Another cracking trip loon, thats some set up you have with the kayak. I'm not far from Inverness and have never fished for pike in 50 odd years of fishing. Drove to a loch after buying pike gear, cast an 8" lure and thought I'd hooked the bottom, 😁 beasted it in with 80lb braid and 120lb leader, i unhooked it and let it go, the lure wasnt even the length of its head and i took photos for proof !!. I still mainly fish Salmon and sea/ brown trout but I really enjoy the pike and will definitely do it again. Keep up the videos pal.🏴👍
FABULOUS ANGLING MATE, REALLY ENJOYING YOUR VIDEOS. REALLY ENJOYED FISHING THOSE WILD SCOTTISH LOCHS MYSELF A FEW YEARS BACK. LOOK FORWARD TO MORE VIDEOS AND FOR YOU TO RECORD MORE MONSTER PIKE CAPTURES.
These videos are brilliant combine it all. Dunno how you fit all that gear into a car impressive! Be interested to see your set up at some stage batteries rod etc. keep them coming 🙌
I'm new to fishing for Pike from a kayak and struggle to maintain its position while retrieving the lure, kayak keeps spinning round.(I have the Savage Gear High Rider 330 too, even got the same Spinlock vest as you) I do have the Savage Gear drouge for it, would this help? Would like to see your mounting set up for your motor. Any/all advice would be very much.appreciated Nice fish by the way.👍
As a drogue I use my pike pro weigh sling. Bit smaller than a conventional drogue but stops it spinning as you say. If there’s no wind then I find it quite useful as you can direct the kayak by pointing your rod tip in the same direction to that that your spinning to stop it spinning and it means your pulled towards your lure meaning you can cover ground. For my motor I’ve got a wooden beam that I drilled a couple balancing slats which keep it stable. I then winch it down with a strap that I loop round each end. I’ll make a video at some point.
just need a permit mate. if you've not fished them before then try get someone to take you out with them as there is a lot of water to cover and can be quite daunting.
If you looking for a guided trip then look up fishX and say you found them through my Chanel. Stuart is the best in the business and will look after you.
they're only ones that come up to my waist and are over sized so would slip off easily worst case. I need them to launch as I personally don't like wet feet.
When i go out for big pike on deeper water i mosly fish livebait on fireballs.. like 2 fireballs underneeth the boat.. 2 on planers and a float behind the boat, then i might cast around with some softbaits.. Trolling is good for finding likely good spots.. after that ur better off fishing those spots slower with real bait. also nice spot over there, u cant find nature like that in the netherlands..
I have a second kayak that I am looking to sell. Please get in touch if you are interested👍🏻
Well done ! Eccellent handling of the fish a must watch for any young piker !!
