I like the Squier Tele… great looking guitar! But why does that amp’s low end sound so thin and fuzzy? Sounds like a Big Muff. Anyway, fantastic playing!!!!
idk if people appreciate your pick hand enough when playing lol. You are so clean and light and accurate, it's a joy to hear that come through in your playing. So often that is an afterthought. You may just be doing it naturally, or you worked on it, either way it is VERY noticeable with clean tones.
As an older guy (50 here) and a brand new player of just 6 months, its so nice to see there are great affordable guitar options out there, especially for those of us who haven't quite found "our sound" yet and are still searching for that "one" guitar that speaks to us. And your playing is out of this world, its so inspiring to see someone who can play like this. Great video!
I'd recommend checking out G&L guitars. I'm 48 and picked up the guitar again after decades of not playing. It's been a year and I now have two G&Ls. A Comanche and a Fallout, both tribute series. But if you want to spend more, their US Fullerton line is top notch too. Also, more Fender than Fender. 😎👍
My dude 🙌 💪 I just gotta say 😮 I've been a player since Circa 1958.!!! Youngblood, you are absolutely one of the best guitar 🎸 players I've ever heard ❤️ and I've heard them all.!!! Do you have a Utube channel.? I could really enjoy listening 🎶 to you just about all day and night 🌙 😌 ✨️ 💕
There's so many things to love about these videos. But my favorite things about them are 1) Nathaniel's version of such and such song. When he plays a full tune on a guitar you know he really likes it. And these versions create such a buzz in the guitar space, people saying did you hear Nathaniel's version of whatever. It's like he's releasing a single or cover of the song. 2) that Amp. My god it makes all the guitars sound awesome. He doesn't even touch it really or maybe it's edited out. Just seems to make all these guitars have singing highs, crunch and smooth tones all in one. Great stuff as usual.

I'm kinda lovin the Silver Sky. Is it bad that I could sit here and listen to Nathaniel demo guitars for about 8 hours, maybe even longer? CME is full of so much eye candy on the walls it makes me feel happy. Great job Nathaniel and CME, as always. Thanks everyone. Edit to add: Honorable mention to that gorgeous CME exclusive Classic Vibe Tele....wow and only 5 BILLS. Too bad I'm a Lefty
Hearing those oasis riffs on the Noel Gallagher signature Epiphone made my day! I grew up in North Carolina, but Oasis was a huge part of my musical upbringing. I just got tickets to see the reunion show at Wembley next year! 😊
I’m hard pressed to think of an artist that could make use of his abilities, everything’s pop now. Dunno if he ever spent time in Nashville or has a manager but that might be what’s missing. A regular 9-5 demoing guitars for a living’s nice if you want a family. I am curious as we all are though. The more posts there are the more people know!
i somewhat disagree. tommy manuel did it. it’s just a niche market and there are way too many sessions players and way too much shitty music eating into profitable markets.
I immediately fell in love with the look of the Squier Classic Vibe '60s Custom Telecaster Oxblood. After Nathaniel's review I bought one. Can't wait for January!
I absolutely love my CV Tele. Mine is a CV 50’s in White Blonde ( looks like Mary Kaye ). It weighs in at 7.52 lbs, and resonates louder acoustically, than almost all of the high end guitars I’ve played at my local shops. The QC on it was really solid, although I’ve since done work to dress the frets, roll the fingerboard edges, polish the frets, sand down the back of the neck, and replaced the saddles with GOTOH compensated brass. The pick ups leave a bit to be desired, and I’m looking to replace them with Custom Shop Nocasters, since I have no interest in selling it, and don’t care about the “Squier” branded headstock. I think it’s one of the greatest underpriced guitars on the market. It feels and sounds way better than my 2021 MIM Strat.
The Harmony for all that great Mississippi North Hill stuff. The Squier Tele and the SG. Then any kind of Strat dropped to E flat and you have it all. Awesome performance of Crazy Little Thing, love it.
Effortless superb playing. Extremely jealous. I think the Harmony was definitely the best, for both sound and sheer class. Best regards from a dreek Falkirk away over in Scotland.
British virtuoso invades Chicago, that playing was mind blowing, cheers!! The 74 Harmony was the best demo, it really spoke to me, but it was the playing still wowed.
The greatest guitar player hardly anyone ever heard of..Anytime I see Nathaniel in a post I ALWAYS watch it..A good thing for CME I think..Just wish NM would go into the studio and record something, I would definitely buy it!! Very nice Harmony 335 or 337 style guitar too..
I've bought two used guitars from Chicago Music Exchange: a $5200 Gibson Custom Shop R9 and a $356 Squier Classic Vibe Tele. Both of them are my best playing guitars. CME really knows how to pick the good ones. Rock on!
I might be in the minority here but I actually own the Noel Gallagher Riviera and I quite enjoy it! So I'm going to say that's my favorite because I love that guitar. And Nathaniel the playing was just superb, spellbinding and a treat to listen to, so whatever it is you guys do next you can bet I'll be tuning in.
This video is actually having the opposite effect on me… Nathan’s playing is so good, not only am I NOT gonna buy one of these nice guitars, I’m thinking of selling all my gear and getting a new hobby😂 (That Queen cover was amazing btw. Bro just casually slaying shit).
I'm so late. I had no clue you had an accent this entire time. lmao. Maybe I've missed other vides of you talking over the years, but such a pleasant surprise. Great playing as usual!
You guys have always done me right, instruments always clean as can be, packed well, and as advertised and no hassle return or exchange if it just isn’t right for me. You guys are top shelf. You keep that up, you have me as a loyal customer. I am an older Xgen and get the itch for something new and have quite a collection now. One thing I wish I could do is trades online with HD photo and video. Chi town is a looooong way away.
Okay, I'm gonna sound like a shill but i love this store so much! You can just hang out, play and look at cool shit. The staff is super helpful and knowledgeable. Everyone is so polite too! You guys rule!!!!!
I've only been once--made a pilgrimage last summer on a rare trip to Chicago--and can confirm. Everyone was very nice to me, even though I'm not a skilled player, and even though I was just browsing. It's rare to go to a shop and just be allowed to noodle on several guitars each worth thousands of bucks. One of these days I will find a way to go back and actually drop some cash.
Awesome playing! I got a great deal from you guys on a Yamaha FG5 last holiday season, and that thing is amazing. Might be hitting you up again soon for one of those Teles!
This guy has the best job on Earth!! He gets paid to do what I do for free!! He certainly has better Toys than I do (not by much), and he gets to play them all every day!! I might add that he is absolutely a smoking guitarist to be sure!!
Cool video. I liked the SG and the PRS. Next video......how bout "guitars with the most "mojo"". You decide what that means and give us your reasons. Another idea? How about guitars to fit player archetypes (jazz player, metal head, yacht rock etc)?

I recommend the tuna🐟
I have found the PRS SE Mccarty 594 to be a great guitar for the money. In fact, I like it better than a lot of $2,000 guitars that I have played.
I'm gonna vote Tele! In fact, ordered one. :)
If I was adding one to a collection, the Harmony had a ton of character. One to own, big fan of the PRS.
That Tele-cover of Crazy Little thing called love 🤩🤩🤩 just wow!
That was wild man! Dude is incredible. When he started doing the snaps I lost it 😂
Unreal.
THIS
This guy is the perfect ambassador for the electric guitar. Has it all
Who the heck needs a looper when you can play all the parts of the song at the same time?! Nathaniel, you're amazing!!!
Who needs a recording studio when you can just play the same song over and over? Duh.
I love how her throws in a “hee hee” when playing Michael Jackson
Haha that’s what i about commented on😆 I could hear his voice
That arrangement of “Live Forever” is just epic. Vocal melody and the guitar solo and all. Pure class.
I laughed loud when you played MJ's black and white. Even MJ's tiny scream you played...omg. You're gifted, dude
For a moment I was surprised how nice that Harmony sounded. Then I remembered who’s playing it. He’d make a cigar box sound like a Stradivarius.
I feel like he chose these based on how well they match his outfit. Because let's be real, this guy can make any guitar sound incredible.
😂
I like the Squier Tele… great looking guitar! But why does that amp’s low end sound so thin and fuzzy? Sounds like a Big Muff.
Anyway, fantastic playing!!!!
true. even a Squier.
Nathaniel Murphy deserves a raise and even a salute 👍🎶thanks

The tele for $500 is fantastic value … The Harmony had all the character

The tele seemed to inspire Nathan the most.
If I remember correctly Teles are his favorite
This is true, Nathaniel is a Tele man for sure 🤘
I have that tele with an American fender neck and it’s unreal
I'm personally a huge Reverend fan but gotta say, that Squire tele was nice ! I was also very impressed with your ability on a fret board. WoW !
the "Live forever" arrangement was something out of this world.
is this the first song he plays on the hollow body epi?
