or use canned. Mash completely with a fork. Add finely chopped green onion, plenty of dill, a bit of ground oats or flour, and a small egg. Form into small patties. Add olive or avocado oil to a frypan on low-medium heat. Add 1tbsp of fresh lemon juice, 1 tsp butter, and if you like capers, a tiny bit of the brine from them. Fry the patties until browned on both sides. For the last minute of cooking, add a few capers if you like. Place patties on a plate and pour the pan juices over them. Serve with fresh salad.

When I found that I could buy 100% unsweetened dark chocolate in the baking aisle, I was ecstatic! You see, I absolutely HATE sweet foods. Ever since I was a child, I could not eat sweet foods without gagging and/or throwing up. Even a carrot sometimes was too sweet for me, so you can imagine how happy I was to find 100% unsweetened dark chocolate in the baking aisle of my local grocery store. I break up the squares and have a few throughout the day. YUMMMM!!!!! I was also glad to learn that I could have my black coffee on the keto diet! The keto diet is PERFECT FOR ME! But I've known that for many years. I've been on the keto diet since before it even became popular. I attribute it to my complete wellness for as many years as I can remember. I've never had health insurance and don't to this very day. I'm 73 years old now with no medicare insurance and the only health problem I can remember was back when I was 15 years old and had a headache. I think the reason I remember it is because I'm so used to never having any health problem (not even a cold... ever) that it really impressed upon me the need for taking care of my health... which the keto diet does very well.

Hi Dr Becky....just sharing my journey here trying to lower my sugar levels....I was tested April 13 '23 Bloodwork of A1C 6.3% and Glucose fasting of 120 . Just retested(3 months latter) July7 '23 ...I am at A1C 5.5%(normal range) and fasting glucose of 96(normal range). I have lost 19 pounds so far by doing Keto and intermitting fasting of aprox 15 hrs a day sticking to about 20-25 net carbs per day and avoiding most sugar items except Yougurt 1 serving per day of 5 grams of sugar....I listen to all your videos here on youtube and Thank you for ALL the Wonderfull advice. My weight went from 210 to 191 and my goal is 180-185 then maintain that and keep in all normal sugar levels !!!!! So people out there like me....gotta give up the carbs....stick to the keto lifestyle and stay disciplined and you can improve your levels also.... Thanks again and I enjoy all your advice...💕

The only thing I might have is maybe a chocolate ice cream once in a while like I haven’t had one in a long time but there’s a good ice cream stand that’s near my friends house you know maybe we will go there once before the season is over, but cutting carbs has dropped. I adopted a no sugar/intermittent fasting/keto lifestyle 3.5 months ago. I went from 4-6 Tums a night to zero immediately. No more heartburn. I've lost 40 pounds. My body doesn't hurt like it used to. I sleep much better. I no longer take naps. My blood pressure has improved immensely. I no longer have bowel issues. In all this time, the only "cheating" I've done is to make one pot of chili last week, eating half (not in one sitting) and freezing the rest. Yet, in spite of all this, I still have strong cravings. I want cornbread, potatoes, pizza, pasta, and chocolate BAD. I'm starting to wonder if these cravings will EVER pass. I find it amazing, and scary, that in spite of all these positive bodily benefits, my mind is still trying to betray me. Having so few food choices is becoming more difficult. I'm beginning to wonder if this lifestyle is sustainable. HELP!
