@@PatrickKelly-lz3pv Okay, so I'm an atheist, too. But the mistake you have made is that you have just claimed that all gods are bogus and by doing so you have shifted burden of proof from the Theist onto yourself, so all the Theist has to do now is to say 'prove gods are bogus'. But you cannot prove one way or the other if gods exist or don't. What we want is for good old chrisakin6144 to keep the burden of proof so that we can ask them to prove their claim that gods are real... something they also cannot do.
@@TukikoTroy Most probably the Abrahamic god. The most common grouping of theists are monotheists which generally worship that which is referred to as god/ yahwey or allah. Its even more obvious when you open you're eyes and ears and realise that they are westerners, who are generally monotheists. Don't be obtuse
The skeleton at 16:20 seems to exemplify the relaxed pace of this kind of vacation especially as minutes before, the pace of the boat reminded me of Dr. Nefario's scooter in Despicable Me. 😂
Crossed this in 1960 in two open dinghies with ten sea scouts . Freeboardwas about 3 inches as the trough was full . The footway was in a poor state with gaping holes, some about ten foot long . Meant we could look down both sides !! ❤😂 Llangollen was crowded with moored boats so had to scull over the transom . Old gentleman called he had not seen that skill practiced for 30 years 😅
What an incredible story! Crossing in two open dinghies with just three inches of freeboard must have been an adventure in itself! It’s amazing to hear how things were back then, especially with the footway in such rough shape...looking down both sides sounds both thrilling and terrifying! It's hard for us to imagine that, bc the pathway is in such good condition now. Thank you so much for sharing such a unique memory.
That’s so cool! We must have just missed a chance to say hello. What a beautiful place for a walk! Maybe we’ll cross paths again on a future adventure.
Did the Llangollen canal from Bunbury for the first time in July this year (and first time on narrowboat too). Was a slog going, very slow with the current against you but Llangollen and Trevor (and Chirk!) are lovely with good pubs. Hope you enjoyed it.
That sounds like an amazing trip! We know exactly what you mean, battling the current can make it feel like quite a slog, but the views and the good pubs along the way are a great reward. We had such an enjoyable time and can’t wait to do more adventures like this.
Fantastic. I really enjoyed this. I live in the town next to the floating market. Solved my date query. I fish some of this area so spend time by the cut frequently aswell as walks. I thought you were handling the boat fantastically well( compared to some!). It's always interesting to here the many accents and languages of those who come to enjoy the Waterways. Well done on crossing the Fron aqueduct and reaching Llangollen. There is an area by road close to the canal where crossing the border is frequent, in an out of Wales. By the way the 'which' towns of Cheshire are Salt mining towns as the Cheshire plain is very low-lying and as such is a Salt plain. It gives the local Cheese its traditional flavour. Well done guy's 😊
Thanks so much! What a beautiful spot to live and fish! We were so surprised to meet so many people from all over. Crossing the aqueduct was definitely a highlight for us! And thanks for the info on Cheshire; we actually went to the cheese festival a couple of years back and fell in love with Cheshire cheese-it’s one of our favorites! Appreciate you watching!

It sounds like a perfect watch after experiencing the canals ourselves. Looks like it is available on Amazon Prime, so we’ll be able to watch it back in the States too! Appreciate the recommendation!
I don't want to pour water on your fire but my mate had a 52-footer (Boat🤫) and he lived on it all year around, the winters on a narrow boat can be brutal (I am sure you have heard) so if you are going to use your future boat in the cold, wrap up warm and keep a sharp axe. Having a great time, I see, not many get to live on one for any time at all, Take care and Happy boating.
Thanks for the heads-up! We’ve definitely heard that winters on a narrowboat can be pretty brutal. If we ever brave the cold on a future boat, we’ll make sure to wrap up warm and have plenty of wood for the stove. It’s been such a great experience so far, and we really admire those, like your mate, who live on a boat year-round.
It's the tallest aqueduct in the world shipmates.❤ Traveled that canal many times, mainly from the same boatyard as you. Then it was English County Cruises.
Oh, good to know! How cool that you’ve traveled the Llangollen Canal so many times, sounds like you’re a pro at it! We loved starting from that boatyard as we felt it gave us plenty of time to learn before we reached some more challenging areas of the canal. Do you have a favorite stretch of the canal?
@@AndrewandMegan Thanks for the reply. In answer to your question, my favourite stretch on the Llangollen is the last few miles from Trevor basin up to Llangollen wharf. Having said that, it's all great. We have taken newbies ( first timers) on that canal as it has a bit of everything, including..bridges, aqueducts, tunnels, lift bridges etc. The views when overlooking the river Dee are spectacular. Enjoy your cruising. 👍👍Barrie.
Well done another excellent video , next time bring a couple of friends and either share a boat or hire two but let the lads have a pint or two along your journey . There are lots of canals in the UK so you see a lot more countryside , just do more research .
People who sit by locks watching the boats go through are affectionately known as "gongoozlers". Have you got your sealegs yet? I'm not joking, narrowboats rock from side to side a lot, and after a while you'll be unable to walk in a straight line on dry land (and that's going TO the pub).
Ah, so that’s what they’re called. Neither one of us have ever heard that term. As for our sea legs... we're still working on those. But at a pub, Megan did say "I still feel like I'm rocking on the boat" and that was before any beers. So she's getting there!
Thanks so much for the advice! Safety is definitely something we take seriously, and you're absolutely right, it only takes a second for something to happen. Good idea to keep those safety jackets handy and on in locks.

Absolutely worth it! The scenery, the history, the people, and the adventure have made it such an unforgettable trip. And you’re so right...without all that rain, there’d be no canals! It’s all part of the experience.
Are you still in the area? I’m a Welsh local and have an amazing experience for you to do. Also, Pontcysyllte doesn’t mean ‘the bridge that connects’. Cysyllte is the old name for the parish. It is literally just ‘the bridge at Cysyllte’.

Happy Birthday, Megan and what a great video! I’m going to be doing the same trip as you guys in a couple of weeks, but out of Whitchurch. Can’t wait! It looks so beautiful.

So glad you enjoyed it and thank you for sharing!
Hi guys - spotted the thumbnail and yes... you came within about a mile of where I live - just before the shorter aqueduct. Well navigated and i hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.

Watching your adventures is making me want to hire a narrow boat and explore.
That’s awesome to hear! Honestly, it’s such a fun and relaxing way to explore the UK, you won’t regret it if you give it a go!
That was amazing and you were true professionals. Happy belated birthday, Megan. Just think that all those canals were dug out by hand.
@@RonSeymour1 it is a wild thought! Such a unique piece of history.
It's where we get "navvies" from, for the ones that dug canals to navigate the waterways.
Awesome navigation
Thank you!
Andrew, I think that when you tied the knot with Megan, you hit the jackpot. Give thanks to God everyday.
Yep, Megan is an Angel in disguise!
Which god? This is the internet, there are many gods.
@@TukikoTroy But they are all bogus so who cares.
haha we love that comparison. It definitely sums up the laid back pace of narrowboating.
You took to it like ducks to water ❤
@@David-c6z3x well, thank you very much! Great analogy for this adventure!
You did a marvellous job, hope you enjoyed your time in Great Britain
We discover something new every time we're here. Thanks for the compliments!
Thank you so much for sharing such a unique memory.
passed you on your return journey from llangollen back over the aquaduct i was walking my puppy
I’m so jealous of you. That looks amazing. Hopefully one day I’ll get to do a canal boat holiday.
10/10 recommend. It was so much fun!
You did great guys. I've been on the route and it can be pretty stressful. 👍

That was great. I was there recently with the family and it was a struggle getting my wife to cross that aqueduct 😁

@AndrewandMegan I ve had a glance at some of your previous vlogs, my Mum had a shop in Nantwich many, many years ago.

Just come across you guys, you have passed my house in this video, my back garden is on the canal. I live in froncysyllte and can see the pontcysyllte aqueduct from my house.
Hope you enjoyed the area and your time here.
Have subscribed so looking forward to following you guys on your adventures. Big love to you both from big Tony 👍👍👍👍

Belated birthday greetings Megan. You're both doing really good.

Absolutively wonderful that you experienced and enjoyed the fun and endured the challenges of narrowboat and canal life, and the scenery along the way. If you'd like too reminisce with like-minded shows,,when you have a quiet.cosy evening back home, try watching Great Canal Journeys, with British actors, married couple,Timothy West & Prunella Scales,or Canal Boat Diaries,if they're available back across the pond?
Thank you so much! We truly loved every part of the narrowboat experience, from the fun to the challenges, and the stunning scenery along the way. We’ll definitely check out 'Great Canal Journeys'.
Following In Harrison Ford and Callista Flockhearts shoes, who took the same canal vacation a while back!
I did that trip with a group of friends in 1974!
Great memories!
👍👍Barrie.
Hello , Is this your second video ? If it is , welcome back . If not , sorry , but keep doing what you are doing and enjoy your trip
Hi there! Welcome! It is our second one, thank you for the welcome back! We enjoyed this trip very much. 😁
Well done another excellent video , next time bring a couple of friends and either share a boat or hire two but let the lads have a pint or two along your journey . There are lots of canals in the UK so you see a lot more countryside , just do more research .
That sounds like a great time! We saw some groups of friends having a grand time. Andrew did finally get his pint... or two... in Llangollen! 😆
did this last year :)
Awesome! How'd you enjoy it?
There's quite a water flow on that part of the Shropshire Union canal. It was designed to transport water (to England probably).
We could definitely feel that current running against us at times!
@@AndrewandMegan I've been over the aqueduct in a booze cruise so making headway wasn't too important😁
When you hired the boat I’m surprised you didn’t borrow or hire a nicholsons guide, much easier to use than a map.
We'll have to get that for the next one!
Grindley is about 20ft or 6 and a bit meters raise/fall, always amazes me that people come up with ideas to travel up and downhill on water.
It is so fascinating, agree! What a unique piece of history!
You should tie up near a pub for the night for the full experience 😊
Excellent advice! 😁
The only thing i would say guys wear a safety jacket in locks and on side of boat it can happen 😢😊
Thanks so much for the advice! Safety is definitely something we take seriously, and you're absolutely right, it only takes a second for something to happen. Good idea to keep those safety jackets handy and on in locks.
Great vid, Megan is a real babe, shes so funny and sweet, and smiling
7:20 I'm wondering (pun intended!) whether you actually noticed BakedOnBoard playing Stevie Wonder's 'Happy Birthday' in the background?
@@CruisingTheBroads we did, we had a whole dance party to it! They were so kind to us! We couldn’t play the whole things because of copyright.☹️ But it was the best! ❤️

Back in the late sixties we as a family went across that aqueduct my mum locked herself in the toilet if there was logic there i never found out. Thankyou for a great video thoroughly enjoyed it.
Pity you didn't take a 70 footer. There so much more fun, especially going round corners!
Megan feels uncertain about the fun element of that 😂😅

😆...maybe I was just impressed I made it through the bridge😆
@@AndrewandMegan great driving. I did it in the Norfolk Broads which was tricky enough but the canals you travelled were a less wide. Very impressed.

@@anthonystavely9947 thanks!
The footpath alongside the canal was for a horse used to pull the narrowboat.
So fascinating! We shared some photos of that in our first video. We really enjoyed learning about that.
Question. Was it worth the trip? Hope so. BTW. No lots of rain, no canals! 😊
Thanks so much for the insight and correction on the Welsh translation. We’re not in the area right now, but we’d love to hear more about that amazing experience you mentioned! It’s always great getting tips from locals. What do you recommend for the next time we’re in Wales?
