steve with the drift stitches for the win, old guys rule.... arc length = angle/360 x circumference ( 2 x 3.14159 x radius of bending die). length of a 45 degree bend using a 6.5 radius bending die is (45/360).125 x 40.84 (2 x 3.14159 x 6.5) = 5.105 inches. Now you don't need to borrow the bent piece of pipe with lines every 1"... ok or borrow the pipe lol.
Try shimming the sensor. I have an aluminum flywheel and it would just touch the sensor. Use a "copper shim" aka banjo washer, prolly about 1/32. No more touching and about 30k miles.

I was a dyno tech for in Military and civilian sector, and after a few thousand cycles and pressure tests, I haven't touched a Fram anything in 20 years, so maybe they stepped their game up. I'll buy one later tonight and abuse it to see.

If you can find Paraffin or Micro-crystalline Wax you can put some around the sensor on the outside of the engine and if it has completely melted away after a run then your crank sensor might have overheated. Since the engine can be hot enough after a run to destroy sensors (except O2) and other automotive grade electronics then any sensor, especially hall-effect style sensors, that bolt onto the engine can be damaged if the engine isn't being actively cooled. If that area of the engine ever reaches about 250F (120C) then it may damage the sensor. If you have to heat soak the engine then spraying a small amount of water on the sensor location could help keep it working.
