I am so happy to be back, nourish ones! I took a little break to plan out content for 2024, and definitely missed you all! 🥰 Thank you for your patience, and I hope you all found value in this video! What actionable step can you take this week to edge closer to your aspirations? Personally, I'm focusing on enhancing my muscle mass, and I've realized that I can definitely include more protein in breakfast. Unlike lunch and dinner, it's not first nature to prioritize protein in the morning (yet!). My aim is to incorporate more high-protein foods into my breakfast routine to facilitate lean muscle growth. What is your takeaway from this video? What can you begin doing this week to reach your wellness goals?
I have been a member of the Nourish Center and it would be hard to overstate how amazing the service that Shanon and her fabulous team provide. I learnt so much and continue to benefit from what I now put into practice. For example I had no real idea why fibre was so important to control cholesterol, but Shanon explains things so well and makes these changes fun and doable. I don't need to lose weight and but need more muscle and will be eating more protein. Thank you!
Debra, thank you for your fantastic review! Providing top-notch service to all our clients is our utmost priority. We are beyond grateful that you had such a wonderful experience with us. ❤️
Hi Shanon. I am a subscriber for a while now but this is the first time that I've seen one of your videos in a long time. I received a ddiabetes diagnosis in 2011 but I have never been prescribed medication. I was sent to classes and given a meal plan. My problem right now is cholesterol control. I see you have a video on lowering cholesterol so I'm going to look at it. I will try and work on the calorie deficit. I don't quite know how yet but I will review this video to understand this better.
Thank you for being a part of our community 😊 Yes, I took a mini break to plan content, so that I can always give you value when you watch. Because you are trying to manage diabetes I would definitely emphasize always having a source of fiber and protein at meal time. That will help with both your blood sugar and cholesterol. Best of luck, and I hope the videos continue to help you!❤😊
Great advice. I will follow the calorie deficit starting tomorrow. I only eat protein 3 times a week ( chicken breast, salmon, sardines). Do I need to eat protein every day? To lose some weight, should I reduce calories or carbs?
You should ideally eat protein daily. If you are only eating animal-based proteins (chicken, salmon, etc.) a few times a week, you can get protein from plant-based sources like beans, chickpeas, tofu, nuts, seeds, plant-based protein powders, etc on the other days of the week. You also do not need to reduce carbs when trying to lose weight. Just eat a high-protein diet with moderate carbs and fats. The biggest thing when it comes to weight loss is to be in a SMALL calorie deficit (reduce calories). Hope this helps!
That is not a myth! It is true. Your BMR, or more importantly REE is the amount of calorie your body needs at rest, especially for your vital organs to function. So it would be in your best interest not to eat below it for extended periods of time because this could result in you slowing down your metabolism.

Do you have an app to make sure you are at a calorie deficit?

I've been eating two 14" cheese pizza over three days for the last three years. Can I take supplements to counter the vitamin deficiencies?
Is it a myth that you should not eat below BMR?

Portion control and eat more protein!!
Those two tips are great!
