Remember in Germany we drive on the right side of the road and vehicles are left-hand-drive, like in the US. So you need to flip the barrier around and place the guard house on the left side, to the driver's papers can be checked easily.
My humble weathering suggestion. Oil stains and scrapes in the cement from the tank tracks. Maybe some rubber marks from the tractor tires as well. Looks very inspiring.
Excellent work so far, Andy. A suggestion for the Guard House location - think of traffic flow from street into factory and security... Guard House might be better turned 90* and placed behind wall facing (tractor) doors? Your Opel is also fantastic - not all German vehicles were military ;) Kudos eh
The extra weathering on the buildings really improves the look. I think adding the tree was a good choice. Not sure if adding another tree will block too much of the diorama. Excellent work.
Andy, looking great. That tree blocks the view of that part of the factory... And, You need a section of old wooden fence along the back edge, behind that new pipe-holding truss, to close off that view. Thanks for showing us this project. Ralph
I have to say...I wasn't too enthused about this kit, but it looks darn good. You did a nice job on it. Now let's get back to some cool and unusual plastic kits, ha ha.
I’m totally in love with both the current set-up, & your ideas for the future. It’s actually going to be a giant diorama, & I’m not sure anyone would have the room to make it bigger than you have. Can’t wait to see what coming next. Been watching this channel almost since the beginning & just love it. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
My idea for the railway(s) : - running front to back, crossing the street. Large gates to keep people from entering via the tracks. - Stop blocks at the back so you can place something behind these blocks to cover the "hole". - Tanks are usually (un)loaded via a ramp. You need more space. Train dioramas are huge.
Very cool! you've done a lot of work. My recommendations: The guard box needs to be outside the wall next to the weighted end. Inside it blocks the entrance and looks out of place. Since you are extending the wall, which I think will bring it to another level, add more trees in the greenspace along the wall. I'm very glad you are enlarging the diorama. The loading dock buildings are a stroke of inspiration. But note all cargo, drums etc. should be neat. Factories are efficient ant not messy. The tanks should Have a drive up ramp level to the flat car as that is how tanks get on trains. Since the tracks end it becomes a spur line. Have you thought about adding a switch engine in front of the flat car that would have taken the tank to the rail yard. Sorry about this rambling. You got me so excited about your cool diorama!
idea I had for you is to make a shadow box. so when you leave doors open you could use photos to make the building look deeper. also could use mirrors to make the building look bigger. just some tricks from the model railroad world. looks good.
Thank You for the update. I have two ideas: You could end the wall in 90 degree angle. The street will end there (dead end). This way You will have more space for rail yard. I hope You will be able to get the same wall that will match existing one. On dead end street You could and Parken Verboten sign and on entrance barrier You can put Halt sign. You can use something similar to the German WWII Period Road Signs from DioArt.
Guardhouse and gate would go on the drivers side of the vehicle as you would stop it. Your setup has the guard stoping to question vehicles leaving the factory.
The diorama's looking good. The truck with the red cab adds some much needed color and at the end of the video when it looked like it was about to enter the plant I think would be better than just having it parked on the road. Maybe to add a bit of humor put in a worker that decided to sneak out for a quick smoke have him tucked away on the far side of the building. Keep up the good work.
Love the tree it gives it a little natural scenery and color. Maybe add some weeds along the base of the wall just a little so it looks like it was well maintained.
I like this. One opinion, I was a little shook by the "pipe support structure" you added in the back for the drain pipe. As a petro-chemical piping designer for forty years, that pipe would span that distance without a problem. Adding the other pipe as you indicated would give justification for the structure. I think the extra structure takes away from the layout personally, too busy in that corner. Nice space between buildings for maintenance, but the extra structure seems like "too much". But you're able to see it from all angles, and as Bob Ross would say, "It's your happy little world"!!! Looking forward to next installment!
Looks amazing. You need to weather up that crossing guard arm. It's to bright and new looking compared to the rest of it. The guard shack needs to be rotated 90 degrees clockwise and maybe a small window put in on the street side. Maybe some more weathering on the sidewalk. It looks too clean still.
You know, sometimes these " rivet counters " take stuff too serious. I just want to have fun with modeling. I'm not trying to make a showpiece for a museum that's perfectly historical accurate. I'm glad people can do that and it's amazing when they do but your diorama it's telling a story and may not be exactly acturate but it's fun. Sorry for the bad grammar I'm a hillbilly. 😂 Love you're work Andy.
In this case, I'd like to think people were trying to be helpful (a wrong assumption, maybe?) as Andy is playing a little fast and loose with some of the details. Sometimes that's necessary to tell the story but blatant errors, regardless of the intent, can also ruin the story a modeler is trying to tell. Of course, where to draw the line can depend on your viewpoint but ultimately, this is Andy's dio and he can do whatever the hell he wants! 😉
I'd like to see you place SDKFZ 222 or other armoured cars, the puma would be cool in the diaramma, the panzer one is a great idea as well. Loving the channel. 👍👊✌️🇬🇧.

Compliments Andy! As a European, I am missing the gutters on the buildings. I can imagine that this would be a challenge to make, but it would add a realistic detail.
Andy, great work, looks good. The gate is unnatural. The guard must leave the factory grounds to open the gate. I think it makes more sense to move the crossbar to the left or put the sentry outside. And your train idea...why 1 track? Can't you lay a second track with a platform in between? It's Germany..."Deutsch Gründlichkeit". They are just ideas, everything looks very good. The panzer 1 is a good idea, it fits in proportion to the buildings.
And also something I've noticed when it comes to getting my model tanks as accurate as possible,I'm yet to have 1 single visitor in my house that's looked at one of my tiger 1's and say "wait a minute, isn't that a late version tiger but you have an early version light?" I would like to see a railtrack running into the building (embedded into the road)
it looks nice but the factory doors seem kinda small for a tank to fit through
I can get a panzer III in the door (barely) so panzer one is so tiny ,smaller then the truck so it should work well. Thnaks for watching
Many of their factory workers were teenagers, hence 1\48 miniatures would be quite satisfactory.
