I made this mistake when I had passion twists. When I took them down, there was so much hair that I almost cried. I'll never forget that, I was so hurt. I'm on a growth journey so setbacks hit different. I didn't realize it was because I kept the passion twists for weeks and that was shed hair buildup. I thought maybe my hair just couldn't handle the weight of braids or maybe I caused too much tension at the root with the rubber bands, but I never considered that it was excessive shed hair buildup. Thank you.
You are very welcome! I tend to wash my hair about once per week when I wait a few weeks, it looks like it so much more hair, but its not. Now you do have to be careful when you keep in styles like braids, because you also have to make sure you properly hydrate your hair, or spray moisturizer to your hair, so that it doesn't get too dry and break off.
@@KarenofCurlHouse ok, I’m looking forward to learning from it! I’ve only been natural for 1yr so your videos are Very HELPFUL! Keep doing what you do! Thanks again!
When Menopause hit me, my hair appeared to thin out. I was wearing my hair natural at the time. I had Covid in 2020 and that thinned my hair. I do not know what to do now, go natural or what.
Hi Vee! So sorry to hear about your hair loss. I encourage women to stop relaxing if you are experiencing hair loss, to minimize chemicals on the scalp. Secondly, check both your zinc and iron levels. Also, menopausal hair loss has everything to do with changes in estrogen and progesterone levels, so eating phytoestrogen rich foods may help such as soybeans, tufu, chickpeas, apricots, etc (google them). You also want to make sure your diet is full of foods (whole fruits, veggies, grains, etc). that provide adequate nutrition to feed both your body and your follicles. Are you using anything topically to stimulate growth?
Hello there! Short hair in the crown can signal a number of possible things. 1. Unmanaged stress 2. Fungus (is there any itching?) 3. Early signs of a future hair loss disorder. Are you experiencing any itching, tenderness, or unmanaged stress? Also, I have a virtual hair growth program launching in a few months. You can join my waitlist to stay abreast and get more information. Here's the link: mailchi.mp/341fe6320a7b/health-hairness-program
How many inches per strand before it shed? and what part of the scalp is most likely affected? And how many months before it shed? And what are the symptoms textures comparison between shedding and hairloss? Please i need an answer because i have experiencing i don't know what it is between these two
I guess my hair has been shedding for 3 months and that’s how long I had my cornrows in soo when I took them out the end of my braid just came off, and i wanted to cry soo bad. But good thing I took them out because I would’ve been balled
Hey there! Yes -- I think bleached hair has a tendency to shed more after a protective style because it doesn't get proper hydration and moisture while in a protective style. Make sure you followup with a protein treatment after removing protective style as well.
Question I need you to answer: Why does my hair not have a white bulb even though it’s natural shedding? Explanation: Some of my hair follicles that I believe is shedding (due to some feeling of the hair strand coming out of the scalp) does not have a white bulb like you showed in this video. My hair is mostly wavy but not excessively (idk hair type names). I might have a different type of shedding than you or other people with your hair type so please, tell me if this is normal not to get a white bulb.

I have very short hair in the middle of my head. Looks like it has been cut to a half inch.

Hey one quick question, what if my hair doesn’t have a white bulb at the end.
Then it's breakage

What about bleached natural hair? Is it suppose to shed a lot more than normal after a protective style?

My 2 week hair shed looks like your 4 week hair shed 😑
Remember everyone’s “normal” is different … but if it’s abnormal hair shed then you certainly need to address that

As long as the strands are long it's natural. Mines shed that way with no bulb at the end
I lose ur month in one week
Is that excessive for you?
