Thanks for your comments, a friend saw your video and was disappointed with the watch and offered it to me for 150 dollars, so thanks to you, I couldn't resist that purchase.
I know opinions vary but this watch brought me to the higher end G Shock game. Most diving watches are analog. Who hates on a rolex sub because it doesnt have a compass? Modern dive computers do all of this for you. A real 200 ISO WR, sapphire, BT connectivity, Tough Case and high legibility are what make this what it is. I like this more than the digital frogman.
It's an ISO certified diver - that is also a G-Shock. That word Divers doesn't come cheap. Looking at the watch from that angle, it's well worth the money. Love my blue one.
There's more to it than just being "5 months". That 5 months assumes a certain amount of daily light, alarm, and Bluetooth usage, along with 45 dives during that time with light actuations and Bluetooth data synchronization. All without ever seeing sunlight.
Regarding the sensors why add depth sensors (which may require a secondary LCD display) when as far as I understand it most serious divers would prefer to use a dive computer for this purpose. Please correct me if I am wrong. I am not a diver but I did ask a Royal Navy diver about it. Thanks for the video. I have two GWF-A1000 watches and am looking to buy the new CF one. P.S. I think that your negative review about new anologic g shock frogman is influenced to the fact you love more the digital g shock an not the analogic models of many other g shock. my personal opinion is that new analogic frogman g shock is a pick of high ingegnery and a great strument for all divers around the world. The visibility of the dial( hand hour minute and second) is more more high than frogman digital versione and this is most important for who work in water place. G shock analogic frogman is now a very impressive watch that uk marins have chose as number 1 of all divers watches around the world.
I dont understand how you in the military and police can use these watches. They are so ugly, can barely look at it and hard to even see what you are looking at and you must push that button to even see all the time so annoying.
-The price is fine.a prospex cost the same and this one has sapphire glass and really well built. It also uses the same custom movement than the MR-Gs and MT-Gs -auto light is not used when diving as it can quickly drain your battery. I really dont like auto light as it can also distract other drivers and make them think you are in distress or something. -battery last less because of the high powered 3 hand motors with dual speed.not an issue really since this watch is solar powered so it will never be less than full unless you put it in a drawer. - sensors: divers already have dive computers .it would be cool if it had a depth meter but this is an authentic dive watch not a diving computer. Sensors are a gimmick and does not make for a good diving watch. Why doesnt seiko get ctitizised for their prospex not having sensors.. it is ridiculous, casio already said they are trying to make high end watches so the gimmicks have to go. -use the dive function as a timer since it moves all the hands out of the way and uses the main hands as a timer. - this watch is actually selling really well, so much actually than casio is releasing new versions already. If it was selling bad it would not be making new versions. - this is hands down the best looking and more unique watch in thr g-shock line. And instead of making yet one more rolex submariner homage like the rest they made a homage to their own watch. -All analog frogmans are made in japan so "JDM version" means nothing with this watch, all of these are JDMs (which is why is more expensive too)
K bro, as an owner of both, the A- Frog can be fun but vastly inferior to the D-Frog. The "bUT yOu Don't diVE argument is getting tiring as much as "diVErs uSE CoMpUtErs" and do you know what else are they using? Diving watches. Even Casio advises at the very first pages of the manual that this is a backup device that is to be used along a diving computer... You know, like every diving watch. Redundancy is never a bad thing in space and underwater. D- Fros is unapologetically tool diving watch that doesn't give a fuck if your slender wrists will never see deeper than the bathub. He is created to do business and doesn't try to hide it, and meanwhile on the analog one I had to set the tide level through the app in order to make it usable, and you have the audacity to lecture "Hurr durr GImmiCks uhh". The timer and chronograph functions are... Passable and vastly inferior to every basic digital G- Shock. The buttons - metal on one side - good, cheapish plastic on the other? Why? It ruins the feel and symmetry of the watch. Here you have this cool and solid carbon case with good metal buttons and all of a sudden cheap plastic. Frogman is supposed to be a premium tier... This is a questionable decision. Same goes for start/stop timing, the watch does not make a sound and sometimes it is confusing, like did I press it? Oh, no I didn't... So please, just because you don't like GWF D-1000 and you don't know what it's all about, don't cheapen his existence.
For me when there is so much data going on I always like a digital cluster for quick reference. Hence I adore the digi Froggy. I must admit I haven't bought one of these analogue versions yet so need to do so and test it properly to say for sure. Considering the watch has Bluetooth, sapphire crystal, and it is more durable with the monocoque carbon fiber construction, it’s well worth it than the previous digital models. It’s a shame it’s not digital but the watch still very attractive in the analog perspective.

G-SHOCK probably wanted to offer some variety as well and compete with the top divers because as far as I know, the Frogman is G-SHOCK’s true professional diver watch. People they just like to bash or hit a manufacturer negatively for not making a watch to their liking. Can’t please everyone I guess.

I had the GWF-1000 for a few months before selling it, just couldn't handle the size and couldn't fall in love with digital. But now I'm seriously considering this analog version, god help me 😅
Carbon monocoque isn't more durable than DLC stainless steel, lol. It's just as strong but significantly cheaper to manufacture, and it's a lot lighter. They've done this for other G-Shocks like the GBD-H2000 too.
Carbon is quite resistant to stretching but not so for vertical hits.More over due to a stress DLC will deform but stay in tact while carbon monocoque will break. It is used purely to cut costs of production.
I like it. for the most part we dont use all the functions most of the time. For me even during military training and operations i use it mostly to check time. Even divers only use this as a back up
Like every Frogman, they're massive and need time to get used to. This one in particular has a softer strap than the others thus fits better to smaller wrist, also very very very comfortable.
I'm a g-shock collector and I had the Royal Navy version of this for 1 week. Although it was built like a tank, I found the user interface to be complicated and unnatural. The other Bluetooth G-Shocks I have are easier to use. I find the og Rangeman to be the best all rounder.
As much as I love my GWG-1000 - being the G Shock that opened the Master of G door for me, I have to admit the GW-9400 really is the best all rounder. 1. The instant stopwatch button proves to be useful for my situation working at the airport where I need to time our turnaround for every aircrafts we handle. 2. In my particular case, the recall/print screen feature - although sounds too gimmicky is also very useful to record specific times for any events occurring around me during work. 3. The compass would be considered as a party trick for some people, but I use it mainly to tell my prayer direction/qiblah.
I bought my GWF-A1000-1A2ER from G=Shock UK day one, I had to add one more Frogman to the collection. Its a stunning watch, the aesthetics are bang on for me. I'm a self certified Desk Diver, I love this watch and as always its a case of different strokes for different folks.
Thing would be fun to wear after a couple years of nothing but the triple sensor mud master. wish there was a place I could rent it or something for a week. lol!
I sold every Casio I owned (23) of them and kept only one....and the winner is the Gravitymaster GPW-2000 .....That's the best do anything anywhere Casio !
They're downgrading all of their master of g watches lately ever since the carbon core era began. The mudmaster and gravitymaster don't have solar charging anymore, no more alpha gel or sapphire glass either. Frogman isn't as big a downgrade but still feels worse

Seiko charges 600 dollars plus for their dive watche thag are not made in japan and have 0 sensors or else . I think casio has screwed its own brand by offering low price options of g shocks. What i do think is 9ver priced is special edition versions.

its a frog man im sure youre not going to ruin the hands leaping and jumping and being froggy by enabling an auto light or implementing a button combination that arrests the hands. even to get them out of the way for a bit. im pretty sure its designed so like imagine being on a boat when the waves are heavy and your arms bouncing around and the auto illuminations going crazy and you accidentally hit "move hands" and the whole thing slams against a wall and breaks. lol. EDIT: nvm the hands move but its just one button. which makes its froggable lol. or something

I've got solar abc Protreks with 6 months battery stand by so the sensors should not be affecting the battery life. I'm guessing the dual time function plus the lack of an LCD display is why there's no sensor package in this watch. If they did the dial would have gotten too busy with all the extra complications that would need to be displayed. Features the dive watch crowd probably doesn't care about anyway.
whats going on with the sensors on this thing isnt a barometer just a depth sensor? they say the quad sensor was a seperate sensor for depth. but those involve like pinging sounds and youd have to know the depth of the lake to get accurate read outs. whats going on with it.

I love the analog Frogman. Mine is the one with the black strap. Paid $680 shipped from Sakura Watches. Not cheap, but well worth the price.

It's a great watch, but it should have had a stainless steel case back, instead of the cheaper carbon monocoque.

How difficult would it be to change the battery on one of these monocoque cases?
It's much more difficult than a screw back case, hence why only the service centre can repair it.

Gwg2000 is the same as the original mud master but better with the carbon fiber core guard

It is huge! Ok it is a tool watch but Casio should make smaller Frogmans for smaller wrists and for a everyday use. It costs about 1000€...
