Love this stuff. Was getting into this 2yrs ago (aged 50+) then shattered my left wrist and a year later fractured the right.. desperately want to get back into this but flexion and mobility is seriously impaired.. Will keep aiming to improve and never give up.
This video provides insane value, I love the step by step tutorials where there are specific goals to achieve until you eventually get comfortable with the movement, keep them coming!
I want to give you a tremendous thank you for this. I'm just starting to get into more advanced movements on the rings and this was extremely helpful. I've never seen it explained in such clear and accurate detail. Consider me a new subscriber.
Thanks sir, yesterday I tried to do chin-ups on rings with a false grip and I felt it hard to grip.. and now your video about it ... Man you can read minds.😁
Yeah, been practicing for a while. Can do straight arm rows and bent arm hangs. Straight arm hangs are still a way off. False grip requires lots of forearm and grip strength, as well as wrist mobility, none of which I am naturally endowed with!
The Quality of the videos in this Chanel are insane 👌 and bring @gymnatic methods in the first league with other very popular channels like fitness FAQ, calisthenics movement, saturno movement, gmb fitness.
This video has opened my eyes to a serious problem I have had for years now with my wrists/forearms. I saw using gymnastics rings on a power lifting channel to build forearm strength. That's why a clicked on a different video of yours and then came to this one. When I flex my wrists (especially on my right side) like to do a push up or lifting weights, I keep hurting my forearms at my wrist, also my right elbow. Maybe the elbow is also a forearm problem, too. I was thinking it was a strength problem. But now I see that I need to stretch a lot! I haven't done any gymnastics since I was in High School. I did train for Kung Fu privately with a friend of mine when I went to a different High School. So I completely understand the benefits of stretching beyond what most people think is possible. I was shocked when I saw you lift up bending at your knuckles. I did not think that was even possible. Now I know what I need to do. Thank you very much. This is a really important thing for me.
Hy Adam ! Could u help me or somebody ? I would like to start workout with the rings and I have a issue with it. I have no problem with the straps , I have a qs about the Rings. The wooden rings almost every video seems to unfold and some metal rings seen to fixed to the strap or wire. I have idea how to attach to the strap not to rotate on the strap. My question is this important ? or need more advanced skills ? Is there any differnce ? Thx
Hi i would like to train more, i trained for 5yeras with little pauses but 4,5y with weights and i moved to workout…. Im currently training mo: active recovery, tu: upper, wed: lower, thu: static skills training, fri: active recovery, sat: upper, sun: lower and reper. I would like to switch to upper lower upper active rest and repeat this so i will be training 4 times upper and 2 times lower one week and second 3 times upper and 2 time lower. Is this possible with good training structure.
I would like to ask you is it normal in neutral position of the hands when I’m trying to perform false grip to feel tension in my forearms. It’s like I’m stretching an tendon or something. I have no experience with false grip at all
I Remember. once I was so overweight and the good doctor told me to lose some weight. A friend suggested Gymnastics. Tried this, the Gymnastic Ring. Failed miserably! 😭 So I switched to the Uneven Bars ...They're Even Now!
Is there such a thing that my hands could be too big or wrong size ring. I try and lock out my arms on the bottom with this grip and it slips off my bone onto my hand.
Great video, thanks for explaining the false grip in such detail. I've got a question out of the blue, if you happen to read and want to give a reply. I'm turning 50 in a couple of months and I've been "interested" in calisthenics for the past year, with some sort of progress in terms of muscle, but I would say I'm still in the "pre" phase (say I could do 20 standard push-ups) - I set out a goal for the year to be able to keep *tuck* planche for 5-10 seconds, it seemed a reasonable goal, but now I'm having second thoughts... Do you think that's realistic?
Hi michele I'm obviously not him but I'll advice you to don't put certain time for a hard progression. Go for small goals per week or month, take care of your technique, make one more rep. Or start with a harder progression.
@@oscarolvera9069 thanks for your reply! You know, these "yearly goals" have a good effect on me :) But I hear what you say: take it one step at the time, on a weekly/monthly basis. My question is more related to the ability, past a certain age, to perform certain skills which might just be too hard. For that, I thought that Adam might have some experience as he's coached many people.
When you are at the skinny fat phase it’s down to your diet bro, cut out sugar and junk food, eat clean and high intensity workouts you’ll see the fat come down

so i have been working on these progressions for last 3 -4weeks and just on 2nd progression currently. is it normal for me to not be able to hold the false grip and have straight arms? thanks for any help
You have to let your arms rotate to a position where they find it comfortable to get straight. That specific position of the wrists makes your tendons super tight in supinated and even in neutral position. I found the sweet spot right after the prone, with the palms kinda looking in opposite directions.

@@gatis9705 yeah, i'm just doing too many things at once. i take the dog with me, because that's part of his daily walk, but in the winter it's too cold for him to just be sitting there, even though i throw the ball for him between sets, it's not enough to warm him up. so he goes for long jogs with me in the winter. the dog comes first. he's my dude. i'm sure you can relate.
im so very close to achieving ring muscle up! i train hard and i am not giving up on my goal. for me the hardest part is not the false grip anymore, its the transition phase. i dont have enough strenght in my lower tricep close to the elbow, and its hurting me to push hard when my arm is fully bent to the chest
