It's simple to understand when you stop for a second and actually look at the issues. Once you open your eyes, you'll see that you are wrong about each and every one of them. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. What aBouT tHis oTher tHinG I HeArd? No. If the past is any indication of the future, not only is there no chance that you'll be right, all science suggests that you will never even come close once in your lifetime. The only way you'll ever right is to repeat everything I say, word for word to every single person you know. Until then, you're wrong.
Honestly I thought the same after watching through it again now. I am the kind of person who could enjoy all the movies while still acknowledging what could have gone better and what really doesn't make sense whatsoever. But when I watch this trailer I think: wow every edited shot there just gives hope for so much and brings so much excitement to you. In general I love the: something is being done followed by an immediate emotion as a response (Kylo hitting smth with his lightsaber > Rey crying on the ground)
That's exactly what you're doing by watching this video. Think about it. Somebody recorded this with a smartphone. Mindblowing isn't it? The uploader did the same thing as red beanie guy.
Glad someone recorded the feeling of how it felt to see that trailer for the first time. Didn’t like the new trilogy but I still have amazing memories going to see this movie in college. I’ve never been more excited for a movie in my life. I don’t think any bad Star Wars show or movie can take that away.
"Who are you?" "I am Rey Palpatine, rightful heir to the Galactic Empire, first of her name, ruler of the Galaxy, the last Jedi Knight of the Jedi Order."

ChonkoBonko laughably true lmao What makes you actually think that Rey has character development? Because you said so? Sorry to burst your bubble but the reason the majority of Star Wars fans think that Rey had no character development is because she didn’t have any lmao
I remember watching the trailer, how many hopes I had about this new trilogy: - Would Rey be another reincarnation of the Force like Anakin was? Would Luke train her? - Would Finn be a Jedi? - Would Kylo be a good villain on par with Vader? - Would Snoke be Darth Plagueis? Disney: NOPE.
@@domcusco360 In my opinion it was a cheap copy of Vader that in the end is made good by Disney and the power of the script... But all opinions are valid.

I remember watching this trailer so many times when I was 15, being so hyped for the movie. Everyone at school was hyped for it, especially my theater class which consisted of all of us being huge Star Wars fans. When we weren’t memorizing lines or rehearsing scenes we’d be sharing theories and what we thought was going to happen in the movie. Ah those were the good days.

I love how they all cheer for rey in her mask, when they don't even know who she is yet but when vader's helmet it shown or when Han and Leia show up everyone is just silent. That just pisses me off lol
it is the equivalent of watching a movie, you don't yell and cheer during it - they were cheering because it signified the start of the trailer and everyone was excited to see it
Like what the first guy said, they were cheering because it was the start of the trailer and maybe not for vader and han and leif because they are so shocked
@@jrus690 George Lucas ruined Return of the Jedi because he was busy making Lucasfilm and he hired a hack director who pretty much did not care. Lucas was there basically everyday for Empire Strikes Back and he was an excellent producer. I remember reading that Harrison Ford did not like how few “takes” the director was taking, i.e. he wasn’t satisfied about the acting. Lucas as producer on set is excellent, but as director he’s not.
Back in the day I had high expectations for STAR WARS THE CLONE WARS that was real STAR WARS despite the The Clone Wars film didn't do well in the box office but the tv show it was awesome before it was canceled.
They should’ve made Finn the main character. An ex-Stormtrooper going against the first order and finding out he’s a Jedi would’ve been so much better than what we got.
Rey and Finn should've both been the main characters and both Jedi. Maybe one learns from Luke, one from Yoda, maybe together... but this series was meant to belong to both of them. An ex-Stormtrooper and an abandoned child becoming the last two Jedi....... and they should've been romantically together as well! But no. Rian Johnson turned Finn into a joke and Rey became a cliche that somehow got with the villain of the trilogy. Insane how bad the choices were after TFA, not to mention racist.
There shouldn't be a "First Order". It should've been the Imperial Remnant like in the EU. Killing an emperor doesn't actually destroy an entire empire but Disney doesn't employ a single person with intelligence or common sense.
It fell barely a few steps from the horrible story in this movie. The "Somehow a storm-trooper brainwashed since his youth spontaneously spawning morals, to the magical girl abandoned in her childhood growing up poor and UNEDUCATED that can do everything needed for no reason at all while also knowing everything she needs to know the moment she needs it"...all the way down to Leia hugging Rey instead of Chewbacca when finding out Han died...and dont get me started on a planet sized death star that can shoot a beam that can split into 5 when they need to as they shoot it across the FUCKING GALAXY!...
Its not only the legendary status of the franchise which makes this movie special its more this fanbase, this audience, the excitement and the desire for a sequel to this immortal classic, this atmosphere is what its all about, watch it at least one time in your life between a die hard star wars crowd and you will enjoy it really much
1:26 I don't care that the sequels were trash and had so much wasted potential, this clip right here where the theme plays and we see Kylo and the knights of Ren will never not give me chills
It's almost impressive how badly they messed this up. The degree of difficulty in making this bad is greater than the degree of diffulty in making a good trilogy - yet they managed to somehow pull it off!
The Rise of Skywalker still astounds me to this day. How Disney managed to tick off literally everyone with that movie is genuinely impressive. Original trilogy fans hated it. Prequel fans hated it. The Last Jedi fans hated it, but the Last Jedi dissenters also hated it. People in my family who aren't even Star Wars fans hated it.
Dude it could've been the most legendary trilogy aside from the originals. It was all there, the original actors, the hype, the special effects, this trilogy was literally made for Disney, all they had to do was not be the biggest fcking morons on earth. And somehow, some way, they did worse than fck up... They godam massacred star wars.
I'm not even a sequel hater but this trailer really I think is my favorite single piece of work to come out of the Disney era. If I were to ever make a movie trailer ranking I could see this being a contender for #1.
There are only two things I fault this movie for: 1. Making Luke run away. 2. Regressing Han back to a smuggler. Otherwise, this movie is pretty inoffensive. Although the only characters I really liked from the movie were Finn and Kylo Ren, the other new characters still had a lot of potential.
@@Vikoski10 well yea, it fallowed the same principle of the hero’s journey, it just fell apart cause they never build any substance in the story and character in the later movies

I actually still like TFA to this day. The other two movies ruined the whole trilogy. Mostly RJ's fault but also JJ and Kennedy for letting him go unchecked.
Zach B it’s not. With the emperor being brought back, it just negated the whole “chosen one” theme from the prequels through Episode 6 and cancelled the Anakin Skywalker story of him bringing balance to the force. Hate to say it but Star Wars finished on May, 19th, 2005 (Episode 3).
Josh S it was finished when Disney bought it in 2013. Cause don’t forget the clone wars, the force unleashed games, battlefront games that weren’t 70% stupid ass microtransactions
@@ms.muffin7592 Well, they could also tried to make the films.... good. I'm not a hardcore fan or difficult to please. What happend to half decent writing?
Marlon hell no. That was a horrible way to end Leia, and how do you kiss a skywalker descendant, and then name yourself skywalker. And it deadass looks like there are no consequences in using the force when giving life force or taking it away. As a movie in general it’s average, but as a Star Wars movie it’s horrible
They had the potential to do something incredible..... and they squandered it. I remembered watching this trailer, thinking how awesome it would be to actually watch a Star Wars movie in cinema. And while I did like it then, looking back now I wish they’d done things differently.
+J MacMingus inaccurate. Quoting from wikipedia: Star Wars creator George Lucas served only as creative consultant during the film's early production stages. As creative consultant on the film, Lucas' involvement included attending early story meetings; according to Lucas, "I mostly say, 'You can't do this. You can do that.' You know, 'The cars don't have wheels. They fly with antigravity.' There's a million little pieces... I know all that stuff."[32] Lucas' son Jett told The Guardian that his father was "very torn" about having sold the rights to the franchise, despite having hand-picked Abrams to direct, and that his father was "there to guide" but that "he wants to let it go and become its new generation."[46] Among the materials Lucas turned over to the production team were his rough story treatments for Episodes VII-IX ; in January 2015, Lucas stated that Disney had discarded his story ideas[47][48] and that he had had no further involvement with the film.[49]
***** it's inaccurate because despite having very little "control" over anything, he was involved to some extent - regardless of how small his involvement may have been.
Yeah TFA was probably the best sequel film but TLJ was also good at a certain part especially when kylo and rey fight the snoke guard and when that one women ( i forgot her name ) used hyper space to destroy snoke ship..TROS was not bad too but when rey said she is a skywalker thats fucked up lol
@@Hafieyplays also how the heck did palpatine come back to life out of nowhere and rey literally killed the strongest sith lord to ever exist with two lightsabers even yoda couldn't defeat him. The force awakens was a pretty decent movie (still not that great) but it wasn't all that bad. Only thing that sucked in TFA was the fact that rey wasn't trained at all and she suddenly defeated a guy who's trained for 10 years by Luke and snoke.
@FoxRNG Because obi wan in his full anger and rage was able to compete with Maul. But even then Maul pretty much defeated him. But Maul didn't expect him to jump up and slice him off which is how obi wan won. Don't ask me that but all I know was anakin was really good at tech. Luke is the son of Anakin which makes him very strong with the force even without much training by obi wan. And if han wasn't there he wouldn't have blown up the death star. Yoda trained him. He was the son of the chosen one and got some training by both yoda and obi wan. And in my opinion luke could have been EVEN MORE powerful than Anakin if he got training from birth
@FoxRNG okay fine I'll agree with you there, I don't like the sequels because they ruined the story of Skywalker and his name wasn't mentioned a single time in the sequels. And the sequels felt so predictable to me. In the prequels not many people would've expected obi wan to burn Skywalker, and palpatine to lose against windu, and yoda failing to kill palpatine and luke somehow surviving even after Vader cut his arm. The prequels are just much more exciting to watch compared to the sequels that's so predictable

Here's why: To start, you're completely missing the point and everything you think is actually at odds with reality when you look at the data. In fact, you're nowhere close to being accurate. It's simple to understand when you stop for a second and actually look at the issues. Once you open your eyes, you'll see that you are wrong about each and every one of them. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. What aBouT tHis oTher tHinG I HeArd? This trailer was better than all 3 films. Whoever edited it together deserves an award, seriously.

The sequels aren't as bad as people make them seem honestly. Although i still prefer the prequels by far, I personally love the sequels. First ones I was old enough to experience in a theater! I don't get all the hate
To be fair Rouge one was solid and andor was pretty good too, although the sequels would go on to terrible so that might be a moot point
Yes, we were very naïve.

They should’ve made Finn the main character. An ex-Stormtrooper going against the first order and finding out he’s a Jedi would’ve been so much better than what we got.
true
Migs Mayfeld was an example of what Finn should’ve been
Rey and Finn should've both been the main characters and both Jedi.

+Ransom Hades Yeah dude Jar Jar looks great. And that one guy with the spikes looks awesome. George Lucas can do no wrong.
+J MacMingus inaccurate. Quoting from wikipedia:
Star Wars creator George Lucas served only as creative consultant during the film's early production stages.

@FoxRNG well, most people like the prequels even I like it better. But I guess we have seperate opinions so no use arguing...
