Fishing For Big Kob/Mulloway from Strand Reefs-Finally!

- Hey guys! Hope you had a great week! Wow! What an absolutely awesome fishing experience on the reefs this week!
This season started off with me catching quite a few juvenile kob and all being safely released. (Legal size is 50cm) After about 6 sessions of hitting the reefs, 3-4 hours a session, I finally landed my beautiful size kob. Wow! What a fight! Adrenalin rushing though my veins I fought hard to get this huge beauty by my side. With a couple of battle scars and nearly losing my rod, I eventually won the fight. This specimen has unbelievable power! What a beauty!
Measuring at 105cm, approximately 11kg, this magnificent fighter has fought a great fight and given one fisherman a tale to tell for many years to come!
Combo used was a 12ft Adrenalin Cast xxx rod and Adrenalin Bluesurf 9000 with 6/0 circle hook and 3oz sinker, braid and leader line.
Caught off Strand Reefs, Cape Town, South Africa.

what strenght / thickness of fishingline you think is the absolute minimum ?
Hi, depends where and what you want to target. For kob on the reefs you need +-26kg and a strong leader line. For shoreline +-16kg enough and rocky areas good leader line. 🎣🎣🤙🏻

It also goes by the names kabeljou, dusky/ squaretail kob, dusky salmon, or salmon in South Africa. This specific species is also known as mulloway/jewfish/butterfish in Australia. I don't just have south africans watching my channel so I suppose using these names which it is referred to around the world is not incorrectly used, it just explains the type of specific species.
