This will likely be a hit for Nissan, especially because it doesn't have a CVT anymore.
Electric vehicles, and cvt transmissions should be banned
@tableguy3819 small range … evs need minimum 300 miles range with ac and music cranked up
CVTs virtually killed Nissan. Glad they have woken up
Now improve the electric systems.
That's simply not true.
I got platinum trim 2 days ago. Amazing car. I had my eyes on Sorento and Telluride and even put down deposit on with KIA, but the Telluride looks better in video than in person. The top skinny bottom fat design of telluride is a bit off putting.
53.1 Decibels is so far the quietest vehicle in the segment.
@@Rungr in the mainstream SUV.
We have to admire these guys! The younger brother, Mason? Is like 18! And these guys are up against reviewers that are decades older and more seasoned! And these guys are hanging with them and growing. It’s fun to watch! Car Confections quickly made it into my top 5 channels and replaced others. I’d say you guys are in my top 3 go-to channels easily now. Ya’ll are great! ~Kody
😁 that's very nice of you to say! Thanks!
I’ve been waiting for this review. We have an ‘08 Pathfinder and so glad the more aggressive styling is back and no CVT! A lot of improvements but what I really wish is that they would bring back the Xterra! Our ‘01 4x4 Xterra has been my favorite car that I’ve ever owned.
Omg I own an Xterra and it’s still going strong! I love it
The old xterra was SOLID
I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra S with over 224,000 miles on it. Never had an issue with the original CVT. I changed the fluid every 60,000 miles as required in the owner’s manual. Nissan is capable to be reliable as Toyota and Honda. You haters should learn how to read a manual and drive a car properly and you won’t have any problems long term.
There’s a reasons Nissan ditched the cvt…you’ve just been lucky.
@@paintup46 well they still use the cvt in their sedans anyways. Cvts in suv means trouble especially for towing or going up higher elevations
@@paintup46 It ain’t about being lucky. It’s about treating and maintaining your vehicle in which most people failed to do.
@@chrisgraydon You’d be right in most cases.
I'm been at Nissan for over 11 years and excellent point @chrisgraydon he is absolutely correct when stating that the CVT fluid should be changed regularly. Sadly, many Nissan owners with the CVT wait until it's too late to change the fluid. If you do this (much as you did have to do a tranny flush on the non-cvt models) you will definitely get more than average transmission life out of the CVT......
I absolutely love the new rugged design.
I love the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder, it’s really nice, I love the 9 speed Automatic transmission, it’s great it has no CVT! I love the bloopers, so funny
These guys are great aren’t they, Turnstall ?
How quickly does it respond to paddle shifts?
This car looks like a Range Rover, and that’s a compliment…
I really enjoy your guys reviews. Even when I’m not interested in the car. I find your explanations very entertaining and i appreciate your guys attention to detail. Keep up the hard work. 👊🏽
Thank you, friend! 😁
The green over chestnut on this vehicle is the one for me.
Yea, that color combo is pretty amazing!
It’s nice! Did you place an order or you buying it this week?
Great Review. This redesign will bring sales back much stronger.
Awesome review ever guys, this 22 pathfinder is an awesome luxury SUV, with new styling and inprovement. 😁😁❤👍💯
Nissan finally made something attractive! On a sidenote, I see that Nissan finally made fixed their rev counter with evenly spaced numbers beginning with one. Previous ones just started at two for whatever reason.
Great review as usual guys. I purchased my Platinum 4WD, early this month. LOVE it. So smooth. Plenty of power for this size. Excellent turn radius. Really has everything I needed.
Thanks and big congrats on your new Pathfinder!
Hi! I'm looking for a platinum at the moment as well, can you update us on the actual mpg you're getting?
@@mooz8026 Hi Simon. If you're looking for high mileage out of a 3.5 ltr 6 cylinder, you might not be 100% pleased. The VW Atlas may be the worst on fuel economy, while the Pathfinder is probably more in line with a Telluride.
I came from having 2 Audi Q5's over the past eight years. Amazing 4 cylinder turbo's. Big difference from what I now have. It's all about perspective.
But, if you get the SL Premium and not the Platinum, I've read their is a savings on MPG's, maybe 1-2 miles extra. I wanted the ventilated seats plus a few other niceties that didn't come in the SL Premium.
I do hope this helps and I highly recommend a robust highway test drive. Good Shopping to you!
@@edraldi Thanks Edward. I'm definitely not looking for a high mpg, otherwise I'd be shopping for a Hybrid Highlander! I own a Ford Explorer at the moment with the 2.3L EcoBoost, just wondering how they compare in real life vs advertised :-) I cannot get the color I want yet (the 2 tones model are rare...), so have to be patient to buy my platinum!
@@mooz8026 I saw a review of that Hybrid Highlander. Never really loved Toyota design, outside of the 4 Runner. The HP and Torque on the Highlander were just too low.
I like the latest Ford Explorer. 2.3 Liter is always going to beat a 3.5 in fuel economy. You maybe get 21mpg in the city? I might get 20mpg in the city with the new Pathfinder. Luckily, it also has eco mode.
Let me do a quick test today and I'll get back to you.
On color choice, I was willing to go anywhere on the East Coast and that's what I did and how I ended up in Chicago. I say you do the same. Set up a deal, put down a $100-$1000 hold and get the car you want. Slimmer pickings due to chip shortage that's not expected to sadly, get better until this time next year.
Looks better than the highlander and pilot . But Honda pilot is going to reveal the new pilot next month
New Pilot must be a 2023...Honda already has the 2022 on their website and it is unchanged.
Great video. Love your unassuming take on car reviews. Very detailed, very user focused. Great job. Subbed
Thanks so much! Welcome to the family! 😁
Fabulous All-New 2022 Nissan Pathfinder Review!!! I absolutely love watchin' your videos all the time!!!
Nice, but Would love to have the tablet built into the dashboard though
Great review! Love how you cover all the details, big and small. This Pathfinder is definitely a step in the right direction for Nissan.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the review!
Damn this is nice but I noticed incandescent interior lighting which is a little silly. I’d be changing those lights out right away. Good job guys! I wanted to see those door pockets tho when you mentioned all the storage. That’s okay tho. Thank you for all of your hard work! It’s very much appreciated! I know it’s hard to cover everything in the time allotted. You guys have been bringing us the good cars in high volume lately! Kudos! ~Kody
As well as directional lights
Just bought one yesterday, amazing car! Highly recommended 👍🔥💯

This will be my dream SUV! Great job bro.
I’m in the market for a mid size SUV and this is just what I need. I need the car to have just enough towing capacity and off road performance since I live in a desert area. I’m thrilled to know that the CVT is gone. I was actually thinking of getting the new Frontier, but this Pathfinder has more practicality
It’s a wonderful offering
its not a toyota tho
@@tobu5398 Who cares? Don’t be stupid.
@@tobu5398 You say that like it’s supposed to mean something
@@tobu5398 Toyota/Lexus are the only cars that hold their value like they do. But not everyone considers that, and not every Toyota is very likeable. I see my Toyota as a workhorse, drives all day everyday for the last five years, but many other cars are more comfortable, better looking. If you want practical, reliable, keep for many years as only car, get a Toyota.other cars may be as reliable but chances are not as good, to each their own.
I'm loving this new Pathfinder. I want one exactly like this one, same color, same trim, but I'll likely wait until either the end of this year or Memorial Day sales of next year to see if they offer any good manufacturer and dealer discounts.

Nissan is really trying here! They didn’t phone it in! They will earn my money in the future if they make reliable vehicles that last.
This makes me excited for the 2022 Infiniti QX60!
I am getting this to replace 2012 Murano
That X60 is gorgeous. You can see the sharing of the architecture on the two vehicles. Also funny how the ladder-up or trickle-down in technology is applied between the two brands.
nissan has come a long way. new manager at my job keeps saying you wouldnt ever see him in a rogue but the new rogue is sexy af and super nice
I almost bought a rogue in May- it’s really nice. I ended up going with my 4th Mazda. Rogue has more comfortable seats.
@@2004cyrus yes agreed, im quite shocked how comfortable the seats are
New Rogue looks fantastic -- I wish they had an engine option with more oomph, though!

I’ll take a pathfinder platinum with the SL Rims
My car is: 2015 Versa Note SV, 90K Miles, I paid $4,200 for a new CVT last month.
I’ve been waiting for this! Also can u put up a poll on which car to do a comparison and then which Ever wins you compare those

Love the new Pathfinder
Wow great review on the pathfinder.
Excellent Video! I wish you can do a road test comparison between this Pathfinder and Telluride
No CTV? Now we’re talking!! Good job Nissan
Out of this Nissan and Grand Cherokee L and the Telluride, which do you feel has better acceleration? Faster? Thx
I know this isn't helpful but they all feel just about the same. I doubt there is even a second difference between all three
Pathfinder is faster.
@@trent7080 and cheaper
@@jimmyr1683 And the Pathfinder has aluminum suspension components where KIA and Hyundai use stamped steel.
Bought a SL premium last week. Great SUV! Great review guy, keep up the great work
Thanks! And congrats on your new Pathfinder!
Love it. Might be my next ride..... will have to take it for a test drive.
Out of all the automatic transmissions Nissan could gave used, they chosed the ZF 9 speed automatic.
Well I mean Aisin is 8-speed
ZF9 only replaced the CVT because it has the same mission as a Xtronic CVT, low end performance and high end efficiency, but it does it better.
I love it that car because it look like Nissan rogues 2022 so beautifully car ever it so nice and fancy stuff in there and stunning seat ever very pretty color ever
Would you still pick 2022 Nissan Pathfinder SL over the 2022 Jeep Cherokee Laredo? Because Jeep Cherokee the hood stays up automatically, digital speedometer and digital rearview mirror? If it is Nissan Pathfinder which trim level is the best besides the Platinum trim?
Shouldve mentioned that you can recline the 3rd row seat so it feels better 2 give it a better angle if needed
Good review & great Pathfinder.
Maybe I missed it but where or how does this match up against the KIA Telluride??? Thanks!!!
Yea it matches up well except in safety systems in lower trims and the warranty as you know is not near as long as the Koreans. It exceeds the Koreans in seating measurements. And this transmission is ZF 9-speed and Kia builds the tranny in house.
@@2004cyrus ALL Nissans come standard with blindspot, rear cross traffic alert, FCW, and automatic braking, etc. Please quit spreading false information.
With no CVT, does this means the transmission fluid will not leak in radiator like past models. Thats how I lost my pathfinder. It was high mileage so Nissan refused to pay for a new engine.
Great review.
Thanks! 😁
It would have been nice to see all the rear seats folded flat and also an off-road analysis.
FYI:
I test drove a 2022 Pathfinder SL 4WD here in Central Texas where it was 100 degrees today on 7.29.21.. the reason I wanted to test drive one was to see how the AC worked because I saw a few reviews that said the AC didn't get cold enough...and they were RIGHT...The AC did NOT get cold enough IN THE 100 degree weather today..
I had the AC set to recycle the air from the inside air with AC button pressed and had it set to the lowest setting which was 60 degrees and the air did not feel crisp enough and would get warmer when u slowed down ,I also un pressed the AC button and that did not help..I own a 2015 Pathfinder SV and the air gets colder in it when I have it set to 70 degrees with the air being recycle from the inside air and the AC button is not pressed..Needless to say I was disappointed..matter of fact we help my mother in law buy a Nissan 2021 Kick last week and the AC gets colder then the New 2022 Pathfinder..Nissan please fix...Here in Texas if the AC isn't cold enough then nothing else matters with all the other new features...I definitely recommend testing one out on a HOT day before buying one..
Same here in Phoenix. AC has to be really strong like yesterday when it was 115
Not so insult your intelligence, but did you ensure you had the rear controls for the HVAC on high fan and lowest temp also? The rear seat vents on the roof should also be open and I'm not quite sure why it wouldn't get as cold as you like. I'm up in Ontario (at a Nissan dealership) and we've had a few really toasty days lately (not quite 100F but close) and our test driver kept the vehicle pretty cold.....
One of my issues is people are getting priced out of buying good vehicles anymore many people average make 35 to 40 k a year and these vehicles are just starting at these prices, very sad.
Never thought there would be a day would want a Pathfinder now I do. Glad the CVT has been ditched with a 9 speed automatic, new styling so much better looking nice interior with more features. I love the boxy look better than crossover/ wagon of previous generation. I'd get the Platinum with Chestnut interior either Super black or Deep ocean blue pearl. Nissan really hit this new baby out of park this the perfect family car though still bachelor haul some buddies stopping somewhere like Sonic get some drinks or take joyride stopping at bar or head to game.
Oh no! 2022 is going to a difficult year to make a choice. 2010 Camaro just isn’t good for a small family - looking into Kia Telluride, Kia Sorento, and now the Nissan Pathfinder xD
Pretty incredible whole new design and the same old key FOB. Such a Nissan thing to do.
One of the best looking ones for sure.
Looks pretty floaty in the driving portion of the review. Great review as always.
Thanks!
It seems like, NO CVT! Is the headline of most of the pathfinder vids.
We had been a nissan family cycling through three of them for the last 12 years. But Kia and Hyundai set the bar so high in 2020 with the Telluride and Palisade. Maybe Nissan should of added some more features throughout the trims. Vent and heated seats should be on the SL?(the one below platnium) as well.
Agreed
Hyundai and KIA give you those features, but notice not many color options and they use cheaper stamped steel suspension components while Nissan uses aluminum.
What’s the crash safety rating ?
love the new look
now CVT free ..... if it was only rear wheel drive based go after the 4runner a true off roader low range off roader , Nissan did a nice job on this anything is better than the CVT $ 45000 ill pass
Which do you think is better? Pathfinder or Cherokee L?
Not sure... That might make for a good upcoming comparison 🤔
First year for this transmission?
Thanks guys great video
What is bizarre is that when you go onto the Nissan USA website to build/price this SUV, the color combination shown in this video Boulder Grey/Super Black exterior and grey interior, its not available. I am emailing Nissan USA to try and understand why. Does anyone have any idea why?
Nissan could have easily put in led lights turn signals and interior lights. It's not that more expensive
Yea both of my lights are blown out in my 2016 altima in the rear but the front has led lights and they still work along with my led headlights which never blew out even thought I have 363k miles on the car. My 2014 altima needed a headlight replacement In the 100k range that weren't led lights.
@@occckid123 have to keep the aftermarket companies in business
@@jimmyr1683 yea because they probably have ties with them. Makes nonsense why they aren't doing more led light treatment!!!
@@occckid123 but led turn signals only look good if they're red.
That Nissan 😍
i wish the captain chair is an option and or bench seat is option on the higher trim. but it looks handsome over all
If you had to compare it to the Toyota Highlander, what would be the pros and cons of the Pathfinder?
would have bought this if Telluride didn't exist.
GOOD REVIEW & GREAT CAR.
Thanks! 😁
Wow, NO CVT, It's about time they wake up to there senses as the rest should too.
How is Nissan's reliability now? my Altima fell apart at 80,000 miles.
My 2015 Altima has almost 200,000 miles and no problems. I drove my 2006 Sentra for almost 11 years with no mechanical problems; it ended up being totaled in a car accident. So, for the past 16 years, Nissan has been very reliable for me.
Hello gentlemen Drew and Mason. Good review and test drive video for this 2022 Nissan Pathfinder. Nissan definitely made improvements for both the outside and inside with this new generation Pathfinder. A big leap over the outgoing generation Pathfinder. The outgoing generation as you said had that jelly bean appearance. Also, it had that minivan in disguise look which in fact turn away some to a lot of buyers. Other SUVs to note with the unfortunate minivan in disguise appearance would be the Honda Pilot, Lincoln Aviator and outgoing generation cousin the Infiniti QX60. That's good the pesky CVT transmission got kicked to the curb. A lot of folks are very happy for that. With this new 2022 Nissan Pathfinder it's more stylish and has a boulder rugged stance. More features for the interior which is nice. Off roading capabilities will not be an issue this time. It's more than ready to tackle some off roading courses. This new generation will do well in overall sales. I just wished the key fob had a new design though. Current one has been here for too long. That would've been the icing on the cake/cherry on top if a new one was made. Good vehicle all around.
OBTW, nice addition of the bloopers.
Thanks for tuning in! 😁
@@CarConfections You're welcome.
the interior is so ugh!! i love it im still waiting for someone to honk or lock this car:(

Please tell me it has a spare tire.
Nissan is finally getting better in the design department with all their products, just need to get rid of the CVT transmission.
this was number 1 on my list until i found out interior lights are still yellow! no led! a 45k car with no led interior lighting.
Definitely a good point. Shopping around, $60 to get all the new LED bulbs for the car. I'll pay, for four years of whiter light.
First year model though. Always bugs to work out. For $46,000 (Platinum), think I’d go with the third year of the Telluride.
Strong competition to the likes of the LC Prado Pajero sport and Ford Endeavor
With a new redesign, this car would have been better with more power. A single turbo at least. An 8 cylinder perhaps as an option.
Looks great, but that atmos V6 is a carry over from previous gen and its getting dated, therefore its not as fuel efficient as the competitors.
This looks good but this should spell some trouble for the new 2022 Infiniti QX60. The similarity between the two is probably a little too close.
They’re similar in shape but the Infiniti is clearly an Infiniti and the QX60 interior is a clear step up in luxury from the Pathfinder.
People keep saying this when they don’t look alike. I’m honestly trying to determine if the roofline of the QX60 slopes more in the rear, but it could be an illusion of the wrap around glass. And the interior of the QX60 is definitely a pretty nice step up from the Pathy’s already nice interior. Compared to the old gen interiors that were almost identical. I think people see the fact that they both have a black bar connecting the taillights and run with they look the same. Really the similarities end there looks wise.
The QX60 & Pathfinder have never been a direct sistership. The previous QX60/JX35 & Pathfinder only shared a platform, the AWD systems and CVTs were different. The QX60/JX35 was really a larger Murano.
@@trent7080 They were actually very closely related. Most of the interiors were identical except for the dashboard. The Murano is on the same platform as the Pathfinder and QX60, but it’s in a complete different size category. And besides tuning, there is no difference between the Pathfinder and QX60s drivetrain. They’re essentially the same vehicles with different styling.
@@bigd7386 Yeah they're all on the Nissan D platform, but you're wrong the Pathfinder had a chain driven CVT while the QX60/JX35 used the one from the Murano (hence why the Pathfinder was SAE J2807 to tow 6k lbs after 2016). The Pathfinder was able to lock the center coupling and send more power to the rear; you could also lock it into FWD to save fuel, the QX60/JX35 used the same system found in the Murano and Altima.
