Good job man, I'm thinking about getting a cbr600rr but it's hard to find it with gold forks so I'm planning to wrap them. Even tho you went from gold to black instead of black to gold this video just convinced me to wrap instead of powercoat the forks!
Thanks! Yea I definitely say go for it! way easier than I thought it was. (if you cut them into sections it helps). Plus it only cost me like 15 bucks shipped for the material and changes the front end big time.
Thanks! I didn't really double layer it, I cut it into sections with a slight overlap to hide the lines. It made wrapping the forks a lot easier since the lower portion of the forks have a odd shape.
I used them to make sure the vinyl went up to the seal and you didn’t see any gold. Made the big section easier to apply and not have to worry about making the edge. Just so your not fighting with the big piece really.
I don’t get why you didn’t prep it with alcohol and why you didn’t just form the wrap to the whole fork as one piece in a section. Would look way cleaner and use tri-line tape to do a perfect seam. My first time I did a Harley touring. Whole bike and came out tits after destroying $100 in material lol also edge seal works good for protection against lifting being outside and between washes. Last longer that way. .....all being said if you don’t care they hey I don’t. Just two cents 🍺
The bike had like 60 miles on it, no need for alcohol lol. I did this method cause I didn’t really want to fight with the vinyl. Took maybe 3 min a side. You stand a foot back, you see no lines. Looks pretty clean to me 🤔. The tape is nice but when it costs just as much as a couple feet of 3m vinyl, I’ll stick with this.
Its funny, i want to turn my black forks into gold. And other people have gold forks and want them black 😂 thanks for the tutorial!
I did both Black on 1 Grom and White on the other. Both look great. Gotta be good with your hands and a heat gun.
watching this vid to turn my black to gold...KTM.. thanks for sharing
Holy fork that looks nice! 😂
Thanks man!

@@oneSMALLgarage do you know the measurements you cut each of those pieces
Just saw your video. Looks great. I am going to wrap my Grom's Gold forks too. Liked and subbed
That looks great man, how did it hold up over time?
It held up nice! I did have the bike stored outside of the weather so that helped too haha
good job dude!
Nice video, thanks for share.. why did you use doble layer in the bottom and top next to each clamps ?

Thanks, will try on mine next week.
What were the measurements you cut?
is it washable... i mean will it comes out if i wash my bike with shampoo?
id say yea you can wash it. I slightly overlapped it so water would not get under and have it start to peel. had no issues with it so far.
@@oneSMALLgarage thanks mate
I wrapped my wheels on my bike and never had a problem with them after even years on the bike.
Nice video gonna do my forks next
What were the small strips for at the top and bottom?

How is holding up now that you've had it for a while?
still good! keep the bike in the garage and not in the elements but not even peeling on the edge or anything! 👍
@@oneSMALLgarage, cool thanks. I think I may give this a shot.
what size did you order will 60” x 12” fit both forks?
yea, that is what I ordered a 1ft by 5ft piece.
Yall think electrical tape would be a good option to save money?🤔... Asking for a friend😌
they have vinyl now even at Walmart and Target, Try that if your trying to save some money, you'll notice the lines in tape.
The gold looks better
I like the black way better, but I respect your opinion brother
No lol
backseat driving is the best 🤪
That is so dumb! Why would you turn golden to black dude?!
golden??? I wrapped the "gold" for 1. to remove when I want to. and 2. when that is the only thing gold on the bike, yea going to remove it.
Becase Black or White on it looks ALOT better! LoL
