Live vicariously through videos of the Trent Severn from Love Sick lock to Lake Simcoe where we had our family cottage for 33 years on the Talbot River just downstream of Gamebridge lock. My dad built a 20 foot cabin cruiser from plans 2 years before I was born and we did a trip upstream every summer for about 10 years in it. I will likely find the information bur what year, make and model is your cabin cruiser?
Hey, that’s great to hear. Our boat is a 2022 back Cove 390. Well, our boards are not the most fuel efficient things ever. It allows us to get to our camp up in northern Georgian Bay. Couldn’t do that with a couple of inboard diesel engines. We have some shallow water to get to. But honestly, these three engines gave us no trouble on their longest voyage we took. Covered 1182 miles and used. 1150 gallons of gas. Eventually, the goal is to finish the great loop. I’ve done half of it with my father. Need to go from the Great Lakes down to the gulf. Sorry it took me so long to get back to your message. Honestly didn’t think anyone would comment on this video :-)
Hey, we sure do. I don’t use it that often because the little unpredictable. I wouldn’t use it near a dock or in close quarters personally. But with a little bit more open space or just pulling away sideways from a dock, it’s totally great. The skyhook digital anchor works great. But really from maneuvering within a marina. I prefer a bow thruster and the two sticks.
@@johnriat5759 I am sure that if you really learned to use your joy stick you would see how much easier it is when docking. I am a delivery Captain and am certified to teach joy sticking. The skyhook will help you setup to dock regardless of the wind or current. Practice on calm days and you will gain confidence. Love your videos.
