It makes the side quests more memorable even if most won’t ever hear it. I love RPG’s but side quests all felt like filler crap. Rebirth was the first RPG I’ve gone out of my way to do them all cause they were fun.

The amount of corpo-fascist propaganda that I’m excited for in FF7 is kinda the point of stuff like the Junon Parade though. You’re supposed to be drawn in by the aesthetic splendor and nostalgia as part of the commentary. The politics of this game are just as pointed as the original. If anything, they’re given more depth with the world intel and expanded location lore.
It really is the moments like this that make Final Fantasy so special to me. To be taken out of the fight solely due to the music will always be awesome. On an optional quest too! Remake was my first FF game and this is my second but the music never ceases to amaze me
Listening to this again 7 months after I played the game. I had time to let it digest and I can reflect on my experience. While listening to this song I almost wanted to cry because I never felt so respected as a fan. They went to hard on the fan service and then went above and beyond our expectations. They deserve all the love and respect for what they created.
This specific remix wasn't in Remake, but the Stamp theme which is remixed is and it came back in such an amazing way. It's one of the jukebox themes from Remake.
Genuinely the last thing I was expecting from this silly dog escort mission was a custom Tekken-esque battle theme. When this comes to PC, top priority needs to be a modded version where this plays in place of the normal battle theme.

Many things have no french translation overall such as signs around the world, this kind of things, but I suppose those textures are the same for any version as many signs have japanese and / or english text. Not complaining though, it's only small details, but I've seen this kind of stuff fully translated in other games before (but they were often important or even necessary to progress, things like signs for directions etc)

I think some tekken composers had a fill on the OST. OST is like 400 tracks long, there's about 20 or more credited composers. They got some of the best in Japan.
This is my first GOTY candidate. FF7 Rebirth just has it all. Great story. Fun min games, just good writing, excellent music, etc. Proud to be a FF fan since 1987!
@@kyero8724 I get that everyone wanted a 1:1 story remake in this style, but goddamn - Both Remake and Rebirth rekindled my love for FF again, after not enjoying a single one since FFX. Plus, it's not like it devalues the original - One, it's still there. You can go back and play it, and experience it again and again. And with the brilliance of modders like Cosmos, Satsuki, and NinoStyle on the PC version, you can experience a visually stunning version of it at that. FF7 at 60FPS with remastered music, FMV's, and brand new - but way more true to the original than Square has ever managed - chibi models, battle models, etc. But it's a fresh new story. Not a "this is how it ACTUALLY went" story, but a story about parallel worlds where things did go differently, while entities fought to keep the status quo. We get a huge overarching narrative that gives us more time with characters we love, and that has new story beats thrown alongside with existing ones to keep you guessing/excited.
I haven’t had this much fun and enjoyment from a video game in a long time, being 20 hrs into this and hearing this track hit hard on a side mission playing with characters that I played as a kid when the OG came out with my older brother, nostalgia overload and expectations BTFO!
It’s pretty clear that the Remake & Rebirth team just really, really, love their cats and dogs. I wouldn’t be surprised if the reasoning for Salmon getting this music was simply just “he deserves it”.

Then this song started and I was pumped lol. Salmon is a good dog and I loved her escort mission. Probably the only one I’ve ever enjoyed in a game. One of my least favorites was escorting Eva in MGS3… she should take some notes from Salmon lol.

I'm not surprised the music in a FF game is fantastic. But Rebirth is crazy. If I remember correctly Square said they created over 400 new tracks (by new I mean not counting orchestrated versions of tracks from the OG game). Anyways can't wait till the soundtrack is officially released. The physical set is like 4 or 5 discs.
