    We had almost exact same thing happened to us with the first flight Mini 2 long time ago. We thought we lost it but we happened drive pass the same place a few hours later and we saw it!
    Use the map if you happened lost the sight. If you have to update home point be really careful and choose a open and safe field.

      Hahaha drones are scary haha
      Thank you! we felt pretty lucky!
      Yeah it was a terrible spot to take off from. Smart drones though. Was pretty good that it didn't explode into a car or truck haha

    Hey mate love your channel what are the pros and cons for GWM?

    • @wheelsbytheocean
      @wheelsbytheocean  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've done a few reviews on my channel :)
      Lots or pros as per my reviews. But I guess cons are I don't like Lane Keep Assist. The adaptive cruise control doesn't work properly since I fitted my big tyres, I think needs recalibration but that's my own doing. I bloody love the ute. Don't really have much bad to say about it. Oh the key when it's in my pocket I hit the alarm button all the time and set the alarm off hahaha very annoying but also my own doing haha. I've had to do a couple manual dpf burns, I think gwm could figure out a smarter way of letting you know when you need to do a manual burn, perhaps giving you 10 mins notice before it goes into limp mode. But this rarely happens and most other gwm owners have never experienced a manual burn
      Hope this info helps. I'd buy another gwm cannon in a heartbeat
      Cheers 🍻

    I think WA is the only state that National Parks are not free. Glad to see you and family safe travelling . Im hoping to get GWM Shanhai ute with split tailgate next year .

    • @wheelsbytheocean
      @wheelsbytheocean  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So true! It's terrible that they make you pay. I keep looking for signs around the qld ones for fees thinking surley I have to pay hahaha
      Those Shanghai Ute's look unreal aye!!!! I would love one of those!! So curious to see what price they come in at!
      Cheers mate. Thanks for watching!

      Qld National Parks is all done online. They aren't free.
      However, where you were stopped by the Development Road is not National Parks, it's all good, but once in the Qld National Parks fees apply, fortunately minor fee compared to some states, twas about $7 per night per person I think last time I was up in Qld, 2021-22
      There is a family rate also which caters for you.
      You temperature climbing will be a bit of auto trannie but the majority will be combustion.
      If you had a Exhaust Gas Temp Gauge you'd see those temps rocket up, I'm betting you'd be exceeding 700°C, need to back off, drop down a gear and take it steady.
      You're about to encounter the great dividing range on the east coast, lots of steep gradients, 8% & 10% is nothing, those signs placed there for road trains transporting goods up to Weipa & road reconstruction road trains transporting in new road base just so they're aware a gradient is ahead. You'll need to adjust your driving pattern or damage your head etc from too much combustion heat.
      Another TH-camr from WA driving his 200 series thought he had issues with his auto and motor as it wasn't retaining gears as they were used to and car was struggling.
      Turns out they were just not familiar with the great dividing range. You'll encounter that as well, the Cannon will be struggling like it did up Elephant Pass, 50 klms on hour will become the normal.
      Nothing too steep immediately ahead of you now that I can recall, but once back down south you'll encounter the ranges I speak of.
      Enjoy the Cape.

    old mate probably should have just disconnected the van repositioned the ute and driven straight out

    • @wheelsbytheocean
      @wheelsbytheocean  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey :)
      I should have put some context on this.
      The caravan was towed in by a Isuzu Dmax (older fella with the shovel) he was driving. Then the guys with the patrols showed up and they spent hours down there. Disconnecting old mates Isuzu and then hooking up to the Patrol. Etc it was an absolute mission and the sand was soooo soft.
      Was very entertaining haha
