I'm pretty sure that the pike attacking the camera (12:00) is because they can detect the electrical signals from the battery. I get it quite a lot diving - and pike have a variety of sensors in their noses (similar to ampullae of Lorenzini on sharks). Another cracking vid mate - thanks for making/sharing it! There's always something new to learn.
I used to do a lot of fireball fishing from my 1236jon.. like backtrolling.. follow bottom contours.. fish deeper spots.. that delivered some big fish for me.. but now ive got livescope im more about casting softbaits to the fish and seeing them react.. Ive done a lot of bank fishing in the past also.. but its hard to find good spots that contain big fish.. without electronics.
Part of the game unfortunately mate. I keep doing the same tbh. Main things I would say are striking quickly while the fish is still moving away so that you pull the hooks into the corner of the mouth and make sure that you are using sharp hooks. Other than that it’s just luck mate.
Another excellent video. Done some really nasty weather myself this year Beautiful fish there sir 👋. I managed my pb at the end of February this year. 20lb 2oz 👌 . Wish I was able to share pic with you. Anyway, looking forward to your next video. Tight lines buddy 👍
It does get the heart racing when that alarm goes off. How stable is the savage gear canoe I noticed you could stand up on it? How many pieces of fishing gear went overboard? Nice fish in the end, it was worth the wait and persistence. 👍👍
Ahaha yeah I even get twitchy at home if hear something similar. It’s actually super stable. I’ve been out in some fairly rough conditions and it’s fine. Not lost anything yet either which is a bonus considering how much I cram on.
Yes!!! What are the chances of this! I just had some stuff sent through evri that got sent to the wrong address. How many packages do you have? I’ve had two deliveries go missing in the last week. My email if gregallfind@icloud.com if you don’t mind dropping me a message.
Well done for sticking out the weather boys ,fair play , was wondering what is the underwater camera you are using as we are thinking of getting one , cheers and tight lines 🎣🎣🤞🤞

Thank you for visiting my wonderful country 🏴 I’m glad you didn’t leave empty handed. Tight lines 🎣
Congrats. As I can see the weather did not push you back on the 1st day :)
Amazing video again. Tight lines!
Cheers mate! Definitely pushed us to our limits but was worth it in the end.
Amazing!!!!! Any dead baiting tips? I keep hooking into pike but they get off?

@@thescottishpiker2010 thanks mate! Thought I was doing something wrong but aye. That’s reassuring, thank you 😊
Smoked mackerel with 3 small treble hooks placed top middle and bottom ,never fails for me ,and you also attract classy fish.

@thescottishpiker are you based in Taunton? I have a parcel for The Scottish Piker in Taunton and want to get it to them.
