🎣 Hi Johan, - you were Blessed with that fishing tackle, Absolutely Awesome! 😊
Your wife was excited for you too when opening them!
The sinkers you found were in their Perfect condition, wasn't necessary to melt them down! ... ...
I had a thick tin bowl with a spout groove on one side, like on your tin. It had a perfect wood handle on it, over a metal thin rod attached to the bowl.
I had a separate lid which fitted over perfectly!
The lead melts quicker with a lid on top of the bowl!
That is what you need! 🙂
Always melt lead in a open or sheltered area, an outside room or garage with open door is suitable, as lead fumes are poisonous to breathe in!
Melting lead on a gas cylinder is better than an open fire as you control the process!
I have also used wheel balancing lead which I picked up and added it to my lead in making sinkers.
Most of my sinkers I made with a spoon mould. I adjusted the height of mould to get different sinker weights!
I would have to weigh them to know how many grams - ounces they are!
    Your 14ft rod is Awesome!
To enjoy using it the most, you will need to learn to cast properly, it's about the casting action! ... 🎣

Hi Michael, thank you for your absolutely beautiful comment. I always enjoy reading them. I actually have a few of the wheel balancing weights but have not melted them down yet. Thanks for the heads up with the lid will try that out. The reason I melted down the sinkers I found is because I prefer using the bottle sinkers and I needed a couple. I'm super excited about my new fishing tackle and it was quite a surprise, yes my wife was just as excited as she new I needed another reel and rod and she said everything will come on its time and also did not expect the surprises to come one after the other. It was amazing to be receiving such awesome gifts from people we do not know. Very special indeed. I will most definitely be using the 14ft rod in future. I have always wanted to have 2 rods in the water, one to play around with and another to let it lay and wait for that big one😁 Thanks for still watching Crazy For Fishing SA and thanks for commenting 🎣🎣🤙🏻

      @@crazyforfishingsa, - Thanks Johan, 🎣
I always make my sliding sinker traces short.
Thank You for explaining about the effect of short sinker traces, I didn't give it much thought! 🙂
You can expect to find a variety of sinkers all over.
An extra rod to cast out can be successful as example if you put on bait for Black and Silver Musselcrackers!
I suggest a 13ft rod for you sometime, than you will have those three length rods. The different lengths all have their uses.
Do you have glass fibre rods? Most of my rods are that! I have a two piece 13ft graphite Loomis & Franklin rod.
My other 11ft to 14ft rods are glass fibre.
I like to bind on extra rings on some of my rods, the line flow is better.
We didn't see any ladies fishing on women's day! ... 😊
      ... next time Johan! ... 🙂
      "Catch a big one!"

Preheat your mould or melts a lot of lead, sacrifice some bad sinkers in the beginning which will heat the mould for you.
By melting a lot of lead, you will make sinkers back to back which will keep the mould hot.

@11:00. The attachments to the rocks are for oceanic studies. The students in the EC often come to the beach to access the conditions of the samples.

Great vedios boet.!Just my 2c,use a mask or balaclava because smoke from lead is harmful. Also just pre heat your mould on the coals that will eliminate the duds.

I only make weed eater sinkers now. They dont get stuck. Also i make them to clip. You can cast better and they dont break off
