I watch this video once a week now. I started paragliding because of it, and i cant wait to be good enough to do the kind of stuff we see in this video!
Some of the things he does seems particularly unsafe. Touching the top of the trees in a forest with your legs is NOT a good idea. Same with him playing with the telephone/electric cables at the end. I guess he knows what he does, but having lost a few people in freak accidents tells me than risking you life for a good shot is not a good idea. Seriously, I doubt people who have never flew a paraglider understand the skill required for those stunts. Fly safe. My most dreamy flights were peaceful ones, colored sunset with an eagle flying right next to me, far above the cliff and the mountain. No stress, not a trace of danger, pure pleasure. I hate when I have to fight for every meter and graze the mountain just to not have to walk back up on feet.
We live in a tiny point of the whole timeline of human existence, where we as species are not only able to prolong our lifespan in order to experience more, but we have arrived at the technological peak of craftsmanship, where where we can now to sit on a chair, hanging on a piece of fabric and by acknowledging the laws of thermodynamics , FLY.. and it's so portable that you can put it in your back pack...
Great video! Those with chasecam are usually the best. And yes, addiction... I do not have the physical condition to learn flying myself. But when I started flying tandem I could hardly stop, flew many times. Such videos for me are really heart-opening.
Man! I watched this video for the 1st time like a year ago, now that I rewatch this I can assure you it has inspired me to pursue my dream to become a paragliding pilot soon! I hope that in 1 year ahead I come back to update my comment confirming my achievement! Thanks! :)
From my current 10 years of relatively intensive flying experience without any (major or permanent) injuries and a steadily decreasing error rate (now only around 1%, down from 5-6% shortly after obtaining my license), the following are important: a) sufficient physical fitness with the ability to run at least 20 km/h and, under certain circumstances, to be able to roll down the grassy slope at this speed without injuring yourself. b) the ability to fully analyse dangerous situations, including their unpleasant aspects (your own weaknesses/mistakes, serious accidents, etc.). c) the ability to fully prepare for a flight. d) the ability not to allow yourself to be distracted during the flight and to constantly observe the flight conditions and possible other risks, as well as the behaviour of other pilots. e) in an emergency, do not give in to shock, but fight for your life with determination and cool-headedness. - Focusing only on the beautiful moments shown ignores the large amount of training required beforehand, the time it takes (hardly any other hobbies possible, and frequent coordination problems with the family) and therefore the money it takes. - Bear in mind that experience has shown that a certain level of safety is only achieved after training has flown around 30 hours of airtime or around 120 flights in total, or at least around 5 hours/year in > around 20-30 flights/year. - Flying is very beautiful and a new dimension in life, but it demands a lot. And if you do not meet these requirements, or only partially meet them, there is a considerable risk, or far fewer (harmless) conditions in which you can fly, with the consequence that your skills continue to decline and the risk of accidents increases. - This is the side of the coin not mentioned in the video! Many warm greetings from Jörg from Heidenau in Saxony near Dresden.
After watching this video I would seriously start paragliding if I hadn`t started hanggliding already (and HG it's probably the best feeling of all flight-tec of our time and the closest to flying like a bird!) 😉 [great footage btw!]
This is some of the most beautiful flying videos I have ever seen. Sharing that you’re scared of heights but always end up flying is both inspiring and relatable. I learned to rock climb to manage my fear of heights. I’m still afraid but I love it so much I could never stop. And you just inspired me to learn paragliding!!! Thank you!
I just came back from my 3rd and 4th paragliding training weeks with 17 flights/week (Bassano del Grappa). I never thought i'd find a sport i could get so addicted to! Had my first thermal flights (up to 2,5h) and perfected front and back take-off. I have such a hard time being back home i'm afraid i'm super addicted! Next on the planning is a SIV training but the next one is in April next year :(
Wohoo that’s so great to hear!! Glad to hear that you’re having fun flying around 🤩 sure this is super addictive thing ahaha :)) once you’re in you can’t get out 😂 Lets goooo!!!
