  • Mars Hydro recently reached out to see if we wanted to review this grow light, and as we are going to be starting a small autoflower grow soon it was great timing. Lets get this thing unboxed, and see if it is going to work out the way we are hoping.

    First video I've seen that tests par at different watts at varying heights. Thank you.

    Can I mount the controller/ballast outside the tent without any additional requirements? I keep reading you must ground the light separately?

    I've never gotten any stickers. I'm upset about it. But anyway. Is that the upgraded version of The FC-3000. that's what my light looks like. The bars in the middle are farther apart.

      I am not sure if this was an older or newer version, it is the only Mars Hydro light that we have ever checked out =)

    Hey, was the tent you used in the video a 2x2?

    They must have changed the way the driver mounts onto the light. I believe mine screwed onto the sides of the bar

    • @TheGrowingGeeks
      @TheGrowingGeeks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are four plastic screws that go into the sides if you want to mount it there, but if you aren't going to turn the light upside down it seems to ride on top of the light just fine =)

    Testing without the recommended tent size may be practical for your test methodology but useless for potential buyers looking for accurate par tests that are easily digestible. Poor decision imo.

      Part of the problem is having space for all of the value sized tents. I am working on it though, and we will have follow up videos of the measurements in tents as well.

      @@TheGrowingGeeks You can simply buy some cardboard and cover with mylar, cut into rectangles and adjust as per the lights intended coverage area.

      Both are very decent lights, though I really enjoy the bar style lights if they can fit in the tent. It really depends on the size of your tent and how the shape of the light will best fit in. Bar style can give a more even coverage with a lower light, while the board style tend to be more focused in the middle.
