Andy, the first model I ever built was snap together Sherman in late '69. My father was terminally ill and he wanted to share his hobbies and past times with us. I was 4. Do the math and that was half a century ago. The Sherman was always a favorite kit of mine (the Elephant/Ferdinand was my 2nd fave) and I built any Sherman I could get my hands on. I built about a dozen Testors (italeri) versions, Monograms hedgehog and Screamin' Mimi, early Dragon kits and just about every scale out there. I've seen great kits and kits that shouldn't have been manufactured. Looking at how well that HVSS went together really impressed me with the quality of the castings, the engineering of the kit and the level of detail. Can't wait to get mine, preordered during your live stream, and I have yet to decide how I'm going to paint it. I hope to see other variants in 1/16 like a Firefly and an A1. You did a great job that is an awesome looking kit.
It's mind boggling to think about how well thought out the design is on the track and road wheels. The person who thought this through and made it happen is a genius.
Hope you don't mind, I picked up the Crazy 8 Sherman today and I'm taking my time..following your videos on it,and I made a slight mod to the idler wheels ..drilled and added screws like the RC tanks have..
I wonder whether it could be made and sold as a separate add-on kit. With no internal attachment points included in this present kit, getting all the interior bits properly located might require an advanced level of skill, but it certainly would be cool to have the option.
When I think that you were a guy that liked to build plastic kits, and then started your own hobby shop, and now have a beautiful 1/16 (!) Sherman with your name on it, that's just amazing. Congrats. Looks like a beautiful kit.
You state that you appreciate all of us in supporting your venture with the Easy Eight. Well my appreciation for you Andy tops that. How many hobby stores have gone out on a limb to support the hobby as you have? NONE! Thanks for what you do for us Andy. How about a M18 Hellcat next?
of all the video channels I follow, your Andy is the one that best represents the passion for your hobby which has since become a job. a job done with the heart, with the brain and with the desire to share a passion and make it accessible to everyone. if I think back to your first videos, comments, construction tips and so on, I see how much time has passed and the evolution that has taken place. I confess, I miss your first shop where you used to shoot your videos during your lunch break or on Sunday mornings. but you deserve everything you have done so far, working hard and communicating with passion. Bravo, a warm greeting. Alessandro
I'm so glad you posted this video, I just got my tank on Tuesday I started it today and this tutorial is so helpful it's a awesome kit keep up the great work Andy
I've had many workable tracks over past several years and just by watching this video, those tracks look amazing and they definitely seems to be the easiest ones I've seen
Looking good, Andy! Thanks for the tutorial on the suspension/track assembly - very straight-forward. I've got two on order and am looking forward to the kit's arrival this Fall.
Great price and more affordable alternative to the iconic Tamiya 1/16 RC Sherman, Wonder if you could get or order the Tamiya RC 1/16 wheels ,springs and bogies only as a spare replacement parts and switch out ? I guess as this is meant to be more a static Sherman unlike the like Tamiya RC version and thats why its not so overly engineered in wheel areas . The price reflects this . But looks great and great price too !
Great job Andy, will pick this and the jeep up when they arrive in Australia, as long as the importer keeps the price in line with other countries. And please don't stop at just the Sherman. Cheers Bob.
Those tracks look absolutely beautiful compared to other model tracks that I had to make. I usually try and get the rubber pre-made workable tracks whenever I am shopping for a new tank, but these on your model look really easy and non-frustrating to build.
Very cool Andy Super video on my fav WW II Tank Although my fav is 1/35th scale But i really enjoy your videos Andy Been watching for a few years Your work has developed right along superbly The suspension and tracks are amazing !!! Cool Andy
Hi Andy, this is an amazing video! I believe you have cool proofed the assembly of the suspension and tracks. This looks like a fantastic kit that I can't wait to add to my 1/16 scale collection. Thank you for all you do.
Great video and kit... If Takom would like to launch into the 1/32nd scale aircraft market, a fully detailed model of the Bristol Beaufighter will sell thousands of kits
Hi Andy, that was a great video, sadly I will not be purchasing one as it too big for me , but I would still like to wish you all the very bext wishes in this new venture, I have been watching some of your older build videos, and cansee how you and your videos have come a long way, best regards from Australia
Great video my friend the kit looks fantastic nice job on the design those workable tracks and bogies are amazing and looks easy to put together hope you realise more kits in the future and wish you every success 👍👍
If there are aftermarket kit companies out there, producing an actual working upper shock absorber and the volute springs for the bogie assemblies would be a Yuuuge addition to this model - and also for the M-10 and Achilles model kits. The suspension system would operate completely correctly, with each wheel moving independently.
I'd like to see some aftermarket parts for this beast. An all metal .50 cal. and bow .30 cal. A super detail engine compartment with opening hatches and rear doors. And someone already mentioned real metal volute springs.
Aber makes both the 50 Cal and the 30 cal barrel in 1:16th scale, Tamiya made working 1:16th scale HVSS in metal for their 1:16th scale RC Sherman. The front hatches can be easily cut out to open them.
Wow this kit looks great. It's only 139.00? I thought at least 400.00. But on Armour in this scale where are you going to get all the boxes, tarp etc to pile on top of it?
Not my scale so doubtful I'll purchase, but you have one hell of a kit there.... Need to produce an earlier Sherman now. VVSS was far more common until '45. (Then a PZKW IV )
Did you consider metal volute springs so that the suspension is actually fully workable rather than just pivoting? It has been done on 35th scale before. 👍
White metal would be to soft. But brass or thin spring steel would work better. That thing is going to be weighty, at least as plastic tanks go, so you'd want metal that could handle it.
Hi Andy the Kit looks marvelous and well done for getting it to market so swiftly ( a lot faster than the Airfix K2Y ambulance) I only have one concern it is being pre ordered and marketed at £143.95 but on the us site it's being marketed at $139.99 which equates to £116 ?
I like that there is a lot of great details, but it looks easy to build (unlike an AFV Club kit!!). I thought it was funny that you said this counts as a build video, to appease the chumps who complain that you don't do as many build videos lately. They don't understand that you are busy growing your business, and if a business isn't growing it's dying.
Tracks look fantastic. The “working” suspension less so. They look good but properly working volutes and shock absorbers would have made this a must purchase kit, even if slightly more expensive. Totally get the cost vs detail compromise you must have faced, but at 1/16 scale the suspension should have been fully articulating. Only my opinion though and happy to be shouted down.

Love it - I wonder how long before some third party manufacturer produces working volute springs and shock absorbers - that'd be great.
Yes, and metal tracks so it could be turned into RC
That would be awesome
In 1/16th scale it is easy enough for you to do it yourself just some brass tube and small springs
Hope you don't mind, I picked up the Crazy 8 Sherman today and I'm taking my time..following your videos on it,and I made a slight mod to the idler wheels ..drilled and added screws like the RC tanks have..
Glad we all kept you in the good graces of your wife with our pre-orders, can't wait to get mine and build it up!
Now we need a full interior version !!
I agree
I wonder whether it could be made and sold as a separate add-on kit. With no internal attachment points included in this present kit, getting all the interior bits properly located might require an advanced level of skill, but it certainly would be cool to have the option.
Looks like an amazing kit, love those tracks! Andy's HHQ and Takom did a great job designing this kit!
When I think that you were a guy that liked to build plastic kits, and then started your own hobby shop, and now have a beautiful 1/16 (!) Sherman with your name on it, that's just amazing. Congrats. Looks like a beautiful kit.

I'm in the UK and have just pre-ordered mine.look forward to getting hold of it.

I'm Voting For a " SCREAMING MIMI " 🤗🤗🤗🤗
@@garyparker2969 yea, I vote for that too.
I hope that the aftermarket support is amazing for this kit. It is already a gem, but with some aftermarket goodies, it could be pure gold.

Can’t tell you how much I am looking forward to my Easy 8.
Thanks Andy for the explanation and build of this suspension system. And yes, it looks extremely easy to assemble.
Wow...That looks like a great kit to build...Your assembly videos are always very insightful to watch.

Can't wait to order mine. Ordered the Jeep, waiting on uncle Sam to order this one.
I ALREADY PREORDERED MY KIT AND AM LOOKING FOWARD TO IT. THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS
Credit where credit is due, you are bringing fantastic kits to the masses at superb prices. Can't wait to see what you come up with next

My God! Andy, so much detail! Fantastic.
Presenting your own kit... in this quality... Amazing achievement. I bet it feels great :D
Wondering if a full interior is in the works for this kit?
Wow! Looks great! Also love the “little touches” such as orientation tabs and such to make it harder to muck up the assembly. :)
Those tracks look absolutely beautiful compared to other model tracks that I had to make. I usually try and get the rubber pre-made workable tracks whenever I am shopping for a new tank, but these on your model look really easy and non-frustrating to build.
Very cool Andy
Super video on my fav WW II
Tank
Although my fav is 1/35th scale
But i really enjoy your videos Andy
Been watching for a few years
Your work has developed right along superbly
The suspension and tracks are amazing !!!
Cool Andy
Amazing video and kit. Super easy assembly. Can't wait to add this to my big tank collection. Thank you for all you do!
Andy, what a fantastic video! You're right, it looks super easy to put together. Can't wait to get mine! Thanks for all you do!
Looks great Andy looking forward to getting my kit from Andyshq Europe. Also ordered the 1/16 Takom Jeep.
Andy this is really bad. Now I want my kit now... Can't wait to start on it. Take care
Andy, it’s so cool to see this venture of yours turning out so well. I can feel your excitement about this and can’t wait to give this kit a try.
Hi Andy, this is an amazing video! I believe you have cool proofed the assembly of the suspension and tracks. This looks like a fantastic kit that I can't wait to add to my 1/16 scale collection. Thank you for all you do.
Stunning! 😊👍👍 That's not far off of a RC working model, lovely quality.
We need a VVSS Sherman now, that is sorely lacking in 1/16 scale!
Very Early M4A1 DV 1/16
Very enjoyable video Andy lots of lnfo and straight forward looking forward to building this one Steve
Pre-ordered this and the Jeep. Can't wait!
Beautiful kit Andy, nice work looks great!

Was happy to preorder this great kit
Impressive kit! Very nice!
great video of great little tutorial I can't wait to get my hands on one
That kit looks amazing!
Outstanding video and presentation.
Goooood engineering. Can't wait to build this big boy....
This kit looks like it will be a pleasure to build.
Awesome work. Great hobby.
What kind of 3 d printer are you using to create these tiny and accurate plastic parts?
Thank you, you are now the bogey man!

This is going to be a dream to build.
As ever an awesome job Andy… There is only one problem I can see with this kit…………. I have to wait for its release!!! Oh man can’t wait!!
Andy, you are the man!
Greetings from Monterrey México
Can't wait for this to come out!
Absolutely STUNNING Quality Andy 👍👍👍 Thanks For Sharing and Have a Blessed Wknd Ahead 🤗🤗 Gary.

Awesome! One kit I need!
That’s awesome Andy!!! Thanks for another great video.
Hello Andy I was wondering will you be making accessories for this tank for dioramas like shells, gas cans, oil drums things like that?
Looks fantastic.
Amazing detail...

Overwhelmingly Wonderfull, love it 😍
Gotta love that and I love the size and most definitely iam going to get me one

I wonder why the polycap is there if the pivot axis is actually glued to the wheel

Just pre-ordered. Any plans for Value Gear to do some add-ons for this? The resin they did for the Stug came out great. THANKS!
Yes Value gear has been working on it and will be out soon
@@AndysHobbyHeadquarters Glad to hear it...they make good stuff.
I'd love to see a 1/16th Abrams M2 and Humvee TOW within the same price range as this.
Those tracks are genius. Congrats on the kit. What's next?
Id really love a 1/8 version
I'm betting someone starts producing a kit that makes the springs functional...
I want Tamuya next tank model whould makes 1/16 M24 Chaffee or M41A3 Walker Bulldogs

@@blister762 you could use the same metal they use as the central return spring for garden trimmers or even 3d print if you get the thickness right.
Just a thought but how hard would it be to make it r/c.
Could you use metal track so to give it more realistic
Question do you wash your models your plastic before you start putting it together are you just paying over it
Take my money Andy!
Lot easier than the jumbo i need to finish
*this is getting out of hand, now there are 2 of them.*

Can it be RC ??
Hey Andy, will your new model brand release other versions of Sherman tanks in the future? I would love to see a VVSS Sherman 1/16 version. :)
Would love to see a Merkava in 1/16...
Is this suitable for RC?
This is excellent 👌
Way cool.
Is painting over it
needs actual metal springs.
Looks great!
Wooooooooooòòoot. Rock it baby.......lol
I'd really like to have one but it's way out of my price range
Hello , could someone give me an update on the jeep pre order , all I get is a automated reply in German !
The kit is still on target for early September arrival
