    While we wait for our coil overs to come in so we can finish the push rod suspension on our EV Tesla Swapped C10, we're turning our focus back over to one of our other square bodies. The last time you saw this lifted Chevy K10, Andrew was rebuilding our junkyard motor, installing a ton of new parts from Texas speed and getting our 6.0 LS ready to drop into our 4WD squarebody! There are a couple more things we have to do before we can hoist this engine into the truck though. Mike is spraying down the block with a coat of black paint to make our ICT Billet accessory mounts really pop off the engine, Khalel is bolting our transfer case onto our 4L80 transmission, and we're wiring up our ECU and new digital dashboard. With all that completed though, we're able to lift up our junkyard 6.0 and get it fitting snugly inside the engine bay of our K10. With all of the wiring and prep done before the LS install, we're able to terminate a few connection, hook up our battery and give this 6.0 some fuel for its first start up! What do we have up next for this off road squarebody? We have a full interior coming from TMI, custom driveshafts, and a whole lot more! Make sure to subscribe so you don't miss any K10 updates, or any of our other projects; like our twin turbo LSX Chevelle, our twin Tesla swapped C10, our our bagged patina squarebody!

      Thanks so much! We'd love to make some longer videos, but it's all just a matter of what we can get accomplished by the time a new video needs to go out. The last thing we want to do is stuff in an extra 2 minutes of wiring time lapses or useless/redundant explanations just for the sake of making a longer video. That wouldn't be fair or beneficial to you guys! As we grow, hopefully we'll be able to make some longer videos for y'all! We'd love if you shared our channel with your friends or family, and if you like the stuff we're wearing in an episode, the merch that we sell in our store helps support the media creation. Planning this exact build in my set up. Curious, which engine mounts did you use? It seems like you have a ton of room up front. I know there are mounts that move it about 3" forward and up so you don't have to notch the frame or firewall

    well its probably to late for you to know this, and it wont be the most pretty thing and i know you guys are more professional than I am. But I got the computer mounted behind the ashtray self tapped into the Y for the heat and ac. I also got the ls fuse box mounted behind the glovebox but i had to cut up the fuse box. Cause im just trying to have a ls swap square so I did it the most simple way which i found to just use both fuse boxes for the original truck and the Ls. Fires up just fine, i just need trans lines so i can actually fire it and let it idle for a bit.

    • @SalvagetoSavage
      @SalvagetoSavage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it works it works! We're still running AC in the car so we didn't want to try to stuff everything in the dash then find out we screwed ourselves over when it came time to do the AC system. When you get that thing idling, take a video on IG and tag us in it! We'd love to see your project!

    I love the idea of this LS swap, something I would have loved to do with my dads truck. Just curious everything looks so good why didn’t you give the engine bay a refresh cleaning and quick spray to really show off the new LS. Trying not to be critical but it seems like a small job with engine out even if done with a shaker can.

    • @SalvagetoSavage
      @SalvagetoSavage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The engine bay was pretty clean to start with. There were no really noticeable torn up parts or rust spots. Sometimes if you try to spray over the little things, they tend to stand out more because the paint won't match up correctly. The entire bay didn't warrant a respray, so we figured it was best to leave it how it was!

  • @shadetreemetalworks
    @shadetreemetalworks 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    With a fresh hone I don't see why the rings wouldn't seat, although it is a little unorthodox to reuse them. Given good bores, it should be good as new. I would have also put in ARP rod bolts, but then you'd need to rebalance the rotating assembly. So I get it. Looks like a great build with realistic goals and a reasonable budget. PS: I would have moved earth itself to make those valve covers fit, they looked great.

    • @SalvagetoSavage
      @SalvagetoSavage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We were very much on the fence about whether or not to cut into that cover to make it fit. Andrew decided it was better to just find another route since the cover had such a nice crinkle black powder coat on it. It would have been way too hard to match up.

    • @SalvagetoSavage
      @SalvagetoSavage  ปีที่แล้ว

      It really depends on where you pull your parts from. A running junkyard LS could be pretty cheap if you have a pick and pull near by, but you might run into issues not having everything you need for it to run (wiring harnesses, sensors, etc). Full drop in set ups are available online. They can be a bit pricier, but you at least know you're getting a good motor with everything that it needs to run in some cases. The rest comes down to labor and whether or not you're doing it all yourself.

    • @tcwaite88
      @tcwaite88 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They didn't. I'm trying to figure that out now. It doesn't shift correctly. There's a Dakota digital sen-01-128 they used on the np208 but after speaking to Dakota digital, these are not designed for ECU feedback. I'm learning the only proper way to do it is with a 40 tooth reluctor ring somewhere in the transmission. I have to inspect it this weekend by removing the rear dummy plug in the 4l80e and seeing if there's a reluctor inside but if it's a transmission from after '97 there isn't one.

    What did you do for a return fuel line? I saw only a feed and vent from the fuel hat?
    No knock sensors, or did you mount them on the side of the block?

      @ariv33 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We are using a 1997-2004 corvette fuel filter which is self regulating to 58psi. It has the standard inlet and outlet with an additional 3rd port which is the return. It is Mounted 2 feet from the tank. And yes knock sensors are mounted low on the side of the block.

      1987 was the first year of factory Throttle Body Injection factory fuel fuel injection aka TBI and the last year of the square body Chevy GMC in the 1/2 ton series while 87 shared the same beds doors hoods and fenders along with interior the factory fuel injection is why they were designated R/V Series 87-91 is the R/V series just look at the 5th digit in the vin as I stated even go look in an LMC catalog for the breakdown of the vin 1987-91 is R for 2wd and V for 4wd
