I won't bash you on Synecdoche, New York. A tough ride But if you make it to the end, Dianne Wiest makes it All Worth While and the last 10 minutes brought me to tears. But, Hard to get to the ending. On the verge of being artsy just for arts sake.
People thought Streep had a shot for Doubt but I'd imagine she lost to Winslet by a healthy margin though not a landslide. Kristin Scott Thomas was amazing in I've Loved Y=u So Long though. I think Winslet was great in The Reader.
Really great summation of a really great ceremony. Have always felt that La Winslet should have been nominated for "Revolutionary Road" (which, had Sam Mendes not filmed then cut THE key climactic scene from Richard Yates' novel might well have had more AMPAS/box office impact), but Her Merylity was amazing in "Doubt" (even originator Cherry Jones said so, and who are any of us to argue with Cherry Jones?) Absolutely "Dark Knight" was robbed, as was (again, "The Queen," ahem) Michael Sheen and CERTAINLY Rosemarie DeWitt. But it was a really solid year all the same. As ever, youse twose are the berries. More, please, thank you.

Kate was never supporting in the reader, that was crazy she needs to get all the awards she won in supporting in lead quickly

I just personally wish that Mickey Rourke would have won for The Wrestler. It’s the better performance in my eyes than Sean Penn in Milk
I thought The Reader was great- it was a worthy Best Picture contender despite Weinstein’s disgusting tactics.
The Reader is a good movie.
I just rewatched Twilight Breaking Dawn part 1 and 2. CGI is sooo cringe. Dialogue does not pass the 2023 test.
