I have never made any doll house food before, this video is so inspiring Gretchen, all the fruit turned out beautifully, I would say it “looks good enough to eat”, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
Thank you Julie! Go ahead and give it a try! It is such a satisfying project!! Food brings alot of life to a scene or dollhouse! I hope make some soon! Let me know!!
There you go again being all clever and inspiring! The fruit looks delicious, I bet the dolls can't wait to eat them. I can 100% relate to the tired hands after kneading the clay, I made some polymer clay versions of my daughters favourite stuffed toys as part of her Christmas present. It took me 4 hours to do and my hands felt like they were crippled by it for the rest of the night. That clay sure takes some working out. Lucky we don't develop tiny finger biceps from it hahaha
Thank you Nessie! I may not have biceps in my fingers but they are definitely bigger than they used to be! that's why i am always putting nails on trying to make my hands look dainty instead of like my DADDY'S hands!!!LOLOLOLOL!!
LOLOLOOLL!! THANK YOU MARIA!! I'm trying to improve. My Daddy always told me to slow down, i see now that slowing down helps! I appreciate you for being here!!
So nice of you to say thank you! It is actually kind of relaxing! I think next time i'm going to get my grandsons,( 7 and 4 ) to do it to keep them busy!! Thank you for watching!!
Fruit sounds like a healthy Christmas tradition. 😊 You did a great job making it look realistic! Snakes are an important part of our ecosystem and control many pests. I love the king snake that moved into our shed and got rid of the mice. ❤ However, we don't all have to love the same things. It's fine to avoid them, but please don't hurt them!
YES FRESH FRUIT was Always a part of CHRISTMAS for me as a Child! LOLOLOLOL! Re: Snakes, i really don't have a problem with snakes per se. But calling clay rolls "snakes" is weird to me so I call them "skinnies".
Your fruits turned out wonderful. They look so real. You are very talented, with everything that you do. Practice makes perfect, I guess. Beautiful, realistic looking, fruit dishes.🎅🏼🎄☃️
Thanks so much 😊! Yes practice does make perfect! The more you do it the better you get! i have plenty of room for improvement but it's always FUN! such a quick Fun project immediate satisfaction!
Gretchen, I am OBSESSED with mini fruits and veggies😂 Yours are GORGEOUS! I already know this will be one of my multiple rewatch videos. You didn't say much about your pears but they are absolutely beautiful. 🍐 This is just the inspiration I need to embark on a polymer clay project- something I've yet to try. The perfection of natural things lies in their imperfections! (that includes us humans too, I suppose🤣). I am in love with your tomatoes! 🍅🍅🍅👏👏👏🥰✨
LOLOLOLOL! I'm glad you like them! i definitely need to do alot more because i have to stock the Dress shop dollhouse kitchen soon. Yes just try a few simple items and build your way up! Don't forget to have FUN!!
Thank you Elizabeth please do it is so much FUN!!! Do one type if item at a time. But you can bake them all at once. I usually will work on items for a couple days before i bake. Fill the Tray!!! thank you for watching!
My mom always put apples, oranges and walnuts in my stocking at Christmas, thanks for bringing back warm memories. The fruit looks good enough to eat! I'm at my moms now, visiting for a few weeks for the holidays. I'm sure when i get back home I'll be pulling out my polymer clay to try out some fruit. Especially love the tips on shading with chalk pastels, and I have plenty of that floral wire--now why didn't i think of using that for stems, what a great idea! So thanks again and Merry Christmas!😊
YES! FRESH FRUIT FOR CHRISTMAS WAS A MUST! Enjoy your Holiday visiting with your Mom! I'm so glad to hear you are going to make some! Thank you for watching!!
Oh Gretchen your fruit is so amazing. I never made any fruit before. But you sure inspired me to try it. So for that i Thank you. May you have a Blessed day tomorrow and stay safe my dear and Special Friend. May you have a Blessed Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year my dear friend. ❤❤❤
Your fruit looks great Gretchen. I can't afford to buy all the colors of clay. I have white, yellow & brown. I just made my fruit out of off white and I painted them with acrylic paint after they were cooled completely. (Paints I've had for 40 years). LOL.
THAT'S Wonderful! I love it! The chalk pastels I used I have had since high school!!! LOLOLOLOL!!! I'm Glad not having all the colors, didn't let that stop you! l made air dry food for years and painted it with acrylic paint. Also in the 70's I used to make bread dough clay to make my dollhouse food. Nobody talks about bread dough clay anymore. Thank you for sharing and for watching!
Your fruit bowls turned out really great. I just love the tomatoes, my favorite fruit...and you got me thinking about fried green tomatoes! I think that's just a southern thing though. All the little 'imperfections' make the fruit look so realistic. I don't trust fruit that looks too perfect, I mean, what did they do to it? I wish you a wonderful Holiday Season and extend those wishes to all the other Dolls out there! xx
Thank you Cassandra! Yes I LOVE Fried Green tomatoes ! i had some a couple weeks ago! I love making food it adds so much to the scene! If it's to perfect it looks GMO!LOLOLOLOL!! MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIEND!!!
Hello Gretchen, Thank you for showing us how you made all the fruit, the Christmas table settings are going to look amazing, I'm looking forward to seeing the dolls house all decked out for Christmas. Wishing you and your family a Very Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for the New Year from Yorkshire, England 🇬🇧😊
So cute! I haven’t used polymer clay because the oven part makes me nervous on whether it’s going to smell lol! I’ve used an air dry paper clay but now I have 1/2 a block that I can’t mold even though I can use it for a landscape.
NO Worries Dawn on the smell it is very light. Not strong at all. Just make sure you are not using your Actual FOOD pans. And don't cook food with the clay . But as far as smell, by the time you remove it form the oven and it cools within 5 minutes there is no smell. Go ahead an have fun with it! Polymer clay changed my life!!!
They start out like shapeless lumps and next thing you know they’re absolutely believable fruit! Also I always giggle when you say pre K. Like. It’s not even K! It’s pre that!
I just Love the creative process... to watch nothing turn into something!! I KNOW RIGHT!!! Yea some of those stages look like something from nursery school!!!! LOLOLOLOLOL!!!
1:20 love your videos. On your video where you are dressing a bed without any sewing, where did you find that tiny electric iron for use on your fabric? I would love to buy one. Thanks!
I really do like the color and finished look of polymer clay food so much better. As a child all i had was the gray air dry clay I got from my elementary school art teacher. LOLOLOLL!!!
@jackiewaters7759, Yes, TheJemmaGrl is Right! You have to bake it in you home OVEN for it to harden. No Kiln required. But make sure you follow the instructions for whatever brand you purchase. It is very convenient because you never have to worry about it drying out!
I’m so grateful for your videos and your inspiration.
I appreciate that Connie! Thank you!!
So mouth watering good, u always impress me
LOLOLOLOL!! Thank you Alma !!!😋
Thank you for another great video. Have a wonderful and blessed Christmas!!! 🎄
Thank you! WONDERFUL HAPPY MERRY BLESSED CHRISTMAS to You too!

Great fruit! I haven't made much food but you make me think I can do it with lots of patience and practice.....
Start with something simple like oranges! Or bananas! Look at some pictures for inspiration. Just have FUN AND PLAY! See what you can come up with!
Wonderful! The shading really added even more realism! Thank you for another splendid video! Merry Christmas to you and yours! Hugs, Kathleen

Hey Theresa! That's a clover iron. Usually popular among quilters. Use my link in my description for it! Thank you!
Do u have to bake the clay
Yes - you have to bake polymer clay. There are clays that are air dry - but they honestly never look as real as the polymer clay.
THANK YOU @TheJemmaGrl!
