Crying for what? They completely took any emotional weight out of her "death" in this game. Its honestly my only complaint of this game (along with chadley)
I'll admit it's an interesting detail. Although, if you go with the theory-craft that Cloud created an alternate timeline for Aerith to survive in for the time being, she died in the main timeline while surviving in a sort of limbo state.
@@renegade637 I believe Sephiroth let Cloud block the attack. In the first game in their duel at the edge of creation they cross swords and Sephiroth says to him “not yet.” And shoves him off and knocks his sword out of his hands. He was also toying with Cloud the whole duel. The not yet was for the trying to block his death blow on Aerith. So I don’t believe Cloud could block Sephiroth’s attack unless Sephiroth wanted him to. Aerith also sat there and didn’t move during the struggle like she knew and wanted it to happen.

Love these characters so much. They are like family to each other. One of the best JRPG groups ever. They never managed to pull of such an iconic bunch of party members ever again imo (except for FFIX).
7:20 - this is where I completely lost it and couldn't hold back my tears. I had to press pause because I just couldn't fight yet. Well done SquareEnix...
In a way she was. And in a way we as players win here. Why? Because we all KNOW she’s still with us, we all know she’s going to be playable (probably with Zack) in Part 3. Even if she’s gone in one reality, she’s still with US.
Even in thé battle you fight in two reality... Aerith dead first part aerith thème. Aerith alive jenova's theme (look at thé discuss between thé party ) sephiroth vs cloud Zack - outer worlds . Cloud vs bizarro Sephiroth same. Party against bizarro aerith dead. Zack in thé church i dont know. Sephiroth vs cloud and aerith. She is alive from Somewhere and Sephiroth telle her she underestimated her.
Cloud is batshit crazy. I hope she isn’t a silent companion on the next game. I was more disappointed that there was no rocket town or bone village. I knew it when the music went to the centra capital song. No Vincent or cid as a character
@@Inthemembrian i don't think she'll be a companion. she might just be present in the same vein as she was in Advent Children. wouldn't be surprised if she was playable at the end again like Zack was in this one. and who knows, maybe those towns will be in part 3? wasn't bone village up north anyway? and it was smart keeping Vincent and Cid as NPCs, gives us incentive to play the part 3 to finally use them.
That choir did it for me..man i cant believe im alive to witness this moment. I dont care what anyone says about the ending to me it is one of the most beautiful endings i've ever seen in a videogame and its not even the actual ending of this story.. see y'all in 4 years.
It is, enjoy it and enjoy that the og exists and that we get multiple realities at once this time. FF7 is my favourite game of all time and i'm glad the world got reimagined and expanded in remake and rebirth and hopefully i live to play the final part.
This whol scene alone was enough to emotionally criple me for the next year or so. Wonderful composition. They really outdid themselves with this soundtrack.
The entire game goes so damn hard for the music. The choir singing when Cloud is *struggling* not to hurt Aerith was so intense. This game is a masterpiece
I disagree. The most impactful one is from Distant Worlds. That’s just me though. It pauses here and there to cause impact with the brass melodies at the end.
I'm so upset Aerith died- But the game, the characters, and the music treat her with such love and reverence. It makes her death so emotionally impactful. As a die-hard Aerith enjoyer, if she just had to die at least it was like this. Surrounded by people and a world that loved her. Unforgettable.
@@DarkLilty501 Yeah, basically they killed her in the Re-universe... but don't worry, we have a spare Aerith from a parallel timeline who you (somehow) saved. Eveyone's happy... No love for 7:59? That part is what made me emotional, it's so grand and feels like it was played with so much passion. It made that section my favorite part of Aerith's theme forever.
Literally, my reaction to those booms of the drums and cymbals crashing literally sent shivers down my spine and pulled my heartstrings. And the choir coming in after, that’s when I pause the game and started crying. This is coming from a solider.
I was so sad and mad during the first phase. I couldn't even prep my party with buffs like I usually do with every battle. I just went berserk and hit the boss with every hard hitting atb command. I didn't even care that I wasn't playing optimally. I just wanted to attack the boss as much as possible.
7:23 gives me that vibe that the heroes have come to save us, and i almost had tears. The final fantasy franchise always seems to touch my heart ff13, 15, 16, and now 7. I love this franchise!!!
when 5:06 started playing I genuinely could feel myself breaking. Seeing Aerith live in a split-second reality, only to have her die, only to have Sephiroth laugh and flick her blood at us, only to have Cloud silently recite his laments from the og ff7, and then seeing Aerith reach up and tell US that IT'S OKAY??? NO AERITH. IT'S NOT OKAY. WE LOST YOU BEFORE, WE CAN'T LOSE YOU AGAIN also please just reply to this comment i need to come back and listen to this religiously pretty please
i was fucking livid i got even more mad when her theme started playing during jenova lifeclinger i didn't even understand what happened at first, but i was so damn PISSED that sephiroth started laughing and shit
I was already broken at "whatever happens. Don't blame yourself". To me it just felt like she was comforting the players more than Cloud. In that moment the player is pretty much when Aerith was crying as a little kid going "Sorry....I tried.." about her Mom.
Even though he deserves credit for being the original composer of all these thematic ideas and motifs, Uematsu didn't work on the Remake and Rebirth background scores. He just did their vocal themes this time. Someone else would've arranged this track. The full OST isn't out just yet though, so it's uncertain who it is yet (even though Hamauzu and Suzuki are the lead composers, they have a lot of others working on these scores, so we're gonna have to wait till April 10 for the details).
@@Sawngawkuhagree, uematsu created the theme, but the reinterpretation of aeriths theme with sephiroth and jenova mixed in for this scene was nothing Short of incredible.
Uematsu was the original composer but he did not work specifically on Remake or Rebirth but instead wrote the theme songs. Of course, we have to give him all credit, and at the same time, be thankful to the countless individuals who made new renditions of these iconic pieces in full respect to Uematsu's original work. In short, these new compositions are nothing short but breathtaking, like this piece.
@@JackSparrow-ct4mhWhich is why I noted Uematsu still gets credit for the original material, but it is worth noting in response to the original comment that the arranger for this rendition is someone else.
This is the most epic, emotional, angry, loving, heart breaking music I have heard from final fantasy. All of the emotions running wild with it! Magnificent!
I think the memory of me, sitting in front of my monitor and mouthing "not again" over and over will stay with me forever, I really thought it's gonna be different this time but alas.
I’m sure like many others, playing Rebirth was to find out if Aerith was gonna live or die, and when the cutscene of Sephiroth coming down with his sword, I literally screamed at the top of my lungs like I was on a roller coaster. When it looked like Cloud saved Aerith by hitting Sephiroth’s sword away, I screamed a “Fuck yeah!!”. But once the blood appeared on the ground, I knew something wasn’t right. The slow motion kicked in with Aerith’s dying body falling forward with Cloud’s reaction of shock and horror. And then, those first notes of Aerith’s theme kicked in, I knew we had been tricked. We have been fooled. It was 1997 again. We then hear Sephiroth laughing at not only Cloud but also us, the gamers. Tears suddenly started flowing from my eyes into my face uncontrollably. 4 years since Remake. 27 years since OG. Countless hours playing Rebirth for this very moment and I felt everything I’ve done was gone to waste in a matter of seconds. And when I finished the game after trying again and again dying fighting Sephiroth, I cried when the credits rolled on screen with “No Promises to Keep” playing in the background. It was finally over. 70+ hours of gameplay. Me playing the game like a crazy maniac these last two weeks including staying up late and playing all day during the weekends. I will always remember Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. I will always remember those 7 seconds.
I'll always remember when they botched this ending by using a fake out like a bunch of trolls and ruined one of the most important video game moments with multiverse bullshit. They made me hate a game that was 100 hours of greatness with 2 hours of dumpster fire garbage, that retroactively made me hate this Remake and this entire endeavor. There was no plan, no real point to Zack's storyline other than cheap fanservice that confused the hell out of old fans and confused new fans even more. I was dead inside by the time the credits rolled. I waited 4 years for THIS??? I don't even fucking care what happens next. I really don't. Fuck this ending and fuck you.
@@rabidrobbie honestly for me i feel like that any feeling i could have had was taken away from me from spoilers which apparently were my fault for seeing since i went on youtube before beating the game/did not erase my internet history.
10000% They should have released it alongside the game's release. But at least it will come out in April. Xenoblade 2 and 3's OSTs were released over a year later.
Aerith’s fate, seems like a double edged sword, for the new fan who has no idea what’s coming it may sound like Aerith is about to do something godly, the way the choir slowly sings her theme, but to long time fans it’s haunting! It’s perfectly emotional
8:35 was the moment for my tears to begin flooding. I had to pause the game because I was crying too much during this battle. That's how you know it's a powerful score, well done once again to Nobuo Uemastu 😪
Seeing where we left at in terms of cloud's state of mind in at the ending of rebirth, i can't help but thinking that we'll be reliving a more complete version or Aerith's fate all over again in the lifestream.
Man, for a bit of context, I am a composer and long-time instrumentalist, so I analyse the structure and arrangement of songs from video game composers all week. I have, never in my life, heard something so gorgeous as the OST of FFVII: Rebirth. Literally, this is next level. The best OST I have ever heard and it is not even close.
For me the real recreation of Aerith's death was in the church when she gave Cloud the white materia. When she walked off into the sleeping forest I actually screamed and begged her not to go (my poor friends ears haha) but the moment the choir sings her theme I lost it again. This game is truly special ❤
When she walks away into the sleeping forest and Cloud says, "Come back!" but it's not a command. He is begging, and he sounds like a small child being left behind, it is crushing.
I agree with you on the church sceneT^T. It really got me so hard when Aerith pushed Cloud. And yes, SE is so terribe for making Cloud crawl in the Sleeping Forest to be able to get to Aerith.
The church scene messed me up bad because to me it just felt like she was trying to comfort veteran players that were so ready to try and save her. Just that crushing feeling while being comforted. At that moment. A lot of us just reverted to us in our childhood when we first lost her.
This sequence, and the music as Vincent is explaining how we found the Forgotten Capital as it had been lost to time “until today” are my favorite musical sections in the entire game. So well done.
People may say aeriths death was ruined, and to some extent I actually agree in the sense of recreating those same feelings, but I firmly believe they did so to set up something much more gut wrenching for the third game. I believe when the lifestream moment happens then, when Tifa helps cloud find himself, theyre also going to show this moment in full with aeriths death and her being put in the water, and cloud coming to terms with her death This has been hinted at in interviews too with the creators talking about how they don’t believe the big moment in FF7 is aeriths death but the lifestream moment. You may ask “why not just do it 1:1” and in many ways I can see why that could be preferable, but you have to realise that it would not feel the same as you felt back when you played the original FF7, there’s no way to fully recreate that. I also firmly believe her death was a product of its time, and new fans really wouldn’t be phased much by it. Aeriths death was huge not because a main character died in a rpg, but because it was one of the first to do so in the manner that it did in its FIRST DISC. Plus most people who have been gaming know about her death from the original
I agree with your point, I think it doesnt help either that the part of the narrative rebirth focuses on is definitely the weakest in terms of major events and plot development - so the ending was also the part people were looking forward to from a 'finally, we get to see Cloud develop and show real, raw emotion etc', which is essentially the plot of the original. most of rebirth is going from place to place and doing other characters arcs and goofing around. They almost definitely are cooking for the next game, but it is a bit whack to move what little character devlopment rebirth had to part 3. I think the ending should have been able to stand on its own without relying on part 3 to pick up everything and answer all the questions from both part 1 and 2. it wasnt awful, even if im not a fan of the timeline stuff im still happy if it comes around in the end. it's just hella ballsy to move that huge reaction to the next game 4 years away - so i guess we'll just have to wait and see
@@RetroGhoulHQI can definitely see where you’re coming from, it is extremely ballsy from square especially for what is essentially their biggest IP. They put themselves in a position where rebirths ending kind of has to rely on part 3 sticking the landing or else all of the stuff they changed was for nought. The fact that they’re also listening to fan reception and that their vision isn’t exactly set in stone (in the sense that some things can change due to fan reception) doesn’t help things in that regard Despite this though I personally loved what they were going for, it’s daring but very bold and has be excited and also anxious for the third game.
I'm not sure what the relevancy is in bringing up that most people know her death in the original. What does that have to do with Cloud coming to terms with it in the lifestream sequence? She still dies, those same people would still know that she does. You had me agreeing until you said that.
You might be right. I didn’t think of it that way. The producers may have been trying to get us to see it from Cloud’s distorted perspective. Seeing what Jenova and Sephiroth want him to see. Although it could also be Aerith saying: “focus on yourself,”- get better. The reality hitting him when Tifa finally snaps him out of it. Maybe that’s where the connection with AC comes in- he had significant guilt in AC. He was still struggling with Aerith’s death and knowing it wasn’t his fault.
7:20 i remember this moment in the original game. As soon as the music hit i was transported back to 1997 fighting that boss as a kid. Shed a few tears for sure.
this is the best music in the game, the music and the event that happened, it wanted to convey the sadness and anger into that fight, the same feeling the characters in the game would have had during that fight
Except Sephiroth left saying he underestimated her and plus Nomura is involved and if my years as a KH fan have taught me anything. No one can predict what that man plans with his stories. The safest bet is the theory that Aerith is experiencing Schrodinger's Cat syndrome
"if only I'd never known all the burdens I was born to bear" Just really thinking about her knowing all this time, briefly truly hoping desperately to change her fate when Sephiroth changed the end of Remake, but ultimately accepting there's nothing she could do and, like a lot of creative souls, pouring that frustration and hurt into a song she sings in front of her friends without them even having a clue she's singing about her own death and carrying it all all alone for so long.. 💔
Aerith has to be the most loved character of all time, so many people mourning her death across the world… there’s just something about her purity, her innocence, she is what every human being should be. Now let me go cry… 😢😢😢
probably my fav character from the beginning until the end of rebirth and the remake I never removed her from my party the problem is idk who is going to be my cleanser and healer in part 3 I usually give her my best materias and I cried a lot of times hearing the classic main theme of ff7 and this theme and the mt corel one
I love Aerith's theme! It's the prettiest theme in the whole entire Final Fantasy VII games. It hit me really hard in Final Fantasy VII Remake and most of all in Rebirth too!💔😢
I am not really an emotional person but this scene or just the music only… moves you. I’m so psyched to see what’s next in store for the following part
Still cant listen to this without crying wow This music is like speaking facts of sorrow and desperation over anger. Guess that why Cloud is the only one whp doesnt get his limit in the first part of the battle
My absolute favorite song in years. Totally pumped with emotion and the certain instruments give hints to whats going on. (Clouds perception is warped by denial in a world of his own making)
I played the OG for the first time after remake was announced, and her death almost brought me to tears even though I knew it was coming. But when Aerith’s theme started playing during the Jenova fight I couldn’t hold the tears, I was just swinging carelessly in sheer rage at the creature with no regard to my health bar Well done, Square
I played first game as a kid and this new Aerith scene really got me… It is just not my childhood memories and the beautiful music, but the wait for the remake, the hope of having the opportunity of playing something more than just the original story. I just feel grateful because there was a lot of people who passed away in pandemic and they could not get to this part. I think they did an amazing job with this remake, at least it seems made with love and respect. Thank you Square Enix for doing an effort to make this happen
Fighting Jenova Lifeclinger was so fucking hard to do when I was crying and crying, I swear Rebirth had me in tears of joy, full of laughter with moments and tons of tears of sadness. This game is a masterpiece ✨ They fooled me so much gave me that slice of hope that we could save Aerith. Then to snatch it away in the most mind blowing moment. I lost it. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is hands down my game of 2024.
@@garyconstanza3120 it's not faithful but how square wanted to show it back in 1997 but of course didn't have the power to. I'm pretty sure all the multiverse stuff in this scene actually is just clouds mind messing with him too
They really nailed it with the OST. I still get that feeling of stress in my chest listening to this that I did in game. Slowly approaching Aerith at the altar with knots in my stomach, not wanting to keep going. The feeling of dread as she looked up and the black feather fell in front of her face and just pleading with Cloud to save her. My hands were at my temples with the shock and tension as he met Sephiroth's blade with his own and the rest...well, that was just an emotional roller coaster I couldn't get off of lol. Sounds so dramatic but I just love Aerith so much. 'Till the day that we meet again
The ending is fricken brilliant I love seeing everyone complain and cry about it. It’s gonna all pay off in part 3 and it’s gonna hit even more than the og. I feel like the church scene where they say goodbye to each other is sadder than her death in general I’m excited to see how it all comes together.
The whole sequence when Cloud starts getting close to the altar until start of Jenova fight is peak gaming moment for me. Probably nothing will ever come close to this in terms of excitement and curiosity of what will happen next, tension, atmosphere, awe and dread. Perfectly executed in terms of visuals, music, direction, art on display.. Every time choir starts when Cloud gets close to altar i get chills.
Man, what an emotional roller coaster. You've got the billion time ghosts swarming around Aerith, her not dying but then also actually dying somehow, fighting interdimensional super Sephiroth in space with alternate universe Zack, it's all such a masterpiece. The developers were geniuses to add time ghosts and multiverses to this iconic scene, it improves it so much! I hope in part 3 we finally get to pilot a Cloud shaped Gundam and throw Sephiroth into the Sun, and hear Cloud scream "How's that for a Supernova?!"
How does a game that is not only a remake, but also the second part of a trilogy, a cursed position for storytelling, somehow approach greatness on an "of all time" scale? This is how. I really wonder how this all feels for people who weren't able to play the original on PS1.

Not even going to lie. I’ve never fought a boss before while crying and at the same time having the amount of rage I had while fighting it. Square did it magnificently they actually got the players to feel the rage the characters were probably feeling.
The fact that they kept how Aerith's theme played during the Jenova fight was just perfection. I know that many purists are unhappy with these games but honestly the amount of stuff they added/improved/kept compared to the stuff that they removed is so much more than enough. Case in point: this song
I beaten the game a few months ago and still recalled how upset I was when aerith died. I cried a lot at chapter 14…and when aerith’s theme started playing as you begin the jenova lifeclinger fight, I paused the game and sobbed again. That was actually the first time aerith’s theme impacted me. It really goes to show how incredible this game is.
It's interesting seeing how some people felt this moment was an emotional shotgun to the heart and then others saying it was completely weightless. I myself was somewhere in the middle and it's because of this. The sadness and heartbreak in the original was losing a character who was just wonderful and full of love and life. The sadness and heartbreak in the remake series is just wanting to do something, ANYTHING to save and help her, and even then it seems like she rejects that, insisting she does things the way she intends them to go. She's asking everyone to have faith in her, but rejecting anyone helping her... which is all the more crushing after seeing the moment of younger her begging people to help her mom, only to be ignored.
Her flashback was the sadest part of the whole game for me, while her death was kinda ruined by SE dragging it out, and teasing/bluffing. I did enjoy her dream with Cloud tho. A moment in the lifestream, while she just wants to live life and experience everything she knows she won't get to.
That trumpet was some of the most gorgeous and emotional music I’ve ever heard. It’s hard to play with that level of emotion and musicality, yet it was NAILED.
Man… that trumpet soloist nailed the absolute FUCK out of the emotion called for in that part. Nothing like advanced tears because a trumpet was so beautiful.
Don't worry peeps--Aerith's alive, and no, not an alternate reality version either. There's no way they went through the trouble of animating that beautiful sequence of Cloud swinging the sword and deadlocking Sephiroth's stab for 7 seconds, finally fending it off... only for it to all be moot. Cloud DID save Aerith... BUT the Whispers intervened, copy pasting over reality--because Aerith's death is such a necessary plot point in the OG. If she never dies, she wouldn't be able to enter the Lifestream, and rally it to provide Holy with the support it needs to fend off Meteor at the end. All that goes to say--the Whispers copied her OG death, and pasted over reality. The only way to save Aerith was to do the impossible... and now, the impossible has happened. She's alive, but also not alive... She's Schroedinger's cat.

Love these characters so much. They are like family to each other. One of the best JRPG groups ever. They never managed to pull of such an iconic bunch of party members ever again imo (except for FFIX).

After 20 something years still can’t save her😢😢😢
@@ScarletStrainits just so beautiful.
This game had the FUCKING NERVE, THE GALL, THE AUDACITY to have you think there was a chance to save Aeirth.
She is saved all imma say Is watch for the white light
Same here
Likewise on me
The entire game goes so damn hard for the music. The choir singing when Cloud is *struggling* not to hurt Aerith was so intense.
This game is a masterpiece
Rebirth is a masterpiece 100%
Every rendition of Aerith’s theme hits, and this one hits the hardest. Square Enix never misses with their music, it’s built different… 😭😭
See her alive in another world with Zack in the last game
100% aerith will always be my favorite character and her Dead still hurt after so many years 😭😭
@@DarkLilty501 Yeah, basically they killed her in the Re-universe... but don't worry, we have a spare Aerith from a parallel timeline who you (somehow) saved.
Eveyone's happy... They managed to delight the people who asked us to save Aerith for 27 years, but also they didn't undo one of the biggest moments in video game history, because that would be so stupid.
Well, played Square Enix.

No love for 7:59? That part is what made me emotional, it's so grand and feels like it was played with so much passion. It made that section my favorite part of Aerith's theme forever.
It’s literally so beautiful.
For me it’s the best single section of music in the game, absolutely floors me every time
Agreed. This game really had me thinking we really had a shot at saving her this time. Such a beautiful game
Literally, my reaction to those booms of the drums and cymbals crashing literally sent shivers down my spine and pulled my heartstrings. And the choir coming in after, that’s when I pause the game and started crying. This is coming from a solider.
That’s my FAVORITE part
27 years and..."Everything is going to be okay."
This game should absolutely sweep all awards for 2024 best soundtrack. Absolutely flawless.
when 5:06 started playing I genuinely could feel myself breaking. WE LOST YOU BEFORE, WE CAN'T LOSE YOU AGAIN
also please just reply to this comment i need to come back and listen to this religiously pretty please
there you go, mate!
i was fucking livid
i got even more mad when her theme started playing during jenova lifeclinger
i didn't even understand what happened at first, but i was so damn PISSED that sephiroth started laughing and shit
Yea those piano notes really hit deep😢
Hi, bud.
I was already broken at "whatever happens. Don't blame yourself". To me it just felt like she was comforting the players more than Cloud. In that moment the player is pretty much when Aerith was crying as a little kid going "Sorry....I tried.." about her Mom.
This has to be one of the most beautiful, IF NOT the most beautiful theme in the whole soundtrack.
Uematsu really poured all his love into this track.
@@Sawngawkuh lets be honest tho, its the original melody that holds the emotional value, however it is arranged it always hits the same.
@@JackSparrow-ct4mhWhich is why I noted Uematsu still gets credit for the original material, but it is worth noting in response to the original comment that the arranger for this rendition is someone else.
6:23 is when my tears start streaming and suppressed rage since childhood of losing aerith bubbles up from my heart
Same here 😭😭
6:35 and then the epic part 😱😭😭
3:18 how to go from extreme happiness to extreme sadness, in under 30 seconds
I was like “no, no, no that theme 😭”
This is the most epic, emotional, angry, loving, heart breaking music I have heard from final fantasy. All of the emotions running wild with it! Magnificent!
I think the memory of me, sitting in front of my monitor and mouthing "not again" over and over will stay with me forever, I really thought it's gonna be different this time but alas.
Zack SAVES Aerith from the downed helicopter, only to find her unconscious and barely CLINGING TO LIFE.
J-E-N-O-V-A Lifeclinger
This is the best arrangement of Aerith’s theme. Wow! SO many emotions during listening to this.

Yep. I guarantee we get the full dialogue cloud says in the original that was glitched out when he was holding her and her funeral in the water

Truly a work of art you don’t see this kind of effort for music in movies or games nowadays. Really beautiful soundtrack ❤❤
I believe when the lifestream moment happens then, when Tifa helps cloud find himself, theyre also going to show this moment in full with aeriths death and her being put in the water, and cloud coming to terms with her death
This has been hinted at in interviews too with the creators talking about how they don’t believe the big moment in FF7 is aeriths death but the lifestream moment.
The fact that they’re also listening to fan reception and that their vision isn’t exactly set in stone (in the sense that some things can change due to fan reception) doesn’t help things in that regard
Despite this though I personally loved what they were going for, it’s daring but very bold and has be excited and also anxious for the third game.
I agree with you. It's different, but it is still impactful.

This theme is beautiful
it's sad, everyone gets to choose their fate, Aerith has to accept what comes to her.
She deserved more.
Except Sephiroth left saying he underestimated her and plus Nomura is involved and if my years as a KH fan have taught me anything. No one can predict what that man plans with his stories. The safest bet is the theory that Aerith is experiencing Schrodinger's Cat syndrome
"if only I'd never known all the burdens I was born to bear"
Just really thinking about her knowing all this time, briefly truly hoping desperately to change her fate when Sephiroth changed the end of Remake, but ultimately accepting there's nothing she could do and, like a lot of creative souls, pouring that frustration and hurt into a song she sings in front of her friends without them even having a clue she's singing about her own death and carrying it all all alone for so long.. 💔
Aerith has to be the most loved character of all time, so many people mourning her death across the world… there’s just something about her purity, her innocence, she is what every human being should be. Now let me go cry… 😢😢😢

The whole sequence when Cloud starts getting close to the altar until start of Jenova fight is peak gaming moment for me.

She's asking everyone to have faith in her, but rejecting anyone helping her... which is all the more crushing after seeing the moment of younger her begging people to help her mom, only to be ignored.
her flashback made me cry
Her flashback was the sadest part of the whole game for me, while her death was kinda ruined by SE dragging it out, and teasing/bluffing.
I did enjoy her dream with Cloud tho. A moment in the lifestream, while she just wants to live life and experience everything she knows she won't get to.

This game is hell of a lot different between veterans from the original and new players
