      I picked up one of these lights recently after seeing this video, months ago. Fortunately, I did NOT wire mine on the outside of my razor tour pack. I picked up some grommets at my local hardware store, drilled an appropriate hole behind the passenger seat pad just below the top edge, another hole in the front near the bottom of the lower section of the pack... disassembled the connector, fed it thru the holes, used the mounting tabs and tie wrap from the light kit, and it came out nice and neat, internally wired and water proof

    Have to put on lights on king trunk on my victory same one that is used on a harley ultra if their 700 lbs and over that’s i big bike to lift don’t drop it at gas pump or hope goes the other way instead in the pumps crash bars and one of the pipe saves on your saddle bags

    The shame they didn’t put the wire down lower where you could have the option to poke a hole in remove the pins put it through the hall run it up the top down the side out the bottom see my tour pack I bought aftermarket I put a second hole in the base for wires to go through get me another rubber grommet show it we need to pass to there also I don’t even have to pass it through there and pass to the other one and just tie into what’s inside my tour pack because I have a light on my rack and also go to the rear so I can go inside there that would be neat

    How has this held up in the long run? Still look good? no moisture getting in? Also....does the backrest cover most of the wire that is on top of the tour pack right by the LED? It was hard to tell, but looks like it hid most of it. I really like the idea behind this particular light because its up high and visible.

    • @Touringmidwest
      @Touringmidwest  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rbljackson yeah, it is pretty well covered up. I’ve removed it just because I had so many lights on my bike and I wanted to cut back.. but yes it worked just fine.

      I don't but I'm sure they have install instructions on thier web site. Otherwise they are very helpful over there so you should give them a call.

    I like the looks of this light, but not the exterior wires portion. Did they mold the wire location on the back of the light so that external is the only option? Thanks.

      I think so. But you could reach out to CD for confirmation one way or another.

    Anyone else have a problem with the sync? They all work great but the dash indicators are reacting as a light is out. Rapid bling on road king 2019 after several attempts to snyc

    I'm sorry....love the CD products. However not this install. Do you think that drilling a hole, for the wire to pass thru the lid is doable? Would the light cover the hole? Then you can route the wire down the hinge and out thru the grommet with the other wires. Will be far more professional looking.

    • @Touringmidwest
      @Touringmidwest  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think it would cover the hole.. might be a way, I'm sure you could secure the wire closer to the hinge area or route it a little different than I did but either way it's all covered up with the back rest other than when the lid is open. I think I left more than I needed for slack also but I just didn't want to have to worry about it getting pulled out or something.

      I know this is a new reply for an old post but,, I just did an internal install for this. I have a razor tour pack and I hid the holes behind the passenger seat pad....easy to do.

    I appreciate your videos. It gives me a chance to think through what I want to do or don’t want to do with my bike. I’ve done about half of what I see you doing on your bike. Touring Midwest I think for me, since I travel with something on my luggage rack quite a bit, the fact the light would be obscured is one issue on this one for me. Probably the other issue is the awkwardness of the wire and trying to make sure it doesn’t get crimped by the lid closing. With my “luck”, I’d clip that thing in two after closing my lid twice. I watched your vids before on the tail light and the fillerz and I went out and bought my own. I think Custom Dynamix should give you some commission.

      @@RevJay_Rides Na.. Custom Dynamics treats me pretty well but I definitely appreciate the kind words, I'm glad you've found these videos helpful. That's what its all about.. I've installed tons of lights on my bike and I don't always leave all of them installed but it creates content and shows viewers like yourself what it looks like, how it's installed, function, etc. I enjoy the heck out of it and also the conversations here in the comments.

    Good video Andrew. I like the light bar and the presence it gives. More light to help you be seen. I'm all about that. I'm I surprised CD didn't find a way to hide the wire and give a quick connect option. Your videos are always entertaining and informative. Thanks Man.

    Nor a fan of how the wire is so exposed. Think I'll pass on this light
