Alexander Lmao, I had this duel with this Maul the other day while I was playing as Yoda and we tied once or twice. Neither of us were making it easy for each other lol. He finally beat me when he pushed me off the map in the last round XD

Tips for the assault class: When using the El-16-HFE instead of holding down the trigger, tap the trigger almost like using a dmr. This changes the recoil pattern and will almost entirely terminate kick.
yeah it’s like an immediate 2-shot kill to the head if the shots are timed right too. EL-16-HFE was one of my least favorites due to the Fire rate, and SFX, but this has changed my view of the weapon. Not the SFX, it still sounds like one of the weakest blasters, but ironically it hits the hardest. A280 is good for body shots, but the EL-16 is the best assault weapon when it comes to to Head shots.
I didn't realize how devastating dodging could be. I typically used it to gain distance when I need to cooldown or regen some health. I never used it offensively like that before.
@@epic9256 I use Defense+Dodge in attacks i try to get either in their back or use push ability to knock my enemy from direction where my enemy can't block it, i kinda like how open this game is for different player types. Remember some people are good at being Aggressive, Passive or Defensive. It depends on situation tho
Epic I try to space out my abilities, actually. I don’t like to use them together because I know that’ll leave me defenseless when I need it most. I usually keep my stun until for when I’m being pushed to relieve some pressure.

So many options, since you know, this is one of the biggest, most influential, and loved franchises on earth. Buts its EA, so we'll probably get another skin

So I remember I was playing a duel as Yoda and my partner was eliminated and so was the enemy’s. The enemy was like the worst kind of Boba Fett, That kind that just sits on the high ground where you can’t reach. So I caught onto his crappy tactic. Basically he would use a couple ability’s and then once you had low health and he saw you running away he would chase you down with his JetPack. So after almost getting killed by this twice I caught on. So I went to confront him and then after he shot me a couple times doing minimal damage I ran and heard his JetPack. So I knew he was coming and hid behind a crate he landed and I flew out at him using his rush attack and popped his regen. So he took a hefty chunk of damage. Seeing this he tried to regain his high ground and I force pushed him into a wall knocking him outta the game. Finishing possibly the most annoying duel possible. If your a lightsaber hero trying to take out a annoying Boba, try using tricks.
Another tip is defensive play is safer on even terrain. Uneven terrain will sometimes put your character in a falling state which interrupts your block, which is why you'll see some people talk about how blocking doesn't work. Even as much as walking over a small branch on the ground that has collision with the character could ruin your defensive play
Or literally catch you up when you you're expecting the hero to just step over it, but the game requires you to jump. Had this happen with a pipe on the ground indoors that couldn't have been more than 6 inches high...
I learned everything! Thank you so much! I went from 20-40 kills in arcade to more than 160! And on the battles with actual people i went from one or two kills to 6/7! It was absolutely fantastic advice!

I like this community sometimes, a 300-310 level obiwan was impressed with me for being low level and being able to hold my own with grevious. Things like this really keep me motivated to improve.
From the bad rep the game got at launch I could not possibly imagine such in-depth strategies. This video helped me immensely, even though I was already having fun with the button smashing. I can't wait to put these tips to practice. Thank you very much!

Despite that I've become a great duelist in HvV and Hero Showdown I still struggle getting Hero killstreaks on GA and CS. Could you make a video about this?
The trick is to always be on the defensive. You should always regain any health lost after every enemy’s killed. Don’t be caught alone, stick with at least a few teammates to get away safety if you’re attacked by multiple enemies. The other main thing is to know when to back away so you don’t lose too much health or die, and never camp in the same area so the enemy team won’t expect your locations.
I didn't know that I was parrying the whole time I was blocking while while also press/holding the attack button. That was a great tip I'll use in hero's showdown 👍
I've never played this game but I got fascinated by it and I'm binge watching guides now. I guess It's an RuneScape player's habit, being addicted to learning the theory of the game
You know what’s even better? Real melee combat mechanics like fallen order type stuff. If only the heroes and villains controlled like that... they’d be very OP though, with the parrying mechanic and stuff
The problem is that it seems to incorporate Souls combat(bear with me I'll explain) without adding a counter to blocking. So , you have basic attacks, dodges, stamina system that judges every action, deflects(parries if you may), powerful attacks on the back. The important part is that similar to the older souls game, you are encouraged to not attack from the front but from the sides or the back and constantly dodging instead of blocking. The problem is that there is no guard break for blocks so opponent constantly block, the parrying means counter attacks so people are less likely to attack and dodges are not punishing enough so people chose to dodge a lot and it doesn't help that this game is fast paced. It almost feels like the devs forgot they were improving lightsaber duels and instead changed it to be a mix of sword fighting and Sekiro.... in a game which its foundations are far from souls games.
Don't you love it when: - Your hero's abilities don't cancel the other hero's ability, but his cancel yours no problem? - The oponent gets hit by the ability, visibly and with damage to their HP, but is not at all affected by it... - A hero randomly one-hit kills you with a single lightsaber hit and wiuth your HP full (pretty sure that's a glitch). - Block lags and attacks somehow go through OR alternatively someone blocks attacks FROM BEHIND THEM, cause it still registers them blocking for some reason. - Some people manage to get up abnormally fast and or even use abilities while still laying down. HvV is still garbage...

I used dooku's lightning shit on 3 enemies who were spamming on me and it didn't do shit. Died in .001 seconds. This game is glitchy as hell sometimes.
dooood thought i was the only one having bad experiences like this its so annoying and i feel like it has something to do with the damage and ability delay they implemented for heroes with lightsabers after the beta
If parry is a glitch I'm glad they left it in because it just adds a really cool dynamic to duels that I feel is necessary and make sense having a way to counter attack.
I wished Dice would add a different Sensitivity option for both Blasters, and Jedi Heroes. I liked to play with 5%-20% Sensitivity for certain classes/reinforcements/blaster heroes, And then 100% for Jedi Heroes
Zorastorm 32 Agreed so annoying to switch. I’ve been trying to git gud with 100% sens on blasters haha It’s tricky. I usually have to drop to 80% or so
another really good ability is yodas dash attack, it doesnt matter if there any character is blocking this will always go threw, so its really useful in duels

I've always been horrible at using heroes especially against infantry but back when I played this game in 2018 I would kick ass against high skilled hero players with little tactics, I'm glad to see this game has changed.

I’m always either going for 1v1s or 2v1s, I’ll frequently throw my partner under the bus for the sake of capturing the gameplay 😂 I always play with randoms and I just don’t expect them to understand duels. Is anyone else having issues with HvV? I've been experiencing an insane amount of lag and rubberbanding. I've tested my internet connection and I'm good. But my god people are doing damage and killing me when they shouldn't be.
I’m a new player and this has definitely helped. I’m pretty good with movement and timing as far as attacking, but spamming Luke’s destroy me. I’ll have to work on parrying and dodging behind them more. Thanks man. Btw, I’ve caught on to the guys who like to duel 1v1 in HvV. I like facing them as they’re helping to make me a better player. I could care less for the 4v1 gankfest. Thanks man.
For Honor is so much harder when it comes to duels. I find it funny when people brag about their dueling skills in Battlefront 2, such easy mechanics to master

Paul Mojecki Yeah and the heroes are not that different from each other. I always laugh when people say that Anakin, for example, is their „main”. Like, come on, almost every lightsaber hero plays the same here - dash behind the opponent’s back and strike. Games like for honor are much more complex but also more frustrating because they have that competitive feel

Tip: increase your sensitivity by 5 or 10 every 2-4 games

Parrying and the stun lock fix saved the lightsaber combat for the game tbh. The lightsaber spamming peons ruled the game for a long time.
Agreed 100%. Rubberbanding still happens with bad connection sometimes but on the whole, the combat has been great ever since a few months ago
The hitboxes are still wank, just play Jedi Academy or The classic Revenge of the Sith game for good lightsaber saber duels

You know what’s even better? Real melee combat mechanics like fallen order type stuff. If only the heroes and villains controlled like that... they’d be very OP though, with the parrying mechanic and stuff

To help with the combat give all saber heroes and Phasma's 3rd strike a block breaker, like Anakin's passionate strike when it first came out.

I just bought battlefront 2 a couple days ago! Been watching your guides every since, didn't know that the game was so intricate! Great vid!
The problem is that it seems to incorporate Souls combat(bear with me I'll explain) without adding a counter to blocking.
So , you have basic attacks, dodges, stamina system that judges every action, deflects(parries if you may), powerful attacks on the back.
The important part is that similar to the older souls game, you are encouraged to not attack from the front but from the sides or the back and constantly dodging instead of blocking.
The problem is that there is no guard break for blocks so opponent constantly block, the parrying means counter attacks so people are less likely to attack and dodges are not punishing enough so people chose to dodge a lot and it doesn't help that this game is fast paced.
It almost feels like the devs forgot they were improving lightsaber duels and instead changed it to be a mix of sword fighting and Sekiro.... in a game which its foundations are far from souls games.
True, but you forgot the stamina factor. If you constantly block then you run out of stam and cannot counter attack.

Don't you love it when:
- Your hero's abilities don't cancel the other hero's ability, but his cancel yours no problem?
- The oponent gets hit by the ability, visibly and with damage to their HP, but is not at all affected by it...
- A hero randomly one-hit kills you with a single lightsaber hit and wiuth your HP full (pretty sure that's a glitch).
- Block lags and attacks somehow go through OR alternatively someone blocks attacks FROM BEHIND THEM, cause it still registers them blocking for some reason.
- Some people manage to get up abnormally fast and or even use abilities while still laying down.
HvV is still garbage...

I used dooku's lightning shit on 3 enemies who were spamming on me and it didn't do shit. Died in .001 seconds. This game is glitchy as hell sometimes.

You forgot something, never have the low ground. I speak from experience.
If parry is a glitch I'm glad they left it in because it just adds a really cool dynamic to duels that I feel is necessary and make sense having a way to counter attack.
I wished Dice would add a different Sensitivity option for both Blasters, and Jedi Heroes.
I liked to play with 5%-20% Sensitivity for certain classes/reinforcements/blaster heroes,
And then 100% for Jedi Heroes

another really good ability is yodas dash attack, it doesnt matter if there any character is blocking this will always go threw, so its really useful in duels
Dooku is the best duelist, have won multiple 2v1s and some 3v1s

I've always been horrible at using heroes especially against infantry but back when I played this game in 2018 I would kick ass against high skilled hero players with little tactics, I'm glad to see this game has changed.

Not gonna lie it was annoying to play with you in 2v2’s, you seem to just stand around and watch, let your partner take on both opponents, then try and be a hero.

I’m always either going for 1v1s or 2v1s, I’ll frequently throw my partner under the bus for the sake of capturing the gameplay 😂 I always play with randoms and I just don’t expect them to understand duels. Is anyone else having issues with HvV? I've been experiencing an insane amount of lag and rubberbanding. I've tested my internet connection and I'm good. But my god people are doing damage and killing me when they shouldn't be.

I’m a new player and this has definitely helped. I’m pretty good with movement and timing as far as attacking, but spamming Luke’s destroy me. I’ll have to work on parrying and dodging behind them more. Thanks man.
Btw, I’ve caught on to the guys who like to duel 1v1 in HvV. I like facing them as they’re helping to make me a better player. I could care less for the 4v1 gankfest.

If you played for honer then forget about that game don't use anything you learned from for honer in this game your just asking to get wrecked
For Honor is so much harder when it comes to duels. I find it funny when people brag about their dueling skills in Battlefront 2, such easy mechanics to master

Paul Mojecki Yeah and the heroes are not that different from each other. I always laugh when people say that Anakin, for example, is their „main”. Like, come on, almost every lightsaber hero plays the same here - dash behind the opponent’s back and strike. Games like for honor are much more complex but also more frustrating because they have that competitive feel
