During the 1600s our scientific ideas about the solar system and gravity crystallized. Other discoveries in that century more directly affected our ideas about human origins and diversity, notably the works of Edward Tyson and Isaac de la Peyrere. There was also an artistic allegory associating each continent with a specific human body, which would diffuse into science over the following decades.
