A lot of them I didn't know. The one about the stair and Bolts was cool as I didn't know it but I typically use the Duplicate Special function for those. Especially if I need to make changes to the objects later and have it reflect on all of them. I really love how Maya has numerous ways to do the same thing so that people can find the most intuitive way for themselves and go from there.
I didn't know about the 7, 8, 10 and 12 ones, big THANKS Mike. For the tip at 3:23, you can also go to "Modify" in the menubar, and "center pivot"(or press "select" on the keyboard to pop the menu faster). Also if you've multiple meshes combined and you decide to separate them, you'll notice that they don't have their pivot centered, each of them, anymore(of course). So Instead of center them one by one, you just can select all of them and press the "center pivot" to go fast. For the tip at 3:38, you could've just select and extrude all the border edges around the center and after reselect them again, SHIFT+Right-Click and "Detach components" at the bottom.
such a great video Mike! I think a lot of these things you learn from getting creative and really getting good a problem solving. Ive learned a ton of things on my own from trial and error, and I definitely think I am a better modeler for it
Nice video, but if anyone is using maya 2020 and you already dont know these OR still needs to use these tools, go back in time and start with Maya 2015 :)
You're a great teacher thank you so much. I have a problem with animation,I don't know how to deal with keyframes. Could you please make a video animating a character step by step?
great it's speechless but sir I have a wish upon you ... & I hope you just fulfil it actually its not only for me but also the entire VFX & CG artist too sir please make a masterclass upon "Rotomation" “mocap from 2d tracking” using something like a tracking software that generates a rough match to live action plate, giving you depth, postion, rotate on to a skeleton from that track
how to work like modeling inside Room ...without hidding walls .......is there is way like if we go near wall to get inside room for modeling wall automatically disappears and reappears when we are far from wall model/ object...in scene views.
Most of those so called "tips & tricks" are just basic maya stuff... By the way for 1st trick (which is really trick) you should also hold J while scaling.
good god who would do all that to center your pivot lmfao. just got to modify, center pivot. holy smokes that first way just seems a terrible way to get the exact center
You are the best teacher I have ever seen.❤️❤️
Thank you so much
You most welcome.
1:57 connect components
