    I have success with growing in flowering exclusively with this light. Not sure why you say it’s only good for supplemental light in flowering. You can use this light from start to finish in a grow.

    Are par heights taken from floor or top of the sensor. If from floor then 18" is really 16.25" to 16.5" from top of sensor correct?

    There's actually was a study basically as long as there's no UV or at least any significant amount of UV light colder blue temperatures run just as effective as red or warmer color temperatures.
    And by adding UV at the end of the life cycle of the plant with colder blue temperatures help also increase the coloring of the plant.

    Seems like 12" is too close for flower, and 18" is okay in the middle, but not so much outward from the center. Maybe somewhere between the two? I'd love to always see what's between the two heights. At 14", 16", as most test 12", then 18". I'd think at 14"-15", it may give you 1000-umols plus, in the center, with maybe 700-umols near the edges.. Just something that pops up in many reviews. Too bright in the center, not enough outwards, or not bright enough in the center, but a more even light footprint outwards. Yeah, more work, lol, but more info as well! Thanks for your great review. @@28russ hi. Removing the drivers wouldn't void the warranty. When it arrives the drivers are separate and you have to physically attach them. Also the cables to connect from the diver to the board are really long to give you the customer the option. Which imo is good thinking on the manufacturers part.
      Ps I've had mine a few weeks and so far really impressed. But I'm in the veg stage, switching over this week so I'll have to see how they perform for flower.

  • @RowsOfGreen
    @RowsOfGreen 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    That’s actually not a bad price. No need for two drivers though, that’s just adding more heat.
    And they need to ditch the outdated epistar diodes that burn out to 50% in a year.

    • @timpage5021
      @timpage5021 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're updated SMD gen1 flat diodes that have are powered at around .30 . They're nearly as good as the Samsung 301lmb diodes. Just as efficient and powered at the exact efficacy. Only a better spectrum. I've got a couple sp150s and the ts1000 and a HLG 550 v2 480watt that's all 4000k. The Marshydro ts1000 spectrum is closer to natural sunlight with the variance in spectrum. The sun isn't 1 spectrum all the time so why have a grow light with just 1 band of wavelength? Additionally I hacked my 550 and replaced about 30 % of the 4000k diodes with Osram and Epistar 440 and 660s along with some Cirrus UV- B diodes in the 280 nanometer wavelength. Voided the shit outta my warranty but I built a much better light and now know how much better it is I'm in the process of a new build from jump but avoiding HLG and going straight to the Manufacturers of parts. Saving me at a minimum of 300 dollars compared to 800 I spent for a sub-par light and building a far superior grow light. That's what's great about LEDs. Just a lil bit of knowledge of circuitry and soldering anyone can build far superior light themselves and save hundreds if not thousands of dollars. I highly recommend everyone who wants to learn to build a light themselves Is buy the HLG 65 or 100 as a base and then improve upon it. Once you get your feet wet with the 1st successful improved build then your off to the races and will prolly feel as foolish I as I 1st did. Like why didn't start building the lights myself sooner.

    Well hello! Love your vids and just bought two DIY HLG Saber 100's from your store. Could you please please please do a review vid on them, with special attention paid to some possible driver setups. The info from HLG and the driver database is very incomplete. Before I can order drivers from you guys, I am going to have to call HLG tech dept and question them in depth. For example, I was going to buy two drivers, each capable of running 2-3 Sabers for future expansion, but I am not sure that I can dim 3 lights from one larger driver. Also it turns out its a little cheaper to buy smaller drivers, which also state they are dimmable, and I can adjust each light level as needed. I am not sure the pros or cons of each setup, or how running under/over powered balasts with dimming affects the efficiency and longetivity of leds. After writing all this, I think I need a HLG Saber 100 review and a led ballast how-to guide lol.
    Thanks!

      Yes, i would say the it's perfectly suited for that number of plants in a 3x3 feet or 90x90 centimeters grow tent. I think you could even grow 4 smaller plants, but the grow tent could be too small depending on the strain. I got the TSL-2000 which has similar specs to TSW-2000 but it's shaped longer for a 2x4 tent. I'm planning to grow 4 plants, some people even suggested me 5-6 smaller plants but i will keep it at 4 maximum.

      I just got my TSL2000 from their official store on Aliexpress. Definitely looks brand new, except for a slight dent on the reflector which probably happened during shipment. Doesn't affect the light at all, and i could shape it back.
      P.S - The reflector is not fragile or flimsy, it's pretty firm. The packaging is not too bad either although it could be better. It's just that the package was over 25kg heavy because i ordered a full growkit. The courier was a bit skinny so he might have dropped it.

    Been growing for 35 years this led is the best if you add a couple heatsinks on top they will preform like any other High price led maybe better because of the balance of blue and added red diode's but actually when you use a 3000-4000k diode's there is no need to add more red or blue if you want less blue in your White just use 3000k diode's if you want more blue use 3500-4000k diode's but a complete board with Only 3000-4000k will grow perfect balance spectrum for any plants with quality and yield so these manufacturers just dumping extra color chips in board's when all that's required for totally full spectrum is a 3500k white from seed to FLOWER 🤓
