I was undecided on which electric screwdriver I wanted to get. I decided to buy the WowStick #SD63 and the Skil electric screwdrivers. Which one will screw better?

Nice little review John. Skil makes some very under rated small power tools. I've got a cordless Skil screw driver that's close to 20 years old and still going! It has lasted much longer than the two Black & Decker and even the Milwaukee articulating ones that I've had and cost the least of the bunch. Only thing missing on the newer models is a clutch.

      Hey Rich!
Yeah, I have the older version of this Skil driver. I was going to use it in the comparison video. However, it is over 10 years old and wanted to compare tools with the same price point, with similar accessories. I wanted to see what the WowStick was all about, so I went on to Amazon and tried to find a product that matched the WowStick in price and accessories. I felt if I went with a electric screwdriver with a clutch, it would be too similar to a drill. With that being said, it is a fantastic feature that all electric screwdrivers should have. I would have to say, I was pretty disappointed with the WowStick. It wasn’t the he torque comparison. It was the, led light that didn’t work, stubby USB-C cable, no charging brick, and lack of basic documentation. These are real consumer based issues. The Skil just worked out of the box, which the WowStick didn’t.

though I 100% agree with you, the Wowstick isn't really designed for what you were mostly testing it with. it's made more for repetitive and small, precision work like assembly and disassembly of electronic boards and such. like the one screw you did in the remote (Nice antique by the way! ) but I tried one and like you, I'd prefer a more comfortable pistol grip driver any day. Great and fun video for sure! like the mini driver kicking your butt! ;)

@@TripodsGarage or it popped back up on my "auto play" and ur ridiculousness was too much to pass by. Ur like one of those dumb people that can't do simple tasks on infomercials, like a train wreck...can't help but to look. But since u brought it up,why did u complain about a powerbrick when I had a outlet right infront of u? Are u dumb or blind? Considering u quoted me from another posting to reply in this one shows that not only am I in YOUR head, but livin RENT FREE.

The reason I like the Bosch Go driver is because it has adjustable torque settings so you don't run the risk of stripping out a plastic thread in whatever you are working on. But good video all the same.

Yeah the WowStick peeps won’t be happy 😞. The Skil has 4x the torque.

If you judge a fish's intelligence by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its entire life thinking it's stupid.
As Llama said, the stick has its use cases and they don't include everything the larger driver can do. Mine does perfectly well (OK, it does grunt a bit) driving M3 screws into printed holes.
My reasons for buying were: on sale, Dan had an aff link, came w/ 3 tubes of bits, and I figured why not as I was getting tired of manual drivers. Yes, I'll be lucky if I use 1/3 of the bits.

@@OldCurmudgeon3DP - I agree this is most definitely based on the users needs. I based my review on pricing, What you get for the price. This was just a price comparison video review. Of course the WowStick and Skil can fit peoples different needs, and not everyone will agree with me 👍

@@TripodsGarage I agree with you based on the tests in your video. I just think the conditions were skewed in Skil's favor. i.e. I would be hesitant to use the Skil on projects where the wow would shine. A very educated trigger finger would be prudent.
Im not knocking either one. I'd get the Skil as well if I didn't already have a 19.2v craftsman drill. So far I haven't needed a Skil-size driver for tight spaces. Right tool for the right job as they say. 👍
Oh, sorry if my tone came across as abrasive earlier. It wasn't supposed to.

@@OldCurmudgeon3DP - I went on to Amazon. Tried to match prices with accessories. I wanted to buy the WowStick, but needed to find a competitive product that didn’t look like it, that someone would find in a hardware store. These were the best match a couple months ago. I do not favor one tool over the other. Both will still be used by me, as I purchased both products. People will not always agree with my reviews, and that is fine. There was only one test that the WowStick failed, which was torque. Was it a failure, not really it was just a comparison. The higher torque isn’t needed for every user case. I feel that since that charging light didn’t work, the stubby USB-C cable, no charging brick, and lack of documentation, made my review justified. OG, we have known each other for a long time, your post was not the least bit offensive. If you want to see offensive posts, read the comments on my Driveway Video 😂😂

Meanwhile the wowstick was charged from jump which is why the light never came on. There is a definite bias goin on here. The wowstick holds 12 bits(which is more than ull EVER need),the skil holds 2...u complain "where are u gonna put the rest" for the wowsticks 12 but say "well at least u get a case" when the skil only held 2. On the "torque" test u ran the skil for a good 4 seconds longer before it drive the screw in and improperly used it throughout the whole test. Why didn't u do a "mobility" test in which u would be fitting them into tighter spaces found around the house like cabinet doors, screws recessed into things or mounted light fixtures. From jump u have put a condescending tone when using the wowstick when really ur just steering people away from a quality tool.
Fact is both tools are completely different designs for a reason, and when used in their PROPER ENVIRONMENT are both VERY NICE TOOLS. Both tools are for "around the house" just not the same areas. The skil is for doing things like building a bookcase, driving screws to hang pictures, removing cover panels. The wowstick is for things like taking apart a stereo, accessing larger embedded screws and larger electronic devices. I personally own both types and def use them equally, sometimes the skil type won't work so ill use the wowstick, sometimes the wowstick isn't the right fit so I use the skil.
But I guess u always gotta bash one of them

Would deffo agree I'm getting a wow stick SD as I've got the normal one and I hate tha batteries, for 3d printers and keyboards and maybe a few other pcb electronics and it has worked really well, something that my normal hand drill would not be suited for obvouis reasons, but I wouldn't use a wowstick to build a bed
