I can’t thank you enough for making this video. My liver specialist is giving me 3 months to get my cholesterol 278 down and my fatty liver 268. He said to eat a Mediterranean diet. No details. When you said fiber I said someone is FINALLY giving me an answer and not a prescription. I eat fresh veg, hardly anything from your list! Of 10 foods. It’s SOLUBLE fiber that is needed to clear out cholesterol. I hope it will also lower/ clear out my fatty liver. He wants to biopsy it when I go back. I don’t want a biopsy. I want a solution! Thank you so much.

Good sources of soluble fiber include oats, beans, lentils, apples, citrus fruits, and barley. Hello from Ireland! 🍀 It's great to have you here. If you're looking to lower uric acid levels, especially if you're dealing with gout or other related concerns, here are some dietary tips: - Staying well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water can help dilute uric acid in your bloodstream and promote its excretion. -Cherries: Cherries, whether fresh or as cherry juice, are often praised for their potential to reduce uric acid levels. -Low-Purine Diet: Reducing foods high in purines, like organ meats, certain seafood (like anchovies and sardines), and some types of beans, can be beneficial. -Moderate Protein: Limiting high-protein foods, particularly red meat and poultry, can help control uric acid levels. -Fruits and Vegetables: Include plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet, as they are generally low in purines and can have a positive impact on uric acid. BE SURE to consult with your doctor or a registered dietitian for personalized advice though! They can provide guidance tailored to your situation. Take care! 🍇🥦🥗

Hey , my name is Keith Thompson from Atlanta, Georgia, USA. I have type 2 diabetes mellitus without complications without current use of insulin, high cholesterol, or triglycerides ,elevated blood pressure reading hypertension, mental health care ,prediabetes, and other medical condition too
Really enjoyed your presentation Shannon! It was a fabulously informative and helpful video with specific examples as well as the basis for the efficacy of your suggestions. Thank you for offering the insights without teasing us to take your class. Your ability to explain and provide analogies made the recommendations memorable. That alone prompted me to subscribe and will have me consider future classes you offer. Well done!
This is such a kind comment and encourages me to keep going! With all the schooling I had to do to become a dietitian, I would be remiss if I didn't make content to help others use that info to improve their health. I am glad you are finding the videos helpful and I look forward to continue to make videos that inspire you to live a well-nourished life!

I am 45 years-old middle-aged man with type 2 diabetes mellitus without complications and without current use of insulin and your health conditions too.
Hi ! I'm watching your video and I am intrigued. I do suffer with high cholesterol, but of late I try to eat a lot of vegetables like ochroes and leafy green vegetables and my cholesterol is way down that my family is telling me its too low. I am trying to remember because I am not at home asnd I dont eat meat as such anymore .I use flax seeds daily chea seeds provisions . What do think of cooking your food with coconut milk? I doea it and i find it good too instead of using a lot of oil. I am into county living and i do eat off the land
It's wonderful to hear that you're making positive dietary changes and seeing a reduction in your cholesterol levels. Incorporating vegetables like ochroes and leafy greens, as well as flax seeds and chia seeds, can be fantastic for your health. Coconut milk adds a delicious flavor and richness to dishes while being a source of healthy fats. However, it's calorie-dense and also can be a little high in saturated fat, so moderation is key. The research is currently mixed right now on coconut milk's effect on cholesterol. As long as it fits into your overall balanced diet. It's essential to continue monitoring your cholesterol levels with your healthcare provider to ensure they remain within a healthy range. Your plant-based and whole-food approach is a fantastic step towards better heart health! 🥥🌿🍽️
My cholesterol is 240ish. Ca score 0. Hx of hypothyroid & sleep apnia. 5'5" 160 lb family hx stroke. My hubby is 6'2. 190lbs. Cholesterol 170, Ca score 1500, hi BP. Family hx of cardiac conditions. We do not eat anything out of a box. Rarely eat out. VERY Little meat or processed foods. I'm unclear about what you are saying about soy. Soy and estrogen was a big issue with breast Ca prior to my retirement as a mammographer.. When did this info change? I grew up in a family of RD's/nutritionists. I need suggestions to lower cholesterol, d/c wt to hopefully get rid of c-pap.
Magnesium should help…lowest dose is usually 250mg. Tablets…can buy a bottle in most any store (grocery, Walmart, Target, any pharmacy, etc.)…start low and slow. Give him 250mg. tablet or gummy before bed. After about 24hrs. if no BM, then give one tablet upon waking up and another after dinner. Make sure to have plenty of healthy liquids available…especially water. An Apple 🍎 a day keeps the doctor away is a good saying, and still holds true. They have fiber, which is another important factor to help with his issue. Of course, the old standby…prunes…can be added into cereal. Oatmeal is good, and many fruits can be added to it. Hopefully this will help 👍🏻😊
Great information. I unfortunately have gluten, wheat and grain allergies so oats are out even the gluten free ones because it's a grain...The other things on the list I can definitely have.
I am so glad I came across your channel. You explain the information in an easy to understand everyday language. I hit subscribe halfway into the video 😊.
Loved your style of presentation, clear and to the point. Very well explained, I just got my test results, and the cholesterol and triglycerides are high. A few years ago, I had my gallbladder removed, and soft stool has been an issue too. I am going to put your knowledge to the test, let's see if in 3 months my results come back better. Thank you for doing this video. Will come back and give feedback.
It's easy to see why you have so many followers. You're extraordinarily gifted at communicating complicated information. My goal is to reduce my cholesterol with diet and exercise. I'd prefer to avoid statins, but my doctor is pressuring me. We have compromised this month, with a promise to retest levels Aug. 7. Fingers crossed.
Thank you so much for your kind words! 🙏😊 I'm glad to hear that the information is helpful to you. Reducing cholesterol through diet and exercise is a fantastic goal, and it's great that you're taking proactive steps. 🤞🌟 If you ever need more information or support, feel free to ask. Wishing you the best on your health journey! 🌱💪
I know! I was so upset about that after rewatching lol. But, to be fair, both chickpeas and chia seeds are good for cholesterol 😉. Thanks for watching!! If you're enjoying, feel free to subscribe. Keep an eye out for our new video premiering this week! 🎞️

Glad the video was helpful! As far as the statins, this is something you need to talk to your doctor about. Explain to your doctor your desire to modify your nutrition and lifestyle habits first, and then get their opinion on the statins. Best of luck!
Hi Shanon, I loved this style of presentation mainly because it was easy to press pause and really absorb all the information before moving on with the rest of the video. That said, I am very grateful for any videos that you kindly provide, but if it means you can produce even more content then this style please. I really appreciated the 10 foods listed at the end and the really understandable way to work out how much fiber is in each food. Do you have any thoughts on psyllium husk powder and inulin powder please? Thank you!
Hello Debra! I look forward to reading your comments! Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughtful feedback on the video. I'm glad that the presentation style was helpful and made it easy for you to absorb the information.💡📝👍🏼 It's great to know that you found the 10 foods list at the end of the video useful and that the explanation on how to calculate fiber intake was easy to understand. Regarding your question about psyllium husk powder and inulin powder, both are excellent sources of dietary fiber and have been shown to have numerous health benefits. However, it's always best to consult with a healthcare professional or registered dietitian before adding any new supplements to your diet. Thank you for watching the video and for your support! 🤗🎉🍓
I enjoyed this presentation and made a list of the 10 soluble fiber foods to eat. My cholesterol levels were high at my last annual check up so I need to bring the levels down. I would also like to know what the insoluble fiber foods are that help with constipation. I look forward to viewing that video as well. Thanks for the valuable information.

I nearly shut this video down if there was going to be no to be even one more teaser about this dang list and what’s number one, lol. Loved, loved, loved your presentation, information, and personality throughout this video. Just had a blood test, and my cholesterol is high. I was doing keto at the beginning of the year, which was great. However, I am no longer on it and am struggling to get back to something that I can stick to. My discipline is up and down, but your video has triggered a light bulb moment. The list of soluble fibres and the benefits... I kind of knew, but listening to your video it's hit me in a different way, specifically with regards to cholesterol. I am feeling mentally energised and encouraged. Thank you for posting this. I've also just subscribed. Thank you again for posting. God bless you xx
I'm SO glad to hear that my video resonated with you and provided a new perspective on managing cholesterol. I am so glad you found it helpful!! Thank you!
I also have low blood pressure. How do I prevent it while on a low cholesterol diet?
1. Consult with your doctor or a dietitian
2. Reduce stress
3. Reduce salt intake (specifically sodium)
4. IF you have overweight or obesity, research does show losing 5% of your body weight can help.
These are the TOP three things I work on with my clients to help them lower blood pressure. Hope it helps :)
I love the way U simplified ur presentation. Please keep updating us.

Thank you! I am so thankful to find you. I did subscribe. Cholesterol is my biggest problem.I have one month for a new blood test. Help me. I did watch the don't eat foods. My guess is maybe oatmeal?
You're very welcome, and thank you for subscribing! Oatmeal is actually a great choice for managing cholesterol due to its soluble fiber content, which can help lower LDL cholesterol levels. Remember to also limit saturated and trans fats, as well as refined sugars and processed foods. Thank you for your kind words! 🌟 I'm glad you found the information on cholesterol helpful. Okra is indeed a great addition to the list of soluble fiber-rich foods. It can help lower cholesterol levels and support overall heart health. Including okra in your diet, along with other soluble fiber sources like oats, beans, and fruits, can be a delicious and nutritious way to promote a healthy heart. Keep up your quest for knowledge and good health! 🌿🥦🍏
Any foods to lower uric acid.. watching from ireland 55 y/o female..thank you
Hello from Ireland! 🍀 It's great to have you here. If you're looking to lower uric acid levels, especially if you're dealing with gout or other related concerns, here are some dietary tips:
- Staying well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water can help dilute uric acid in your bloodstream and promote its excretion.
Take care! 🍇🥦🥗

I am 45 years-old middle-aged man with type 2 diabetes mellitus without complications and without current use of insulin and your health conditions too.
Welcome to the channel! I hope my videos can help you improve your health!
I would like to know more about insoluble fiber for my 10 year old grandson who is always constipated.

@@nourishcenter I dropped 39 points. Woo-hoo!
Very good presentation, but I noticed you said chickpeas several times when you meant to say chia seeds😉
I know! I was so upset about that after rewatching lol. But, to be fair, both chickpeas and chia seeds are good for cholesterol 😉. Thanks for watching!! If you're enjoying, feel free to subscribe. Keep an eye out for our new video premiering this week! 🎞️

Wow, thank you!
Thank you this video is awesome well explained i am going to try it out one question if i have genetic problem should i still go on statins
Glad the video was helpful! As far as the statins, this is something you need to talk to your doctor about. Explain to your doctor your desire to modify your nutrition and lifestyle habits first, and then get their opinion on the statins. Best of luck!
Great information, thank you so much! 👏🏽 I like the new format too.
Oh this is wonderful! I am so glad that you do. What topic would you be interested in me covering next, Kay? :)
@@nourishcenter Maybe foods that give you energy or boost your metabolism? If this exists. 🤷🏽♀️
Loved your video how you explainee it tyank you
Hi Shanon, I loved this style of presentation mainly because it was easy to press pause and really absorb all the information before moving on with the rest of the video.
