Never heard of Nathaniel Murphy and thought this would be some generic review with a bunch of pentatonic shite but lord almighty can this man play guitar.
Shite comes in all scales, buddy. There’s plenty of trite, uninspired, soulless music that isn’t based on the pentatonic scale. Arguably, his strongest, most impressive playing was his rendition of “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”-which revolves around the mixolydian and, drum roll, minor pentatonic scale. Shite?
@@deadtothewxrld Aww, you got triggered by discussion on a five-note scale?! That’s pretty sensitive; youtube might not be for you if you can’t handle that! Let me know if there’s anything I can do to make it a more pleasant experience; you know, maybe like what I did for your mom.

I absolutely love my CV Tele. Mine is a CV 50’s in White Blonde ( looks like Mary Kaye ). It weighs in at 7.52 lbs, and resonates louder acoustically, than almost all of the high end guitars I’ve played at my local shops. The QC on it was really solid, although I’ve since done work to dress the frets, roll the fingerboard edges, polish the frets, sand down the back of the neck, and replaced the saddles with GOTOH compensated brass. The pick ups leave a bit to be desired, and I’m looking to replace them with Custom Shop Nocasters, since I have no interest in selling it, and don’t care about the “Squier” branded headstock. I think it’s one of the greatest underpriced guitars on the market. It feels and sounds way better than my 2021 MIM Strat.
NAT. IS. THE. BEST. Anybody who plays like that and has a heart as big as his head is the truest bluesman one can ever be. He doesn’t ever need to be anywhere but where he is to make the world a better place.
This vid was a warm and comfy way to ease into a Thursday morning. Because of your inspiration - once my coffee mug is empty - I'll be picking up the guitar to find a riff that's been bouncing around in my head for an hour. Thanks for posting it!
He absolutely killed it with that squier classic vibe tele. It looked and sounded absolutely incredible. I'm also a huge oasis fan and I was geeking out so hard when he was playing through the Gallagher Riviera. Props!
Such a pleasure listening to him. Great talent. I do use the middle position on the Strat a lot, after 25 years dissing it it became one of my favorites, now I wired the tone to the bridge pick up and did the neck and bridge mod. Great shop, bought several guitars from them.
The tele "all important" is middle, to me always. To me its the first tone I check when I pick one up. If it's not right, I don't continue. That preorder at 24:11 looks and sounds stunning.
Gotta say, the pickups on the PRS sounded full-bodied and balanced. Potential to be very versatile. Also loved the Epiphone SG. Seems like a great slab of electric guitar for the price. Assessing sound on TH-cam seems absurd, BUT the differences DO come through. The Harmony too (maybe for players who have numerous tools to do certain things), or for someone who could get hooked on its unusual tonal palette as his/her/X' own special thing.
I've bought two used guitars from Chicago Music Exchange: a $5200 Gibson Custom Shop R9 and a $356 Squier Classic Vibe Tele. Both of them are my best playing guitars. CME really knows how to pick the good ones. Rock on!
