    Speaking from legit experience with this EXACT same part number on my 2016 SXT I have owned since new; the exhaust drown is LOUD AS SHIT inside. It’s LOUD AS FUCK in the interior. I even have leather to absorb more. It’s over the top drone. BUT it looks fucking fantastic with the quad tips.

      @karankapoor508 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Somit does have a lot of drone sound inside?

  • @mjg1312

    This seems way easier than measuring and cutting pipes yourself. I don’t know why people are upset about this product. It is definitely on my list.

    • @AmericanMuscleDodge
      @AmericanMuscleDodge  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most people get upset at the price for what essentially is just a muffler delete. But considering this is something that you can do yourself in the driveway without taking your car to the shop, *and* its made by a high quality company like Mangaflow which comes with a warranty, I think it's well worth it. -Zach

    • @MandyReyesDesigns
      @MandyReyesDesigns 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just got this installed and I really like it. The drone inside at low rpm is pretty loud but I'm getting used to it. My questions are, is this a mid muffler delete and a resonator delete? And since the cat con is still intact does a car also have to have mufflers to pass inspections or is it just a noise thing. Last question, is an axel back exhaust a straight pipe exhaust?

    So you can pay close to 600 bucks for this or you can go to your local exhaust shop and have the same thing done for like 80 bucks

    • @AmericanMuscleDodge
      @AmericanMuscleDodge  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      If you have a local exhaust shop nearby that doesn't mind custom fabrication, go for it! Kits like these are definitely easier for people who want to put things on themselves and not have to pay a shop, though. -Zach

    First things first , in the rear, they are Resonators NOT mufflers. Check the handbook. In all honesty just get the resonators deleted (in the rear under the trunk) and this will add a nice sound to it. Its nothing crazy but that is exactly what i did and its got a very nice sound at higher rpms. Right where the resonators were cut i had the pipe upsized to a 2.5 inch and added quad tips. At around 3,000 rpms there is a slight drone but i personally like it so i dont mind.
    I have a 2018 challenger sxt. This cost me exactly 200$ to remove the resonators and an additional 240$ to remove the fake tips and weld two brand new quad tips i got to pick out. But look around and you could most likely find it cheaper

    • @blackwagonmovies
      @blackwagonmovies 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      How bad is your interior drone? I have a 2016 SXT, I thought it was 2.5" pipes stock anyway but you had to upgrade to that? Im just worried about the drone inside the cabin being a nightmare.... can you talk on a cell and play the radio low volume and still be ok? Thanks

    • @essquizzy
      @essquizzy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blackwagonmovies well since then ive changed up the exhaust setup. But with the resonators removed, the drone isnt bad at all. You can definitely listen to the radio low with a call. As soon as you remove the mid mufflers also it gets way louder with a lot more drone. But the stock pipes at least on the 2018 are 2.25 inch so I upped to 2.5

      @@the_apex_predator962 sorry for the late reply, if you decide to widen the pipes will will sort of give it a bit of a deeper tone yea but nothing crazy. check out boostedluckeys channel, he used to have a straight piped sxt with i think 3 inch pipes all the way. you can hear how his sounded.

    so essentially it's just a resonator delete with a straight pipe replacement. then why do I pay 500 more than what my mechanic is asking for doing exactly that? are the simple stainless steel pipes by magnaflow somethong special than regular pipes?

    • @AmericanMuscleDodge
      @AmericanMuscleDodge  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're paying for a couple different things in this instance. You're paying for the pre-bent and guaranteed-to-fit 409 stainless steel pipes, ease of install, the included limited lifetime warranty, and the polished 304 stainless double-walled 3.5" quad tips. You could definitely have something similar done at a local shop if you preferred! The overall fit and finish may just be different. -Zach

    Can you explain what's done to this? I had a 2010 dodge charger sxt 3.5 that had a magnaflow cat back exhaust when I bought it. I loved the sound. Tues I'm picking up a 2023 challenger GT. I know absolutely nothing about cars or what to get but love the sound in this video. What exactly is done to the car? What's removed? Idk what a delete of anything means lol. I wanna explain to the dealership what I wanna do to make sure it won't void my warranty

    Ik for most exhaust mods if not tuned it can cause problems to the engine. Such things as engine lights go on.

    • @AmericanMuscleDodge
      @AmericanMuscleDodge  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope! You really never had to tune for an axle-back exhaust system. They normally just change or remove the factory muffler. It's when you start messing with catalytic converters, that's when tuning becomes necessary. -Zach

    • @AmericanMuscleDodge
      @AmericanMuscleDodge  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The tone may slightly differ, but it would be about the same. The main thing you get when buying Magnaflows system will be the high-quality components, the engineered sound, 409 stainless tubing and 304 stainless tips, as well as their lifetime warranty. -Zach

      This axle-back kit will fit your 2020 SXT just fine! I would double check with your local dealership just to be sure, but a small kit like this should not void your vehicles extended warranty since you aren't changing anything via tuning, or taking out any catalytic converters. -Zach

    Hi, I have a 2019 Dodge Challenger SXT. I want to add this to my car but I noticed on the Q&A that it said these are not meant for stock cars and I will loose power. Could you explain that a little better? On the description it says I will add HP.

    • @AmericanMuscleDodge
      @AmericanMuscleDodge  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This axle-back exhaust will fit your Challenger no problem, and can be installed on a stock car no problem. In theory, all motors benefit from having a little bit of back pressure to retain exhaust scavenging - which is where the movement of gases through the exhaust system creates a partial vacuum to help pull exhaust out of the motor. When you open up the exhaust too much, you can lose that effect. That being said, our Q&A is correct that you MAY lose some low end power if you open things up too much... but since this is only an axle-back kit which deleted the mufflers and widens the exhaust pipes a quarter inch, you won't notice a loss in power. If anything, you'll notice a little more pep from the removal of the mufflers. Hope this helps! -Zach

      There should be no issues when installing an axle-back system like this, short *or* long term. If you were to remove a catalytic converter or install long tube headers without a tune, then you'd see check engine lights. But simply removing mufflers like this will not harm anything. -Zach
